Well I am shaking and crying at the notion that not everyone is who they say they are on the internet, how awful, I never knew.

I love trying to spot made up posts. Always something dramatic and the Op posting plenty of updates which add to the drama too.

Let's face it the Daily Mail only pick up the out there/ completely unbelievable threads mostly, not 'what are you having for dinner tonight?' etc. So not sure why they think that's a badge of honor.

I don’t actually see what difference it really makes? If it’s plausible enough for people to respond then fair play.

I don’t believe that everything written on here is Gospel truth, but equally, I do believe that outrageous/unbelievable things do happen to people, so just because something sounds unbelievable, doesn’t always mean it is made up.

I also think that, if someone thinks another poster is lying, they should report it to MNHQ.

I think a lot of people also pass the time on their long commute replying to threads that are obviously made up old cobblers out of boredom.

We all pass the time on here. I go with 85 percent being made up.

Am I the only one that doesn't necessarily care if they are made up or not? They are quite often entertaining or though provoking, and if I'm not interested I'll move on past.

You can generally tell if they're made up, but sometimes it's fun to humor or indulge the OP for a while.

War and Peace is made up and people read that.

I never believe anything I read on here. At least 75% of it is completely made up bollocks. I do worry about some posters who get heavily invested in threads.
