There is only one good thing that Mr Johnson politically has done since becoming Prime Minister, and that is accept Mr Grayling's resignation.

Quia · 23/07/2022 18:23

But even then he tried to rig the election for Graying to become Chair of the Intelligence and Security Committee. Fortunately, Grayling was so useless that he still lost.

Stupid woman. And we’re seriously going to have a PM like this? I despair.

Well we’ve got another 5 weeks of this __competition now, I think there’s a good chance she’ll come across as even more of a numpty than she has already, and we end up with Sunak as pm by default, because he doesn’t look so utterly stupid by the time summer is over.

Oh deary me.

Number 3 on the bucket list.

Johnson is out on manouvres with the Army. They let him lob a fake grenade. I always thought he was an idiot, but I didn't realise he was so into dress up (the daily hi vis jackets should have been a hint) and such a plank.

How do you know it was fake? RAF took him up in a Typhoon and now suddenly they've been grounded as they've realised the ejector seats don't work. Will the army be recalling all their grenades tomorrow?

DuncinToffee · 23/07/2022 20:22

Sunak meanwhile seems have forgotten who have been in power for the last 12 years and what his role was by saying Britain is facing a national emergency on economy, NHS backlogs & illegal migration

That's behind a paywall. Is there a screenshot?

TheABC · 24/07/2022 07:25

CNN's piece on the leadership race is interesting: the Conservative MPs they have spoken to are worried the party is too divided between the candidates to govern and will collapse into infighting followed by an early GE. Something to look forward to, along with unrest, war and inflation this winter.

Is Sunak after an endorsement from britain first?

Rishi Sunak unveils his “radical” plan to deal with illegal immigration. It includes withholding aid from countries that don’t cooperate on returns, and imposing an annual cap on the number of refugees allowed in the UK

That really is all dog whistle stuff, isn't it? Shameful.

Has he set out what he is going to do about the deepening cost of living crisis?

Mail on Sunday
"Ireland has seen a surge in asylum seekers after Britain introduced Rwanda policy, Taoiseach reveals as Liz Truss pledges to send MORE migrants to Africa."

Or the Tea Sock as Truss calls him. It seems the Tories and Britain First are on the same page.

Schapps is deluded as ever

Hang on - so we’ve taken back control of our borders cos we no longer want to be part of the EU, but Grant Shapps still expects the French to let us come and go as we please across their border. Have I got that right? As they say somewhere, quel culot ce mec

How does that work then, if say Russia decides to invade Poland? Do we just tell the refugees "Tough, you're too late, we've had our quota for this year. If you are inconsiderate enough manage to escape slaughter for a few more months we might think again in January"?

I hope that Liz Truss learns to pronounce 'Taoiseach' if she becomes Prime Minister. Two years or so of Tea Sock would be head wrecking.

The Express today carries an article about how Boris Johnson has actually been a brilliant Prime Minister. It was written, perhaps inevitably, by Boris Johnson. I wonder whether he wrote another one describing how awful he’s been & decided at the last minute which one to file…

Is this a joke post? I have no idea! 🤪

Notonthestairs · 25/07/2022 09:15

The funny thing is Dorries didn't criticise Johnson for spending £50-60k of party donors money on the flat refurbishment.

But Sunaks suits and shoes were presumably paid for out of his own pocket.

Heaven knows why I am defending Sunak.
