I wonder who he thinks he'll have in his cabinet? I take it that Sunak, Javed, Gove and Zadhawi are right of his friends' list, and even Patel and Braverman may not be favoured any longer given that they said he should resign. People like Raab won't survive the next election. So that really does leave him with Dorries, Rees-Mogg, Notso Cleverly, Bone and not much else. What a horrific thought.

Quia · 23/07/2022 10:50

Right off his friends' list, not right of it. He probably regards them as being woke lefties now.

DuncinToffee · 23/07/2022 10:52

I wonder if the pointing out was done in a MN way, sit him down and genty ask him not to tell anymore porky pies.

Whatever they said in private, in public they all defended the lies.

Roussette · 23/07/2022 10:53

He said 'no one is indispensible' and that is what he should realise big time.

I know it's different because you leave behind a legacy as a PM... but when you leave a job, you are literally yesterday's news in no time!
I think the next PM is going to have a helluva job for all sorts of reasons. Because of BJs lowering of standards, lying, the economy and so on. There is no way he'll be back I don't think. Too divisive. Too toxic.
Because there are more talented MPs out there than him.

Zahawi doesn't like to be held accountable

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Nadhim Zahawi, has been sending threatening letters to people investigating his tax affairs. The letters are designed to intimidate & say they're confidential and can't be published.

One was sent to me. I am publishing it.

Truss is travelling to Kent today to promote the benefits of Brexit......

She'll spend most of it sat in a traffic jam.

I suppose she could walk down the line of cars waiting to get to France and tell them how wonderful Brexit is 🫣

Oh deary me.

Number 3 on the bucket list.

Johnson is out on manouvres with the Army. They let him lob a fake grenade. I always thought he was an idiot, but I didn't realise he was so into dress up (the daily hi vis jackets should have been a hint) and such a plank.

How lovely for him to be out playing soldiers. What a shame someone’s finger didn’t slip on the trigger …

Quia · 23/07/2022 15:59

FFS, hasn't the army got better things to do? Surely they could reasonably have rescinded his invitation?

the80sweregreat · 23/07/2022 16:06

I wonder if Boris Johnson fancies a go at being an underpaid nurse next week ? No, didn't think so.

newnamethanks · 23/07/2022 16:10

The 2 contenders for the hot seat are doomed to fail no matter who wins the poisoned chalice. Whoever it is will be undermined from Day 1 and will be Theresa May'd by Christmas, just in time for Big Dog to selflessly abandon whatever he's doing and return by popular demand to Save the Nation. You can get a lovely big Christmas tree in the hall at Chequers. I hope this is just an idle fantasy born of despair.

Blossomtoes · 23/07/2022 16:12

With any luck he’ll have lost his seat well before Christmas.

He was very useful in the pandemic though when he took on cleaning chairs at a vaccine centre.

This was my favourite clip ever. Yes, it is him.

I feel irrationally annoyed that we’re clearly now funding photo ops for his autobiography.

dickhead.

Roussette · 23/07/2022 16:53

I agree. You wanted to hang on in there as a caretaker PM or whatever you call it.

Well do some bloody work man.

I don’t think it’s irrational @Cornettoninja. I share your annoyance.

DuncinToffee · 23/07/2022 17:03

I don't think monkey pox is featuring highly on his to do list

Quia · 23/07/2022 17:06

Well, he's had a play with the RAF's and the army's toys. It must be the navy due next. Obviously that's more of a priority than another piddly little health emergency.

the80sweregreat · 23/07/2022 17:08

Oh yes, he did give the chairs a clean once! I
Forgot this.

Probably the most useful thing he's done in the last three years.

Don't forget that he single handedly did the vaccine roll about.

Oh god, what a scenario. Can you imagine how utterly unbearable it would be?

Surely someone must have one of Boris tending the pot plants?
