Gutted to hear this. Guess this means whoever comes in will do damage control, Tories voted in in next Gen Election because no one fucking learns anything in this country.

Excellent work.

Of course. Tories more likely to win the next GE than ever without Boris Johnson.

JocelynBurnell · 07/07/2022 09:55

Britain has lost a 'world-beating' leader.

Indeed. A 'world-beating' leader in lying and cheating.

We'll I'll rephrase, how will life get better?

Having a PM who isn't a congenital liar will certainly improve life, though we may have to wait for Starmer to be reasonably certain of that.

Life won’t get better but it’s nice to see one of the main architects of it getting worse having his arse handed to him. It’s like toasting marshmallows over the dumpster fire.

KangFang · 07/07/2022 09:58

Good.

He is a disgrace.

@x2boys True maybe we can finally draw a line under the endless party gate threads too?

I hope we don't EVER forget that our grandparents were dying alone under this twat while him and his wife had constant parties with their Toff mates. Maybe then, just maybe, we can finaly kick these idiots out.

Good point

Sparklingbrook · 07/07/2022 09:58

I'd quite like a leader with a bit of charisma TBF, nobody seems to have that.

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 07/07/2022 09:59

I wouldn’t bet on a Tory government at a GE. I live in a traditional true blue seat that will absolutely not vote Tory now - the majority was slashed last GE and the local elections were a rout in favour of the Lib Dems.

NotMyselfWithoutCoffee · 07/07/2022 10:00

I dread to think who will replace him, rishi sunak? 😱
It'll be like when people were saying they missed Theresa may and she was fucking useless. It just gets worse and worse.

AmaryIlis · 07/07/2022 10:00

Charisma is the LAST thing we need. Johnson was supposed to be supplying that. Right now, I would be absolutely delighted with boring, honest and competent.

I live in Braverman's true blue seat.

After she threw her hat on the table I'll be interested to see what happens!

Local elections the turn out was up 5% and Tory's lost 10% of their vote.

Honest and competent with charisma would be good for me. BJ had no visible charisma that I could see. Confused

Sparklingbrook · 07/07/2022 10:04

Seems the news is not important enough for This Morning to be taken off air, they're having a festival of some sort. Maybe that's apt.

Penguinwaddles · 07/07/2022 10:05

Call me cynical but does anyone else think there is a possibility that Boris sacking Gove is a way of legitimising Gove so that he can put himself in the running to be PM with the backing of the Brexiteers such as Jacob Rees Smugg and Steve Baker? An insurance policy by Boris in case he couldnt carry on? Perhaps?

Interesting theory! Who knows?!

Leaving Johnson in power would be incredibly irresponsible. He has demonstrated time and again that he puts himself first. If he's in a position where he has nothing to lose, he could do unimaginable damage.

That ship has long since sailed.

Yep , certainly possible. There is no situation and no plan that I would discount.

Also he can call a GE in September if he stays on, would put nothing past him.

BiggerBoat1 · 07/07/2022 10:10

Nadine Dorries for PM!

If anything I think Boris has been too competent.

viques · 07/07/2022 10:10

Dead man walking. No appeal allowed.

Roselilly36 · 07/07/2022 10:11

About time too, he may want to stay on till Autumn, but I can’t see that happening tbh.

ClinkeyMonkey · 07/07/2022 10:12

Total and utter damp squib after all his lying all these years.

mbosnz · 07/07/2022 10:12

Charisma? I'd settle for competent.

Personality and charm is one thing, blatant ego boosting and self aggrandisement is something else.

I said the same on one of the Johnson threads somewhere.

But so,some posted that he told Johnson he had to 9pm to resign. Johnson sacked him at 8.59pm.
