He's presumably aiming to follow Theresa May's precedent by staying in post. The difference is that she had a functioning government, and wasn't resigning in circumstances where her former colleagues were saying they couldn't work for her due to a fundamental lack of integrity and honesty. He can't realistically stay on, can he?
