Things that you expected to love but didn't.

I recently tried watching Strictly Ballroom, with the expectation that I'd love it because it ticked so many boxes for me but I didn't enjoy it.

Likewise the Shirley Jackson book, We Have Always Lived In The Castle. It didn't do anything for me and yet so many people rave about it so it's obviously me not the book.

Which things did you think you'd love but didn't?

That disappointed me too. I adored some lines but it didn't work for me as a whole.

Teaching my children to read. I thought it would be the most amazing thing in the world to do. In reality it drove me to distraction.

Horse riding. Always wanted to do it, finally decided to in 2nd year of university. I HATED it. Couldn't wait to get down and decided I'd enjoy horses from the ground from there on in.
