I was sure in the early 90s I used to absolutely love an ice cream I think was called ‘Mirage’ ? Maybe I’ve got the name wrong as googling isn’t coming up with anything ??!!

it was a bit like a solero but lemon shaped 🤷‍♀️ Maybe I dreamt it .

Also - a lemon drink called ‘Gini ‘??? Or have I made that up too 🤣🤣🤣

Lyons maid did lemon ice-cream. Abroad you could buy gimmicky ice-cream I remember collecting plastic containers fruit shaped which had contained ice-cream

Was the lemon ice cream called Delights?

No I googled they look like individual desserts and what I’m remembering was definitely on a stick and very like a solero but lemon shaped

Mirage was a drink, there was Mirage & Taboo.

Both sadly discontinued- I tried to get some taboo earlier this year to celebrate a milestone birthday. Vodka, Taboo and Lemonade was a student favourite

Gini is available in France. I’m looking forward to stocking up when I’m there in the summer 🍋

This?

No not solero but very similar - Was definitely a lemon shape ….. I’m starting to worry I spent a whole summer in the early 90s hallucinating Ice creams 😱🤣🤣 is that why I have the name ‘mirage’ in my head !!!!????

Gini lemon drink when you google it comes up. The one that annoys me is I had a Peter Pan shaped ice lolly in Corsica in 1993 and I’ve never found any evidence of it!

I think I remember a person shipped lolly. Was the outside like solero? And it was green?

CourtneeLuv · 24/06/2022 23:13

Shaped

SuddenArborealStop · 24/06/2022 23:15

You've the name all wrong, the one with strawberry pieces in?

Hiphopfrogger · 24/06/2022 23:18

Does anyone remember thjs drink that was around briefly in the mid 90s…it was carbonated but the flavour was herbal. I think it was marketed as a health drink. Might only have been around for 1 summer!

SquirrelFan · 24/06/2022 23:18
Was this the ad, OP? at around the 830 mark. If you look for gini ads, most of them are a lot more risqué than this one!
Riv · 24/06/2022 23:19

There was definitely an ice lolly called a Mivi (or a Cornish Mivi) like a solero but with a fruit outer and ice cream inner. They tended to be strawberry but there were lemon and orange ones.

Glitteryjelly · 24/06/2022 23:22

I really the wibbly wobbly lollies
Also the feet lollies
I also remember a green frog lolly too, they were yum!

Martinisarebetterdirty · 24/06/2022 22:52

I’m sure I used to get wibbly wobbly lollies - they were half red half yellow, can I find any evidence of them now though - such a pain when you can’t find something and you feel you might have imagined it!

I remember those!

hashbrownsandwich · 24/06/2022 23:24

What was the ice lolly in the 80s/90s which was a marble effect looking one?

CushtyCushty · 24/06/2022 23:25

ImaginationZoo · 24/06/2022 22:49

It was definitely solero like in that it was ice cream within a fruit sorbet ish ‘shell’

It's not a mivi is it?

rea2022x · 24/06/2022 23:25

Any of these ??

Ye, Mivvis came in different flavours IIRC. I always thought they were terribly grown up because that's what my parents would have (Strawberry, I think).

My favourite was the Lolly Gobble Choc Bomb..
Or sometimes a Screwball.

Chuffed to read that you can still get Funny Feet... I think I need to go to Iceland. They remind me of 1970s summer holidays in Cornwall !

Glitteryjelly · 24/06/2022 23:27

Anyone remember Gino Ginelli ice cream? Can still hear the music now from the ad😄

Wow I remember the green frog lollies, they were so nice!

AtomicBlondeRose · 24/06/2022 23:29

I remember Gini - and I also seem to remember that it had a weird top to the can - so instead of a ring pull there was one large and one small button you pressed in and drank through the resulting hole. Anyone remember that?

MBM18 · 24/06/2022 23:31

A paddle pop?

TrikeWife · 24/06/2022 23:32

The Mivvi was the Lyon’s Maid version of a strawberry split wasn’t it?
Walls also did a blackcurrant split in around the late 70s, I loved them
I was also very keen on Tango sparkling grapefruit, it was very tart and refreshing. Sadly long gone😠
