Horrible. Isn’t this his second resignation for doing basically the same thing? if he’s a repeat sexual harasser, why does he get to stay on as an MP? This can’t be tolerated.
Boris should also resign on sleaze grounds. On his watch, too many MPs are really lowering standards in public life.

Roussette · 30/06/2022 22:46

Thx Duncin

The sleaze knows no bounds does it?

As the good Chris Bryant has just tweeted...
This government feels more and more like the Tories in 1995-6. Scandal after scandal

How right he is. BUT to me it's far worse, I think they're out of control. I think that big majority went to their heads. They have no shame. I can't keep up as it's a daily scandal, it's like Berlosconi on speed. How the hell anyone can defend this shower I. Do. Not. Know.

(And it's obvious because none of the Tory lovers are on this thread. They're indefensible)

Notonthestairs · 30/06/2022 22:50

Apparently Peter Bottomley has WhatsApped that he hopes Pincher is back in Government soon.

That seem to operate in a different world to the rest of us. Groping colleagues = gross misconduct. Blow jobs at work with junior staff = gross misconduct. Giving friends million pound contracts = gross misconduct. Lying about key information = gross misconduct.

Utter bunch of self regarding cosseted twats.

Yes it's the second time he's done the same sort of thing, grim! I expect we'll be on for a by election, but not without a fight 🙄

ilovesooty · 30/06/2022 23:12

Bottomley is an utter tit.

George Eaton

The Tories this year:

  • David Warburton loses whip over alleged sexual harassment.
  • Imran Ahmad Khan convicted of child sexual assault.
  • Neil Parish, tractors and porn.
  • Tory MP arrested on suspicion of rape.
  • Deputy chief whip resigns after allegedly groping two men.

You missed Boris Johnson trying to find his girlfriend a £100,000 a year job in between her giving him blowjobs, whilst his wife was undergoing cancer treatment.

L1ttledrummergirl · 01/07/2022 00:09

@Roussette sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope she gets well quickly and that the wedding goes well.

Don't forget repeatedly breaking the law.

Christ, are they incapable of recruiting people in control of their libido?

Would seem so 🙄

Roussette · 01/07/2022 06:16

@L1ttledrummergirl Many thanks, chesty cough and huge disappointment about sums it up, we're off to the marquee today to look at setting up some sort of live stream for her.

Hope your DD enjoyed the freedom of her first solo drive to school!

I had never heard of this Chris Pincher till now. Famous for getting pissed and groping male colleagues then. How much more sleaze can we endure? Don't backers of the party think it's a bit much now??

I continue to maintain that it is all some big game of dare that they are playing and the winner is the person who can get away with the most outrageous act.

I find it a preferable idea to thinking that a group of people could actually be like this.

ClaudineClare · 01/07/2022 07:44

How can he possibly stay as an MP when this is the second time (that we know of) that he has behaved like this and had to resign?

ClaudineClare · 01/07/2022 07:47

Once upon a time, BJ's BJ and Pincher's drunken antics would have automatically led to resignations.

Backbenchers really need to find their backbones and put the country before their careers.

It's also missing out the 50 odd MPs under investigation for inappropriate behaviour.

L1ttledrummergirl · 01/07/2022 08:01

True. I'm not sure that I would want to see a full list, it would be too depressing and take too long to read.
How did our house of commons fall so low? Do they have no pride in themselves, their office or their constituents?

DuncinToffee · 01/07/2022 08:03

Boris Johnson was told about sexual misconduct allegations against the Conservative MP Chris Pincher before the last reshuffle but he still made him Deputy Chief whip anyway, reveals

"... a member of the government had a “minder” to ensure he left events without drinking too much and getting into trouble — and we can now reveal the MP concerned was Pincher."

Good grief. They need minders to keep them out of trouble now? What happened Wednesday evening - minder's night off?

DuncinToffee · 01/07/2022 08:22

It's unbelievable isn't, a minder to prevent committing sexual assault

The posh ankle tag. Tory sleaze.

I’ve certainly had those thoughts about BJ’s behaviour. I think it’s natural to him. Perhaps he’s infected the whole Tory party?

Surprised about Peter Bottomley supporting the gropey one. I thought he was one of the better old school Conservatives. The infection must be very virulent.

tobee · 01/07/2022 08:35

It's a mass brainwashing exercise that these things are all normalised.

Cornettoninja · 01/07/2022 08:50

Presuming they’re not all suspended I’d be interested to see a venn diagram of how they voted in the VOC.

just heard him muttering about covid cases rising. He didn’t want any restrictions in the first place and now conditions are ripe for him to not to have to make any unpopular decisions. On the other hand we might see the toppling of his ‘VACCINATIONS!’ Ace card. I predict that any boosters needed are going to be a shit show as the infrastructure to administer them hasn’t been maintained or mothballed. I don’t know for sure, but have we even got many vaccines now?

Cornettoninja · 01/07/2022 08:52

Don't backers of the party think it's a bit much now??

I think there needs to be far more attention on these very quiet figures now. That’s the Achilles heel so far as tories are concerned. I hope Private Eye uses recent attention on it to take a few donors to task too.

Johnson? I think the time for any PM being able to make unpopular decisions, covid wise, is very long past. It's a valid point about vaccine administrative infrastructure though, I hadn't thought of that.

Cornettoninja · 01/07/2022 09:11

@ApplesandBunions sorry, yes BJ

I think we're way behind on the boosters. We have connections to Spain and when we were out there recently, their Government announced a 4th booster for the entire population, regardless of age. That's 47 million peopl. Where's ours?

BJBJ cannot be vaccine vaccine vaccine anymore
