Ew. The PE piece gives more detail on the "compromising position" an MP walked in on...Carrie giving BJ a BJ on the office sofa. Oh god, I feel ill.

Carrie obviously mistaking his initials for an instruction.

£100,000 is a lot of money for a 'job.

Was that the interview?

Notonthestairs · 29/06/2022 14:09

So Carrie called Rebekah to get the story pulled - not because was her then lover was angling to get her £100,000 job as his chief of staff and breaking the Ministerial Code but because she didn't want the blow job element of the story to be exposed...

Of course Foreign Secretary is a lowly position which requires very little focus, taking time out for blowjobs during the working day seems fair.

No wonder Carrie has free rein to wander about Downing Street.

It's all so very classy.

Unlike Angela Rayner who should be castigated for attending Glyndebourne.

Notonthestairs · 29/06/2022 14:11

Johnson definitely knows what a woman is for.

Just saw the clip of Raab winking at Rayner, wtf!

It was grim, childish and frankly unworthy of a Deputy PM.
Why did he think that was appropriate?

I'm sure the readers of the Telegraph and the Mail will love it though. Nothing better than patronising a woman MP.

"Their case accuses the Met of failing to issue questionnaires to Boris Johnson over three Covid law-breaking gatherings that were held at 10 Downing Street.
They were on 13 November 2020, on 17 December 2020 and on 14 January 2021.
The case alleges that, because the questionnaires were not sent, the Met's decision that the PM did not break the law at these gatherings was "irrational" and based on an "error of law."

Rumbling on.

balalake · 29/06/2022 15:55

An MP walks in on a cabinet minister. Ever heard of knocking before entering? Or do the Tories not do that?

newnamethanks · 29/06/2022 16:08

Not the Lulu Lyttle sofa? No chance of flogging that on ebay then.

WaitroseWoman · 29/06/2022 16:21

Perhaps that's why they then chose such clashing patterns at no. 11 - less likely to show up stains.

Cornettoninja · 29/06/2022 12:14

I see Angela is off the leash…

s much as PMQs is always politicians in some kind of zoo I quite liked today where there was an actual chance to hear different MPs.

Raab was thing to do a Johnson and repeat his sound bites - but couldn't quite pull it off and I was impressed with Rayner.

I felt out of the 2 RAAB was more out of his depth.

L1ttledrummergirl · 29/06/2022 16:36

I missed today's, will try to catch it later. I was taking dd to her driving test (passed).

Cornettoninja · 29/06/2022 16:48

I thought AR did fairly well today although I don’t think general commentary agrees with me. In particular she landed two good comments imho: 1. When she pointed out the Tory rabble trying to drown her out were currently prosecuting the Brexit guy for the same behaviour 2. When she said she wouldn’t take advice regarding defence from a man who refused to cut his holiday short for the Afghanistan evacuation. I listened on the radio so didn’t see any winking but it fits with the cocksure tone of Raab.

Unlike Angela Rayner who should be castigated for attending Glyndebourne

I’m sure the benches loved this but it did reek of snobbery that someone of a lower class should dare to attend Glyndebourne.

Well done Littledrummers (cymbal?) daughter! 🎉

Roussette · 29/06/2022 17:07

@Cornettoninja

So agree with you. She was feisty. How dare he criticise her, when as she put it... he was on a sun lounger on holiday as Afghanistan fell to the Taliban (despite him having plenty of warning of this happening)

And how dare he show such snobbery about Glyndebourne. I didn't know a working class woman wasn't allowed there, and it is only for the toffs. Raab made an idiot of himself.

AR's response to Raab on Twitter
NEW: Rayner responds to Raab's jibe at her for going to the opera
"My advice to the deputy prime minister is to cut out the snobbery & brush up on his opera. The Marriage of Figaro is the story of a working-class woman who gets the better of a privileged but dim-witted villain."
😂😂😂

The winking was weird.

Cornettoninja · 29/06/2022 17:16

I thought it was an interesting moment when Raab said to Ian Blackford (I can’t remember exactly so paraphrasing) something like ‘it’s good to see you in your place’ and had to calm his own benches to impress he had meant that sincerely (not that I think he did particularly but I don’t think he meant it as a ‘zinger’).

itsgettingweird · 29/06/2022 17:59

Agree Cornetto her comment about critiquing her choice of social outing when he wouldn't leave a sun lounger during the Afghanistan crisis was brilliant.

That tweet is just inspired!

Now if Johnson is forced out and Kier gets a fine we could have some more of these two.

Rayner would bring the Labour Party back up I think.

tobee · 28/06/2022 18:48

Shouldn't Braverman be being de wigged by the bar association or something?

Do you think Tory MPs were threatened with whip removal of they voted against? I suppose that's normal procedure anyway. If these abstaining backbenchers mean what they've said previously they should look on losing the whip as a good thing.

She might as well dewig herself, her chances of any sort of career as a barrister are somewhere around zero. The only time she's appeared in court on behalf of the government, she was so bad it was embarrassing. Plus the Bar hates her anyway for her total failure to stand up for them, the law, or indeed any sort of morality.

I missed PMQs as well, like this from Rayner

"Mr Speaker, I think it's rather ironic that you have to intervene because of the baying mob here, when they've got people through their 'noisy protest' laws being stopped for protesting out on the street.

"They don't like it when the public say what they think."

And in other news

The Privileges Committee has launched its call for evidence in its Boris Johnson/partygate probe on whether the PM misled Parliament.

Crucial thing: Committee has said it will be willing to take evidence from anonymous sources (as long as chair knows who it is).

If Kier gets fined it’s highly likely she would too and I believe they’ve both pledged to resign if fined. That said I’m sure she’d be back after a suitable period of time (seems to be the penance period for most disgraced MP’s)

I’m not completely sold on AR, I really like her enthusiasm and integrity - she’s got both in bundles, but I’ve got a stumbling block with her that I can’t quite put my finger on. I dunno, maybe I’m just done with ‘characters’ for a while after BJ! I want some nice boring politicians Grin

Now that is interesting.

Yes, back to 'politics is boring' would be such a relief.

YeH I agree with that actually.

Kier can do boring forensic politics. Perhaps if Tory's can bring out a decent leader we could have that?

Anyone noticed why Private Eye is trending on Twitter.😳😮🤢🤮

He’s now renamed to BloJo, after they have revealed just what the compromising position he was in with Carrie was.

… I look forward to the supporter bots come and explain why a blow job in the office at work is fine!
