She's terribly careful to say the cost of living issue is "global" - anything rather than admit that Brexit plus the billions of pounds lost on corrupt contracts and Sunak's incompetence might have something to do with it.

Failing to invest for the passed 12 years except in the already very wealthy and then raising taxes on the poorest is a sure way of ensuring that Britain is well placed to weather any global storms.

See Johnson has been doing his press conference finally.

"Blah blah listen & learn blah blah"

Yeah right! Politicians always come out with this like we're all too stupid to realise this is just meaningless shite and they have no intentions to make a change.

tobee · 24/06/2022 16:52

"no intentions to make a change."

And incapable of making any

Johnson's hair is looking really chlorine yellow. What has he/Carrie been doing to it?!

That can be sun damage. He needs to use purple shampoo I believe GrinGrin

Piggywaspushed · 24/06/2022 17:25

I'm blonde. My hair used to go green with Sun In and then swimming. Too much time in hot countries on away trips, I guess.

WaitroseWoman · 24/06/2022 17:45

I have it on good authority that he has been swimming in the hotel pool.

Peregrina · 24/06/2022 17:52

It [T & H result] wasn't a massive surprise.

The size of the majority was. Overturning a majority of 24, 000 would have led one to expect a majority of a couple of 100 at best..

Apparently he was planning to tell Prince Charles off for daring to have a private conversation about Rwanda. I do hope, if he does, PC will tell him to fuck right off. He's hardly in a position to take either the moral or constitutional high ground with anyone.

Cornettoninja · 24/06/2022 18:14

issues of personality

Issues of personality? Is this setting a precedent for a legal defence?

I read somewhere he changed his mind about it.

Just been amusing myself looking at the comments about the by elections on YouGov Daily Chat. One referring to Johnson as Boris the Cockwomble (which Mumsnetter was this?) and another as Noris Johnson GrinGrin(presumably a typo?)

🔺 Update: Tory rebels are planning a takeover of the 1922 Committee of backbenchers to lay the ground for another attempt to oust Boris Johnson

Be interesting to see if this comes to anything...

Be interesting though after what their treasurer said. Don't really know how the 1922 committee works beyond representing backbenchers

Tory rebels are planning a takeover of the 1922 Committee of backbenchers to lay the ground for another attempt to oust Boris Johnson.
Opponents of the prime minister are planning to nominate a slate of candidates sympathetic to changing rules that bar another leadership challenge for the next year.

I think his goose is cooked and he'll be terminated over the weekend while he's away. Fingers 🤞
