At this minute in time, they can't find anyone to come on BBC, who say they are still waiting to hear who's going to turn up

Have they tried counting to twenty and shouting ‘coming ready or not’? Tories seem quite partial to hiding.

😂🤣

They're good at the hiding, yes!

The Tiverton candidate locking herself in a room, Johnson in a fridge, Dowden resigning an hour before he due on air... I sense a theme here...

I dream of the day that JRMogg and my Tory candidate (30 years of him, he's awful) are driven out by the Lib Dems. It will never be Labour but Tiverton & Honiton has given me a chink of hope.

@Noisyprat I am nowhere near a TV - did she really mention the vaccine roll out?!

Yes!

I wrote a rant then deleted it because it annoyed me to repeat the same observation again.

Nick Ferrari put it to her that deportations to Rwanda can’t simultaneously be deterrent and a humane. She reacted on form.

Speaking of Rees Mogg - which I would rather not do -

maternity leave & pay listed by ReesMogg in his dashboard of EU laws up for grabs.

they really want the working class in workhouses don’t they!

This is different evidently they are facing different challenges. It's VITAL they get on with the job

waah, waah, waah, being in government is such hard work. Waaah, waah, waaah I work so hard.

Bloody good, it’s meant to be a hard job you dolts, you don’t get sympathy or praise for doing the basics.

Notonthestairs · 24/06/2022 08:09

Yes Eve - JRM was asked yesterday, I think, whether maternity leave and pay might be changed and he declined to respond.

Downnotdown · 24/06/2022 08:14

Tory MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, treasurer of the 1922 Committee has been quoted as saying the Tory party need to “think very carefully about the future and how we’re going to remedy the situation".

He says he will be discussing the issue with his colleagues and then "will have to make some difficult decisions no doubt."

Let's just hope there is some substance behind those words.

Roussette · 24/06/2022 08:21

OMG, that's my MP. Has he grown a backbone. He has not replied to my last 4 polite but firm emails. He has no constituency office.
But he did vote against BJ in VONC
I do want him gone though, he is not good for my area

ITV have got Paul Scully on.

He's not saying much...

Buckland is on Sky at 8.30 apparently.

Short straw for him, then

It would be great if they had the sense to get together and say No, the only person who should be facing the music today is Johnson. But perhaps they can't find the fridge he's hiding in.

Cornettoninja · 24/06/2022 08:29

Let’s hope so @Downnotdown. I’m hearing a lot of empty noises about ‘listening to the electorate’ followed by commitments to carry on as they are this morning though.

jgw1 · 24/06/2022 07:35

Where are Clav, @JaniieJones Marsha, Derxa and friends when you need them?

Clav is desperately googling by-election results for every Labour government and despairing that she can't find a worse one.

I don't mean to sound big headed, but either I or my cat could have done a better interview in support of the Prime Minister than Raab managed.
It comes to something when the Deputy Prime Minister is repeatedly calling the Prime Minister a distraction.

God, she's thick. Hasn't she noticed that the result shows the Rwanda tactic didn't work, the leaving the ECHR tactic didn't work, the blaming Labour for rail strikes tactic didn't work - a hefty proportion of the electorate can see right through these things?

So they know what a woman is: someone from whom basic equality should be removed ASAP.

Do they not know there is a war on? Now is not the time to change leader.

A war on you and people like you who must be impoverished so the rich can get richer

Didn't one of the posters on these thread put forward their cat to stand as candidate? I can't remember who but your cat can be deputy.

AmaryIlis · 24/06/2022 08:40

Raab is so blatant. His only hope of retaining his seat after the next election lies in getting rid of Johnson and installing a competent PM. But he knows they haven't got a competent candidate to replace him, so he just hopes he'll get some sort of credit for loyalty. And just makes himself look stupid and amoral.

newnamethanks · 24/06/2022 08:40

G morning all, lovely day. Rousette you share your MP with my sister. We've been cackling over his remark sometime ago at a public meeting 'I've got a majority of 25k plus so I don't need to be here, goodbye' and wondering what his plans for his future are. He describes himself as a farmer. I'm going to send him a tractor catalogue. Worked well in Devon.

DuncinToffee · 24/06/2022 08:41

I am nice like that, as long as the cats stay away from my garden Wink

Don’t worry, you could always deport them to a junkyard.

Piggywaspushed · 24/06/2022 08:47

Morning all!

Slippery slope just got more slippery.

Peregrina · 24/06/2022 08:51

It needs a bit more, I am afraid - you need to get him watching porn in the HoC,or even better have him sent to prison for molesting a child.

Do they not know there is a war on? Now is not the time to change leader.

Cough, cough, when we are actually at War, that is exactly what we do. In WW2 we managed to change twice - the first time the MPs booted the PM out, the second time, the electorate did the deed. Much to the consternation of the upper classes.
