Wow, an open letter by Johnson is relative

Maybe even CCHQ realises that the oft trotted out lines are exhausted now. There is nothing fresh for them to say right now, despite Johnson's "speech" yesterday. The rest of us are just waiting for what is inevitably on the horizon - the downfall of a comprehensively disgraced Alexander Boris de Sniffle Johnson.

DuncinToffee · 10/06/2022 15:14

Yes indeed

I don't think anyone of the 211 was sent out to do the media rounds this morning either.

Maybe they have finally realised that when they try and talk it comes out of their behinds?

Surely someone who is in finance should not be making that level of mistake?

And if they did, they’d be fired. The City is a brutal place.

I doubt Johnson could fire even a cleaner after what he's done and refused to resign!

the80sweregreat · 10/06/2022 16:10

They like to bring up Gordon brown's gold sell off years ago. This probably won't get much of a mention.

DuncinToffee · 10/06/2022 15:20

Wow. That’s very powerful. Bet he won’t read it.

The Rwanda plan is unspeakably vile and if it does go ahead it will be a stain on the UK.

I've been on a thread in Twitter about Rwanda plan. I feel unclean. It was vile. We have a lot of racists in this country, some of the posts were unspeakable

Notonthestairs · 10/06/2022 17:18

I'd like to think that the Rwanda flights won't happen. I wonder whether the Government expects them to happen - but either way it's a win for the Government.

Either the flights leave ✅ and a certain section of society will be thrilled.

Or the flights are blocked by evil leftie lawyers/judges and they get Enemies of the People headlines for weeks ✅

It also serves to remind the public that Starmer is indeed a leftie lawyer.

Win win.

ClaudineClare · 10/06/2022 17:20

It is deeply upsetting and disturbing that there are swathes of people who think it is a good idea @Roussette

Lying is now a basic building block of our criminal government's policies:

Letters sent by the Home Office to those seeking asylum assured them the UNHCR was “closely involved” in the scheme to send people to the east African country, the high court was told. But a letter from the UNHCR to the Home Office minister Tom Pursglove questioned this claim.

“We are also concerned by statements made in the letters indicating that UNHCR has not expressed substantial concerns with regard to the shortcomings in the capacity of the Rwandan asylum system,” the agency wrote.

ClaudineClare · 10/06/2022 17:21

I think the "removals" (what a dehumanising term) set for next week have all been cancelled.

DuncinToffee · 10/06/2022 17:31

Judgement is due any minute now but the latest information I have seen is

More details: there had been a plan to put 37 people on the flight to Rwanda on Tuesday, says Mr Gullick. But six of those removal notices have now been cancelled. So 31 people are scheduled to be on the plane. He says there is a "a significant and important public interest"

Imagine reading that about yourself. Most people would die of embarrassment but I suppose it will be water off a duck's back with him.

DuncinToffee · 10/06/2022 15:20

That’s a great letter. I particularly like how it calls out his hypocritical veneration of the UK’s history.

If he had any capacity to reflect I think he’d be ashamed of himself. As it is he will be angry at a member of his family targeting him publicly (and no he won’t read it).

No, sadly not, judge still reading out decision and this tweet by Adam Wagner doesn't sound good

Sounds like court has refused to grant delay in Rwanda flight?

If I understand it correctly they will consider individual cases but not block the overall process.

Is that from the thread Adam Wagner links to Notonthestairs? It is hard to understand with all those abbreviations.

Terrible news. Those poor people who have been through so much.

What do people think will happen about Patel. It looks like she has liked repeatedly to parliament about this. She should go but will she? I don't suppose so.

Lied not liked.

As well as a There will be a full judicial review of the Rwanda policy though, before the end of July

Not much use for those ones being deported on Tue.
