There's not going to be a massive landslide for Labour in England in the next election

No, there isn’t. But as long as the opposition(s) win seats to oust the Tories, it’s good enough for me.

Blossomtoes · 06/06/2022 17:14

Enough seats.

And here is Dorries

Nadine Dorries tells the world that the donors own the Conservative Party.

Donors are not going to continue to donate to a party that is sleepwalking into losing a General Election.

Cheguevarahamster · 06/06/2022 17:29

Just checking in. Got the prosecco ready.

Its not looking good for the greased piglet but I suspect he will scrape through -but then the Torys are full of surprises.

Led by donkeys have done a fine video here.

Lest we forget, here is the video about Boris by Led By Donkeys, already with 1.4 million views:

I agree with you but BJ and Corbyn both chased decent people out of their parties. Plus you need to have the hide of a rhinoceros to be PM.

Johnson hasn't. He finds criticism very difficult

WaitroseWoman · 06/06/2022 17:33

Cross post there with Che

ClaudineClare · 06/06/2022 17:51

He has 131 MPs publically backing him with less than 10 minutes to go before voting starts...

ClaudineClare · 06/06/2022 17:58

134 now.

ClaudineClare · 06/06/2022 17:59

135!

Blossomtoes · 06/06/2022 18:00

Not enough, is it?

tobee · 06/06/2022 18:01

Hmmm

Roussette · 06/06/2022 18:02

As it's anonymous would we really know?

Roussette · 06/06/2022 18:02

Nope. The only ones declaring are the ones that want to keep in with him I suppose. 136 now. It's nerve wracking. I don't want to hope, but I can't help it.

tobee · 06/06/2022 18:07

Just turned the telly on and realised why I don't watch tv news anymore. JRM

I sort of did at 15.20. there's more to it than that but what I posted was the bare bones

I found this all a bit silly - it was pretty clear at the time that Boris was seriously but probably not critically ill. It's not unusual for people who have been through a similar medical experience to exaggerate a bit in retrospect. We should be focusing on his many, many more serious lies.

Notonthestairs · 06/06/2022 18:13

So he's 40+ short of declared yes voters?

I'm sure he'll scrape through but more than 105-110 Noes and he's going to be weakened.

Notonthestairs · 06/06/2022 18:15

Interesting thread crunching the numbers (posted 40 mins ago so probably out of date/time!)

twitter.com/harrytlambert/status/1533846576258490372?s=21&t=6CtmZaqhZO-ocr3XROmPPw

"By my count, the PM can bank on 155 MPs at best. Another 31 probably back him. That gives Johnson 186 - and he needs 180 to survive.

But narrow survival will not be enough. A rebellion of 117 - or anything over 100 - is likely to be hard to survive for long, as many have said."

Let's put it this way; it's not going to go away

Notonthestairs · 06/06/2022 18:18

No it's not going away - Wakefield & Tiverton in 3 weeks then followed by Privileges Committee investigation (which will include Downing Street flat parties).

Oh you are funny. Yes very good.

derxa · 06/06/2022 16:41

Love him or loathe him, Blair was a charismatic and clever politician. Keir is a decent man but not greatly charismatic.

After the last few years, I'll take decency over charisma every time.
