Andrea Jenkyns got the save Johnson memo and tweeting from the train.

The Thick of It has been mentioned Grin

She used to be my MP. Thick as pigshit.

Fiona Bruce looks like she'll break into song with that headpiece on ( bbc 6 o'clock news )
The bunting is still up I see.

Great interview of Raab by Victoria Derbyshire - twitter.com/hewitson10/status/1533770412559056896 . He couldn't look more uncomfortable if he were sitting on an entire anthill.

Ha!

BBC reporter just said that May is queuing to vote in a black lace ball gown (she’s on her way to a jubilee dinner apparently).

newnamethanks · 06/06/2022 18:40

Ohhhhh Jacob Rees Mogg, please lose Boris and take this utter asterisk with you.

Respect 😂

🍷Mrs May, have a great evening and a large dish of schadenfreude, hopefully.

How nice that she’s dressed up to exact her revenge.

Notonthestairs · 06/06/2022 18:56

Liz Truss's private sec resigned to vote against Johnson - I'm sure Liz understood his reasons 😉

"Overheard…

One rebel former Cabinet minister on the way to vote passes another former Cabinet minister in a quiet corridor.

“I hope you have done your duty?”, he asks.

“I most certainly have”, comes the reply.

👀"

Absolutely.

HeritageVegetable · 06/06/2022 19:15

Amazing to hear that May's turned up in a ballgown. Better than I could have hoped: I need a photo though.

itsgettingweird · 06/06/2022 19:28

30 minutes left.

L1ttledrummergirl · 06/06/2022 19:47

I really hope that those honest, decent, men and women who still have some shred of moral and ethical standards left, and it is a shred -anyone with a true moral compass would gave written months ago- do their duty to the country and their constituents.
If there aren't enough left in the party to do the right thing then the party is dead.

I just heard someone talking about a media frenzy, how fucking tone deaf can you get?

L1ttledrummergirl · 06/06/2022 19:47

I really like May. Go gettem girl.

HeritageVegetable · 06/06/2022 20:00

Theresa May's Home Office gave us the hostile environment and the Windrush scandal, so I'm not a total fan, to put it mildly, but I do think she could define integrity without having to Google it, and she did actually understand the issues in play in Brexit, and I find her visible loathing of Johnson highly relatable.

I agree - in policy terms I oppose TM and think she is a disgrace, but in terms of character in office I think she was alright.

"Interesting re payroll vote

Just sifting through my WhatsApps from 12.12.18

Last time Team May briefed that it was a good result because 200 was 1 more that she got in leadership contest.

Rebels immediately argued she had lost majority of non-payroll vote & shd resign anyway

payroll vote is now “160-170” says IFG… including lots of actually non -paid trade envoys / PPSs etc…"

I'd assume that the May Rebels argument will be used against themselves this time around.

Peregrina · 06/06/2022 20:21

For all her faults, and she had quite a few, May is always smartly turned out, is not a liar, and certainly has an appetite for hard work. None of which apply to de Pfeffle.

carefullycourageous · 06/06/2022 20:23

Being smartly turned out is irrelevant IMO.

Lying matters. Hard work matters.

Notonthestairs · 06/06/2022 20:32

Haven't quite forgotten or forgiven the citizens of nowhere speech.
But I don't think May would have changed the rules for Paterson, arranged for £50k refit of flat, paid off Jennifer Acuri, skipped COBRA meetings, allowed Downing Street a series of piss ups or then coordinated a cover up.

carefullycourageous · 06/06/2022 20:35

I had almost forgotten about Citizens of Nowhere Angry

Peregrina · 06/06/2022 20:35

Being smartly turned out is irrelevant IMO.

Put it a different way then, being and untidy slob who can't even run a comb through his hair shows a lack of respect for his Office, and the electorate.

DuncinToffee · 06/06/2022 20:41

Four of six Scottish Tory MPs are voting for the PM to go tonight

Douglas Ross (Scottish Tory leader)
David Mundell (former Scottish Sec)
John Lamont (resigned as PPS to do)
Andrew Bowie, who just announced

Personally I don't care about appearance, just character.

carefullycourageous · 06/06/2022 20:43

Douglas Ross is very changeable!
