He's a knob head.

GenialHarryGr0ut · 28/05/2022 23:13

V loving, adventurous - cuddly on his own terms

I still miss him.

Bopahula · 28/05/2022 23:13

However. He's the friendliest knob head in the world. He loves people and will pad at your lip/eye/any exposed part of you at 4am because he wants cuddles.

I had a female ginger cat, which is meant to be very rare. She was the loveliest and most curious thing. I am not a cat person, but I miss her lots.

Jamdaisy · 28/05/2022 23:14

Ours is a dick, but he def wants attention. He would come and sit in your dinner and swipe your wine glass off the table to get it though!

GoodbyeErinsborough · 28/05/2022 23:14

Mine is incredibly stupid. But he's gorgeous so he gets away with it.

Labracadabradoodle · 28/05/2022 23:15

Mine is very vocal. He chats to me every night around the same time. He's a lovely character.

Caravanheaven22 · 28/05/2022 23:16

Ours would take your arm off if you went for a cuddle

Yes! Yes to this.

Hes also worked out DD (9) is much less likely to launch him off the bed at 4am, so if his routine doesn't work on me, he wakes her instead. Then chats loudly to her. I'm sure I threatened to Chuck both of them out of the window the other morning.

Loving and fun

CambsAlways · 28/05/2022 23:17

My parents had two ginger toms brothers very loving to parents but not interested in anyone else

AssignedBlobbyAtBirth · 28/05/2022 23:18

I have 2 ginger cats now and had a ginger years ago. All different personalities
My first female was very loving and gentle, an older rescue. Would never have hurt you
The 2 I have now. Female, very gentle but quite aloof. Likes a stroke but spends a lot of time on her own. Ginger Tom, gorgeous. Very loving, hardly roams, is always there. Amazing personality
My friend has a ginger Tom with a similar personality so perhaps it's Tom's that are the nicest
Although Female gingers are supposed to be rare I've had two, both rescues

sallydoodlecat · 28/05/2022 23:18

Adored mine. He was ginger and white. And enormous. So affectionate. Not the brightest. But adorable. Miss him.

Racingadmin · 28/05/2022 23:19

I miss my enormous, extremely dim ginger Tom that we had for 18 years even though he's been gone for the last 7.

Incredibly friendly , always looking for a lap to climb on . If he was out the front and anyone (especially the postman ) walked by he would fling himself belly up on the floor for stroking

We rescued him and his far brighter sister as kittens from the local weed dealer and I swear it made him permanently mellow

Freemc2 · 28/05/2022 23:20

The colour of a cats fur has nothing to do with their personality. Although from my experience of rescues, it’s a sad fact that many people tend to gravitate towards the ‘pretty’ ones, therefore a ginger maybe interacted with more than a cat they see as ‘less pretty’. More positive interactions may result in them being perceived as being friendlier.
In my mind all cats should be equal. I hate it when people ignore the black/ white/ black & whites and makes a beeline for the Tabby / Tortie /Gingers/ Greys.

Wobblyjob · 28/05/2022 23:20

Shits ALL OVER my garden.
Dirty ginger bastard.

theDudesmummy · 28/05/2022 23:21

I had a female ginger, for 17 years She was prickly and very very stupid. I loved her so much.

Poppins2016 · 28/05/2022 23:22

All the ginger cats I've ever known have been exceptionally friendly, affectionate cats.

Black cats are also known for being affectionate - my vet thinks they're the most affectionate colour - my own black cat is a real softy, a lap cat who comes when called and might as well be a dog!

3catsandcounting · 28/05/2022 23:22

Sawdust for brains. That was my vet's opinion. I can't disagree.

pfcpompeysarah · 28/05/2022 23:24

I had a ginger boy, he was the sweetest, most intuitive kitty ever, he's been gone 5 years now after becoming ill at 12 years of age and I miss his little paw rubs and head over my shoulder (he used to sit along the back of the sofa and put his head in the crook of my neck) every single day!

It is the same with dogs. Black ones get ignored. I have a black dog, and would love a lovely black mog to join us.

SpringIsSprung1 · 28/05/2022 23:25

Fat, fluffy and loves to be loved

JulesJules · 28/05/2022 23:25

I have had 3 - a huge gorgeous boy who lived to about 15, a beautiful girl and my current ginger boy who is so affectionate and sweet.

Rockbird · 28/05/2022 23:25

Our ginger boy is affectionate very much on his terms. Will scratch your eyes out in a flash if you get on his tits. On the other hand our fluffy black and white girl keeps her distance but we've not had a single swipe from her in 4 years. She's the most even tempered cat I've ever met.

SanFranBear · 28/05/2022 23:28

My boy is adorable - and huge although not yet a year! He's very sweet and obsessed with our kitchen tap and although he's a softie, he's not much of a lap cat! Dominates his tortie sister though which is unusual..

I'd forgive him anything though - he's lush!
