I've only known a few but they've all been male, really friendly and loving and very vocal.

Lovetok · 28/05/2022 23:30

We had a ginger and a black cat. Brothers.
Ginger was enormous (part Maine coon) and loud. If he wanted a cuddle, whoever he chose was getting a cuddle no matter what. But he would attack you the second he’d had enough. One stroke too far and the claws were out! He was the most useless hunter but would dominate his brother.
Black cat was the complete opposite to his brother - sleek, shy of strangers, but would jump on the car bonnet to greet us as we drove into the driveway. He was so incredibly beautiful - his eyes melted hearts. Even non-cat lovers!
We miss them so much :(

My ginger Tom is very gentle and affectionate, never even heard him hiss and he's 6 now. Adores our household but not keen on other people. Talks all the time.

Jamdaisy · 28/05/2022 23:35

Heres one of our little bugger!

My daughter wanted a cat and during my research on the topic I was told by multiple sources that ginger cats are supposedly great with kids and have a more maternal disposition generally speaking.

Daisycat76 · 28/05/2022 23:38

Our ginger cat is lovely. He's absolutely massive, very friendly and silly. He meows loudly to greet us whenever we come home, jumps up for cuddles on the sofa, loves to play. Very affectionate and never aggressive.

Daisycat76 · 28/05/2022 23:42

Here's a picture of him being the big weirdo he is.

Ginger girl, beyond stupid but friendly with anyone.

Grim habit of bringing home half dead wildlife (see stupidity, above.)

DramaAlpaca · 28/05/2022 23:43

Ours is enormous, fluffy, vocal and very demanding of attention. His favourite person is adult DS who carries him around in his arms like a big furry baby. I'm not permitted to do that, but he does like being held up over my shoulder. He lives with two spaniels and totally bosses them, they treat him with the utmost respect.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 28/05/2022 23:45

Mines a knob head, I've had him since he was 6 days old though and we all love him very much

He is very affectionate, he definitely has a favourite human though and its not me any more

Absolutely wild. But he is the most loving cat I've ever met.
He goes out and comes in when I call him.
He sleeps on my chest each night!
He's very chatty and friendly and great with kids etc.
This is him.

He also is prone to dribbling when he's being stroked which isn't great! He will be 1 in July

QuestionableMouse · 28/05/2022 23:57

The one I had was a thick as mince but one of the cuddliest cats I've ever owned. He used to wait for me by the door when I came in from work! Was also enormous, with huge paws!

We moved his food bowl slightly and he used to stand and stare at the spot where it had been, meowing sadly, until someone took pity on the poor starved beast and led him to the new spot two feet away! Also ended up in the bath regularly, because he could open doors and would try to walk on the bubbles. Poor bugger never learned!

redfairy · 28/05/2022 23:58

My beloved ginger boy was an absolute arse when he was younger yet mellowed into the most loving, intuitive and soulful elderly cat. My heart broke when we had to say goodbye. RIP Cyril

NeverDropYourMooncup · 28/05/2022 23:59

More white fur coating the house from just walking through the kitchen than from three white cats.

Having to put sunblock on his nose and ears. And then watch him walk over to the sunniest spot of the garden and roll around until he had a thick coating of dust and ants stuck to the sunblock. And then fall asleep before wandering in and moaning that he was too hot.

Other than that, he would wear dolls' clothes, hats, socks and was a magnificent steed for five Barbies and a Spiderman when he wasn't being trailed around the place in his carriage - a red Duplo wheeled cart.

Greyhare · 29/05/2022 00:01

My ginger and white boy was the bestest boy, he was loving, stupid, ravenous at all times, had perfected the art of jumping from various perches in the bedroom to land on your bladder in the morning forcing you to get up and therefore give him breakfast, he would knock things off the shelf whilst maintaining eye contact, he would come running shouting his head off if her heard me brushing the dogs and would force his way to the front to get himself brushed, he stupidly got very sick very quickly whilst still fairly young and no other cat will live up to his legacy.

I have never met a ginger cat that I didn't love.

torquewench · 29/05/2022 00:08

Hes a rescue. He's very chatty, extremely nosey and will investigate any drawer, cupboard or wardrobe whenever he gets the chance, and loves to sit on me whenever he can. Loves tummy rubs and Dreamies 🐈 😻

Assholeinatie · 29/05/2022 00:09

Bit of an asshole but looks good in a tie.

Well deserved.

Best cats in the world - gentle, affectionate, loving, chatty, patient...

God, I miss them.

Mariposista · 29/05/2022 00:18

My first childhood pet was a big, fluffy, loving ginger, and I still have a photo of him in my house. Wonderful boy who died just after his 18th birthday.

user1471548941 · 29/05/2022 00:34

My boy is my baby. We rescued him a year ago from the RSPCA who had picked him up off the streets and found he has FIV. Therefore we have a house cat!

He is the best cat I have ever met (grew up with them). My husband has just gone to bed and Flynn has trotted off after him. He sleeps on the same spot on our bed every night and once the automatic cat feeder has fed him breakfast, he jumps back in as acts as the little spoon, demanding cuddles and fuss. He basically would be snuggled and fussed and played with all his waking hours if we had time, he’s an absolutely sweetheart. He’s also pretty daft and the least agile cat I’ve ever met… never quite manages to jump the 1ft gap between our bed and the windowsill where he likes to sit and watch the birds!

If you don’t play with him enough, he comes and loudly tells you it’s playtime, no matter what you are doing and gets absolute cattitude about me taking Zoom calls whilst WFH; this is his cue to jump on my lap and sit facing the camera watching whoever I am talking to for the entire call! All my colleagues know the cat! I did a virtual networking event with some senior managers last week and he chose that moment to knock all our Christmas decs from our mezzanine down onto my lap…

He has absolute bags of personality and knows exactly what he wants from life! He is a pampered house kitty and I have no idea how he survived as a stray!!!

He’s also exceptionally handsome- see below evidence!

I had a female ginger cat. She was lovely. We also had a male ginger cat.

He was a pillock. Wonderful, gorgeous, friendly, soppy, but a clumsy pillock.
