Has anyone heard of tattlelife, or am I out of touch? It was mentioned on the radio today, so I had to take a look.
Wow! What a negative site, I could not believe the viciousness of the posters on there. Some of the vloggers, intagrammers I am aware of and don't particularly like, so I don't follow them, so don't understand the effort these people put into criticism and spitefullness.
I most definitely won't be going down that rabbit hole again, made me feel dirty.

I think it's great

Who cares? You don't need to announce it Hmm

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 07/05/2022 22:11

I like it, it's not all bad.

Sparklingbrook · 07/05/2022 22:16

I've looked at some of it. They often have some valid points about vloggers and influencers but not sure why they have to be so vicious about it.
I didn't persevere though because it wanted me to remove my ad blocker and I don't want to read it that badly. Grin

PuffItsGone · 07/05/2022 22:17

I like it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Rubyupbeat · 07/05/2022 22:20

@Blone why not? If you don't care, then don't answer.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 07/05/2022 22:21

I find it awful. The level of hatred on the threads I’ve seen is just horrific. They revel in their unpleasantness and think it’s ok to be verbally aggressive to someone purely because they are in the public eye.

Rubyupbeat · 07/05/2022 22:21

I just found calling children thick and dirty was a bit much for me.

Well no-one's forcing you to read it. Much like you suggested to me on this thread.

Touché!

WeDoNotTalktoPennilynLott · 07/05/2022 22:37

I've been on it for a couple years, I don't contribute much and only really stick to Mrs Hinch thread but it does open your eyes to how fake everything is, and not everyone is really awful, plus anything said is never to their face so if they seek it out that's up to them. Nobody says bad things about the kids though

Squealier · 07/05/2022 22:46

Completely depends on the thread. Lots of it is nasty bile but some of it is absolutely brilliant. Check out the Jack Monroe threads.

LemonChiffon · 07/05/2022 22:46

I agree with you. They are so horrible about these people. They will not find one good thing to say about them. And they are so invested in their lives! Like, if you hate this person so much, why do you watch all their stories and videos, then go onto a site to post about it?! And they make these wild assumptions that they know what's really going on their lives and how such and such is definitely fake.

I get there's criticisms to be made of influencers etc but these people take it to such an extreme level.

Rubyupbeat · 07/05/2022 22:46

@Blone as I said, I went on tattle through curiosity, didn't like what I read, so won't be returning.
But I notice you have returned to my thread, thank you.

Thanks for letting all of Mumsnet know that you won't be returning, we can stand down now. If you stop @ing people they won't post on your hold the front page thread.

mistermagpie · 07/05/2022 22:59

I found it because Sali Hughes did a big thing about how people in the internet were bullying her and that's where it originated. I followed her on Instagram at the time.

I quite like some of the threads, but there are some that are really really vicious and I do wonder at the posters who seem to follow influencers and celebrities who they seem disgusted by. Particularly people like random Vicky from geordie shore or whatever, for example, who you could easily avoid if you don't like her - not as if she's all over the tv and internet all the time. But it takes all sorts I suppose.

HisShirtLooksBetterOnMe · 07/05/2022 23:00

There’s some people that go a bit far but from what I’ve seen, many just say it how it is about certain vloggers/influencers/tiktokers. If you lie/exploit your kids/talk shit etc, expect to be called out for it.

TabithaHazel · 07/05/2022 23:07

Why are you telling more people about it then OP if it is such a terrible site? Or is this some kind of reverse psychology advert?

Sapphire05 · 07/05/2022 23:08

To be honest I do think it has an important place online. Sometimes influencers really are painting an unrealistic picture or trying to cover up things and as a follower, if you are wondering about something and then go to somewhere like Tattle to discuss or find out more, I think it can be really helpful. Especially when we are bombarded with influencers voices and as one of the ‘average’ people we need to look after our own mental health and have outlets to get our voices and opinions heard. Same could be said for Mumsnet.
There are many threads where people genuinely do have intelligent debates and discussions.
There are some threads which are plain bullying and I don’t waste my time reading them.

MaryAndHerNet · 07/05/2022 23:09

You've just advertised it... That's how much you hate it..

You've obviously spent a lot of time on this site you hate.

Are you an influencer by any chance?

Bimster · 07/05/2022 23:24

I’ve been on there once (after reading a Sali Hughes thing about it). Absolutely vile. Can’t help but think that people spending that much of their lives slagging off celebs must be a bit unwell.

ChildDLA · 07/05/2022 23:26

I've never heard of it! I'm off to have a look now.

I just love the Roadside Mum threads.

ENoeuf · 07/05/2022 23:31

I’ve had a look, haven’t joined. Bits of it are really interesting if you’re vaguely nosy.

LizBennet · 07/05/2022 23:35

The "Off Topic" section is good if you want something a little like Chat.
