Has anyone heard of tattlelife, or am I out of touch? It was mentioned on the radio today, so I had to take a look.
Wow! What a negative site, I could not believe the viciousness of the posters on there. Some of the vloggers, intagrammers I am aware of and don't particularly like, so I don't follow them, so don't understand the effort these people put into criticism and spitefullness.
I most definitely won't be going down that rabbit hole again, made me feel dirty.

This thread will be zapped pretty soon, MN don't like Tattle and block linking between the two sites.

It's a mixed bag there. The Jack Monroe threads are especially illuminating. Someone who came back from a trip to Venice and was complaining about not being able to afford to heat her house the next day whilst rattling the tip jar.

There's a line between exposing con artist influencers and being downright mean. Tattle crosses the line sometimes but is still a good site.

Salutatorydrinks · 08/05/2022 03:51

I always felt sorry for that kind of people at school and still do.

I’ve never actually joined it to add to it but I lurk there and read. It’s bloody funny, one persons in particular, funnier than MN and has me howling with laughter every single time I read it.
no kids involved, i don’t read much else other than this one blokes thread so can’t comment on that side of things.
but tattlers have me creased

What one?

The Team RH threads are great. They saved me £60 😁

In all seriousness, I like the fact that really shitty behaviour by companies can be called out on there. But I haven’t really explored the rest of the site.

What are the team RH threads?

KangFang · 08/05/2022 05:38

Yeah, it's pretty bad all right.
Serious amount of haters on there.

ISpyCobraKai · 08/05/2022 05:44

There's plenty of posters on both, the humour is v similar on some threads, you just need to find the right ones, obvs it also depends on who/what you're interested in.
You could completely avoid all celebrity stuff if you wanted.

nomistake · 08/05/2022 06:04

I did enjoy the Marcus Mitchell threads. Was good to see that when everyone was praising his vile and manipulative behavior on Instagram that there was a place to call it out on tattle. But agree, in some instances its just awful and sad that people commit so much time to tearing down people

Snowraingain · 08/05/2022 06:19

The vitriol against certain people can be quite shocking sometimes. I think people are fed up with the hypocrisy of certain influencers who don’t declare ads.

Its interesting that people found the site via the Sali Hughes article. She who was responsible for the most appalling bullying of Esther Walker. It was so nasty Esther Walker left Twitter. Sali has deleted all the tweets. If I remember rightly it was because Esther made some throw away comment about some random beauty thing.

Snowraingain · 08/05/2022 06:27

I don’t really go on tattle life any more but I found it because someone here told me about it.
I had been following MOD on Instagram. She was on holiday and the place looked lovely. I went to look at the price of the place she was staying in and it occurred to me that she might have been paid to stay there but there was no declaration of it being an AD. So I asked her.
Amazingly she replied - a really tirse, nasty response. Then suddenly I was just piled on no got thousands of really nasty replies. At first I tried to reply and defend myself. But it got really bad. Then she replied again and to cut a long story short - I ended up deleting my account.

Tattle life is pretty grim but some of these influencers are awful.
Someone told me recently Instagram has one person monitoring all the accounts in the US of 'celebs' selling stuff and so many just don't declare things are ads.

Wouldlovetobeinthesun · 08/05/2022 06:48

What does RH stand for?

dinofox · 08/05/2022 06:54

You do get some people on tattle who are obsessive and will just take issue with absolutely everything certain people do. However, in my experience most people are gossiping as you would in real life or just fed up of the whole influencer culture or want to call out bad behaviour.

The vast majority also don't talk about children in a derogatory way. But it begs the question - why are these children exploited in such a way that thousands of random strangers on the internet know so many details about them?

IDontDrinkTea · 08/05/2022 06:58

For those asking, I believe team RH are a fitness / fat loss organisation

FrecklesMalone · 08/05/2022 06:59

It seems to mainly be women hating in women and the occasional man. It's a strange place, stumbled on it once. Never went back. It made me realise where a lot of the open hatred of public female figures fester and spread from. It was like all the bitchy, insecure top dog girls at school found a new playground.

Teach234 · 08/05/2022 07:09

I don't post on there but I read it and think there's a lot of truth. It's opened my eyes to some 'influencers'.

veronicagoldberg · 08/05/2022 07:16

It's brilliant. The off-topic part has some great threats, plus you're allowed to be gender critical and the mods won't try to censor you like MN.

veronicagoldberg · 08/05/2022 07:16

Threads!

Electricbug321 · 08/05/2022 07:20

It is a cesspit full of very sad and and unpleasant people.

It's not though! There are countless threads where women support each other, give advice, etc.

Foolsgold1 · 08/05/2022 07:26

It's better than mumsnet. Reddit is too.
Everything on this site gets taken down or the thread is closed. Its got worse on here recently.
Tattle life calls people out on making thousands of pounds out of doing nothing. Plus the little poems at the start of a new thread make me smile.

user014852 · 08/05/2022 07:28

@Foolsgold1 it sounds like you are just jealous, so what if they make money doing nothing.

Foolsgold1 · 08/05/2022 07:32

@user014852 not jealous at all. Love my house, job and lifestyle.
I feel bad for people making thousands that have no real skill or talent though. Bit boring and unfulfilling isn't it.
Enjoy your Sunday 🙂

I found the site via the rant Sali did on her Instagram a couple of years ago.

I followed her then and was becoming increasing suspicious of her motives in recommending products and that she actually wasn't a very nice person either (the situation you describe and also one with Dawn O'Porter and other long-deleted horrible tweets she made), so I had a look. I broadly agreed with everything the posters wrote in her thread on tattle to be honest and it was an eye opener. I think that's where tattle is good. It's less good in other places where it can get quite unnecessarily cruel.

tiredanddangerous · 08/05/2022 07:43

I had a brief look at it once when it was mentioned on here so I'm not qualified to comment on the whole site. The few threads I saw though were full of nasty bullies. I felt like I'd discovered the place the high school bullies go to hang out once they've left school. I've not been tempted to go back.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 08/05/2022 07:44

I'm on there more than I'm on here. Its ine of the first sites I go on during the day . Yes some posters cross a line now and again but rarely do you get threads pulled for no reason and sites as " not being in the spirit "
Posters there are much more supportive of eachother than here . This place is often referred to as being of a nest of vipers, and the majority of the time it is
People on here can be disgusting and cruel to eachother and I've never seen that there
Right you nusty lot I'm off to the other side because this thread is going to be pulled as for some reason MN doeant like tattle

It's brilliant. The off-topic part has some great threats, plus you're allowed to be gender critical and the mods won't try to censor you like MN.

That would be because TRAs don't constantly monitor TL for perceived "transphobia", target advertisers and try to bring spurious legal action against it, all of which they do to Mumsnet.
