Has anyone heard of tattlelife, or am I out of touch? It was mentioned on the radio today, so I had to take a look.
Wow! What a negative site, I could not believe the viciousness of the posters on there. Some of the vloggers, intagrammers I am aware of and don't particularly like, so I don't follow them, so don't understand the effort these people put into criticism and spitefullness.
I most definitely won't be going down that rabbit hole again, made me feel dirty.

I like it. Its been very eye opening about certain "influencers" PTWM and Ashley Cain being two, calling them out on where the money they've raised has gone.

I don't like the the comments about looks etc but there are some very good points raised.

The "influencers" hate it because they hate being called out and not having people blow smoke up their arse.

The jack monroe threads are an absolute cespit, vile vile vile disgusting comments all while thinking they're funny. When did mocking someone for their mental health struggles become acceptable

I disagree. The people on there have brought to light what a huge grifter and liar Monroe is. They are very enlightening. For example, for all Monroe's lefty credentials and yelling at Tory politicians on Twitter, she hasn't paid her taxes in about two years and earns at least two grand a month through her Patreon which provides absolutely nothing to her subscribers, all while Monroe claims to be living on the breadline.

You are clearly a tattler. Jack Monroe's personal tax is private. No one has any idea if she's paid her tax or not! This is the dangerous stuff, people act as if they know when they don't know.

So what if jack makes 2 grand a month. It people want to support her activism which is very effective at feeding poor people and stopping them freeze to death then good on her! I would support her twitter work if I was in a position to do so.

2 grand and a child doesn't go very far!

Polkadotties · 08/05/2022 09:08

I do find it ironic when influencers call out tattle and all it does is drive more users to the site, who after having a nosey around realise it’s not just a bitchfest

What radio show was it on? Did they mention the abuse that people are subjected to? Hopefully an MP will take it on as a cause to clean up.

Comments about behaviour are fine, but so much of the bitchy comments are below the belt.

megletthesecond · 08/05/2022 09:12

Tattle is really good at calling influencer lies out. I dont do instagram as I suspected it's all smoke and mirrors anyway. There is certainly too much spite in places though.

pebimo6 · 08/05/2022 09:13

This other thread confirms that tattle routinely allows people to share influencers addresses www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4541601-to-think-mumsnet-doesnt-deserve-its-reputation?reply=117025013

How can people defend such behaviour?

Sunnysideup · 08/05/2022 09:18

I looked at the mrs hinch threads and felt a bit disturbed and I don’t get squeamish easy. It seems to be a bunch of folks absolutely and utterly obsessed with her. They watch everything she posts obsessively then posting venom about it immediately, they count her followers, speculate on her kids, her appearance, her marriage, her family, what she has, it’s literally a form of stalkng, and the level of obsession is unhealthy,

its really quite sad.

Bogofballs · 08/05/2022 09:19

Although the site is full of vitriol and I feel sorry for some obsessive posters (get a life springs to mind!) BUT they are doing a public service in naming and shaming the scammers and liars who are sadly so prolific in this social media age. Hopefully it’ll make it more difficult for others thinking about employing the same dishonest tactics.

What activism might that be? What has she actually don't for the people she claims to represent? She tells them that you can actually feed yourself on £20 a week which is playing right into the Tories hands.

Her Patreon is at least 2 grand a month (probably more like between 3 and 4) and that's without taking into account the numerous tv appearances, book royalties and newspaper articles, but she pleads poverty so that people with a lot less money than her will donate to her Patreon to fund her 'activism' which appears to be tweeting 12 hours a day. What would actually be more helpful to people in poverty would be paying her tax. Oh and the info about her not paying her tax is all out there on the govt website, so yes, I do have an idea that she hasn't paid it. Check for yourself. Or have a peek on Tattle. You know you want to...

LidlMissSunshine · 08/05/2022 09:27

@pebimo6 If you look on Companies House you can see most influencers’ addresses as a routine matter of public record.

Also, if you look on Companies House at Jack Monroe’s company, you’ll see she is several years late to file any accounts or pay any tax.

Fifi0102 · 08/05/2022 09:27

I've been on tattle for quite a while and while it's good at exposing fakery. The critiquing of appearance is outright visious, they literally pull them apart. I also think the site never criticises men like they do women.

The Alice Evans thread for instance I don't like the woman but they seem hell-bent on comparing her to a woman who's 20 years younger !! Also making accounts on Twitter and Instagram to make comments to her brother its pathetic and very strange . Also the worship of IG who's pissed off to the UK for 3 months with his GF and doesn't seem that concerned about his children. If you question IG's behaviour at all you get piled on. Overall the site is ok but I've noticed men seem to get more of a free pass.

Exactly. All this is in the public domain. You don’t need to search very hard to find it.

Tinyleopard · 08/05/2022 09:34

I just don't get it. If you hate someone so much why you'd bother spending literal hours of your life watching them intently to then go talk about how awful they are? It's like self harm almost it's totally bizarre.

I probably just don't give enough of a shit about anyone's taxes or the last think whatever Instagram blogger has claimed it has 0 effect on my life!

Whoever said the Stacey Solomon thread was illuminating or whatever, that's the one I just looked at and what's illuminating about whether her baby is still in her Jamas or how she does her washing?

Who honestly gives a shit about that Grin

No you can't. You can see their accountants addresses on companies House. The fact that so many are hell bent on finding addresses and posting them on tattle is concerning!

ermagerdabear · 08/05/2022 09:47

As far as I'm aware, posting addresses on Tattle isn't allowed and any that are posted are swiftly deleted. However, for a lot of these influencers, it isn't hard to work out exactly where they live due to the sheer amount of info they themselves give out. For those with children especially, they're either a bit thick or absolutely desperate for attention and can't help showing off.

MistyFuckingQuigley · 08/05/2022 08:39

Found the tattlelife user 🤣

I’m one as well. I like that there’s less hand-wringing and virtue signalling than there is on MN.

Handsnotwands · 08/05/2022 09:49

influencer culture is a huge huge business, one of the most lucrative of current times, and largely unregulated.

where else would you have individuals commanding huge fees to sell products with no transparency? Where anyone questioning the authenticity of their claims is simply deleted? Where the very essence of what is going on (selling stuff) is shrouded in subterfuge, secrecy and outright denial.

and that’s before we even get onto using their Children's lives to sell stuff. Their tantrums, their birthdays, their downtime colouring in at the table, their illnesses ffs Can. You. Imagine?? Out there in the public domain forever more. There’s going to be a lot of teenagers needing a lot of therapy in a few years.

LidlMissSunshine · 08/05/2022 09:55

pebimo6 · 08/05/2022 09:39

Part of the very valid criticism of influencers is that it is far too easy to identify where they live. The overshare so much - posting pictures of the inside and outside of their houses, pictures of their children’s bedrooms for fucks sake. When you make your living posting images of your young children and their intimate spaces online for every random in the world to see, you really ought to make sure that no one can find out where you live.

Any addresses posted on Tattle are deleted swiftly. It’s frowned on and not part of the etiquette there. But if addresses are mentioned at all, it’s not to instigate a bunch of people turning up on the doorstep, it’s to point out the alarming fact that if a simple reverse image search on Google can reveal the address of an influencer’s new house and therefore the likely name of the school their children will be attending, then that is staggeringly negligent.

They certainly criticise Chris Ingham which is when I first heard of tattle. I was shocked by the pile of presents the Ingham family had at Christmas and the subsequent allegations.

Agree some people can be nasty. Some can be extremely witty. Some are measured posts, others not so much. People can be nasty here too its just more heavily moderated.

Thesearmsofmine · 08/05/2022 10:04

I think there are a lot of valid points regarding influencers raised over on Tattle and it was born because people felt there was no other way to discuss these issues openly.
I have never seen an address posted on there and I imagine if that happened it would be quickly deleted just as it would on here, yet I do know exactly where a couple of influencers live simply because of the information they have openly put online.

Rantypanties · 08/05/2022 10:05

Ok Jack…..

Noones looking on companies house for her address- you can quite clearly see that her accounts are overdue. She posted a pic on Twitter crying that she was one of the forgotten self employed during Covid however also had her Daily kitchen slot, a five figure sum (her words) from Helmanns and 2 collabs with Linda McCartney and Del Monte. She also claimed furlough for her company she’s not paid tax for for 2 years. My eyes were really opened when I read this, especially because she’s in the habit of deleting tweets.

The way she uses language so she can’t be caught outright lying is very clever and I’m so glad of Tattle so it can be seen.

Rantypanties · 08/05/2022 10:06

Oh cmon, we have all seen the site, it’s no where near some intelligent discussion on issues with influencers, it’s predominantly obsessed jealous posters stalking, speculating and ripping them apart.

intelligent discussion can take place on many sites, Inc on here, tattlelife is not that. I’d be ashamed to be part of it.

Flavourflava · 08/05/2022 10:17

Do the Jack Monroe people have an alert for her all across the internet? It's so weird, literally any time she's mentioned anywhere they appear "ACTUALLY HER DAD WAS A LANDLORD AND SHE DOESN'T PAY HER TAX".

I haven't kept up with her since she used to flounce off Twitter every two weeks and her list of ailments became laughable. I assume she hasn't changed but this behaviour is also completely unhinged. Ok, you don't like her, calm down.
