And so the madness continues! Here's our 9th thread to discuss, boast and rant about the game that is more pointless than Pointless, needs Masterminds to solve and will make Eggheads of us all, what with the amount of hair-pulling it induces!

I solved Semantle #72 in 140 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 8.70. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #10. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 11.08. semantle.novalis.org/

Thanks Choux, finally got it on guess 273 I was stuck at 994 for quite a while. I tried a few antonyms early on and didn’t get anywhere so gave up on it. I often get taken in by an early close one and go down the wrong path! Oh dear it is after 5am…

I thought it would be easier today, as got my first green early on. Now 80 guesses later, I don't think I have ever had so many high greens and not been able to get the answer!
Please can someone send me a hint?

Really should of got it sooner. Never had a green so early.

Another one with a huge collection of greens but not getting it today. I'm following two tracks and genuinely have no idea which is the right one. Top or bottom (both of those are cold BTW)?

I didn't get those ones bit I would have thought your high ones will be on the right lines. My 990 and 988 were reasonably good synonyms.

I solved Semantle #72 in 30 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 2.16. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #19. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 14.89.

Can’t believe I got it so quickly today - my first green could have gone in two different directions and it was lucky I picked the right track to follow.

I have tried every synonym and every related word, obvious and otherwise, and still not getting it!

I am in the same boat! Am running out of synonyms entirely.
I expect that I will be kicking myself when I actually get it, or give up!

Needed a bit of synonym inspiration for this one, but got there in the end.

I solved Semantle #72 in 125 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 11.89. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #56. My penultimate guess had a similarity of -0.68. semantle.novalis.org/

I now have 811 and 572 as well but don't seem to be going anywhere. Any clues?
