And so the madness continues! Here's our 9th thread to discuss, boast and rant about the game that is more pointless than Pointless, needs Masterminds to solve and will make Eggheads of us all, what with the amount of hair-pulling it induces!

I solved Semantle #76 in 75 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 23.26. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #7. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 18.58.

Needed the clues to steer thinking after a few in mid 900s.

Whew... got it without looking here for clues, after being stuck for ages on 969 and similar

I solved Semantle #77 in 116 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 4.96. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #14. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 43.51 (938/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Hit a few greens but then lost my way, but happily back on track after a useful clue!

Urgh, I got 633 with my first word but it definitely hasn’t helped, I can’t get beyond 982 - every word I think of that would be a reaction to that is a lower green 😐

We've been playing competitive family semantle the last few days.

I'm sorry to say I didn't cover myself in glory on day 1/2 but pulled it back day 3/4!

It's a lot more tricky when you can't peruse the thesaurus and access the MN collective hive mind along the way.

Well, Mumsnet decided to freeze on me after my comment but then @InMySpareTime’s clue to @Choux suddenly clicked and I got it, not quite believing it took so long! And thanks for your clue to me @Inmysparetime that would definitely have given it to me too I think. Pleased with today for sure!

that was painful, probably about 60 greens & 132 guesses to get it...

This was bizarre! I got 584 on guess 30, which actually led me to the answer by 53.

Lucky early break and then it was just a process of trying lots of related words out.

Actually it's fine, just put in another word and got it!. Got a high 500s on my first word!
