And so the madness continues! Here's our 9th thread to discuss, boast and rant about the game that is more pointless than Pointless, needs Masterminds to solve and will make Eggheads of us all, what with the amount of hair-pulling it induces!

Now struggling with synonyms of 994 and 991!

My trusty Oxford thesaurus failed me today and I had to use an online American one…
I solved Semantle #72 in 175 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 10.54. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #12. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 23.14. semantle.novalis.org/

I solved Semantle #72 in 94 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 29.58 (589/1000).My penultimate guess had a similarity of 23.50. semantle.novalis.org/

Had to Google synonyms of 994 as the word just was not top of my vocabulary. My very first guess was 589 but still struggled a bit from there.

Are these taking me in the right direction? Can't get any further using 831 so trying to work out if that's my idiocy or not.

I went to my second highest word for synonyms. (Highest was only 972 anyway!) and got it!

Thanks @ErrolTheDragon that set me on the right path - one I wouldn't have got to very easily otherwise! I ended up getting it pretty quickly, but i'd been in a 40 guess loop while for a while.

Aaaargh. There are no more synonyms! I've used every related word. I hate this game!

Can't get beyond 967. Next green is very similar at 911, so is this the path I should be following?

Very few greens today and most are low, which aren't really helping!

Blimey!! Thank goodness for the thesaurus as others have said. For the first time ever today I got 1/1000 in the greens - basically a kick in the teeth
