Got it in 55

I solved Semantle #71 in 62 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 24.12 (65/1000).My penultimate guess had a similarity of 14.24. semantle.novalis.org/

An agonising crawl up through 991, 992, 993 and 997 before finally getting there! But much better than yesterday.

Posted on the old thread. My best score, helped by a mid green on my first guess.

I had to give up yesterday after 100 guesses without a green so this is very satisfying.

I solved Semantle #71 in 29 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 27.10 (503/1000).My penultimate guess had a similarity of 18.27. semantle.novalis.org/

I solved Semantle #71 in 15 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 0.68. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #9. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 60.00 (997/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

72 for me today, mingled a bit too long in the high 990s before eventually hitting the right one. Pretty logical, but there is another meaning (in fact at least 2) to this word and I'm amazed that they barely get a feature in the related words - maybe one or two.

Not really - think beyond domestic setting. 827 is getting there, but wrong kind. (Hard to say more without being too obvious!)

A look at all the words for today also shows just how American Semantle is in its orientation. I doubt many of us here (in the UK/non-Americans) would have guessed many of these.

@squirrelnutkins1 I'm afraid those are all pretty misleading. The root word is in the same type as those things, but otherwise unrelated.
