Being curious how many of you are thinking to vote Labour in May election just as a revenge to the superiority that carried by Tory?

I haven't done my research yet, so can't say certainly I'd do it. But they're lots of things we are not happy with the local council. Usually may not warrant a change of vote (probably just not bother to vote). But the whole partygate thing made me almost determined to vote Labour in May.

Tory didn't care what the public feel or think, carrying on to find excuses for their corrupted government. And that guy, that guy who's born as a natural lier, I can't even bear to hear his voice anymore. Something needs to be done, when their party refuse to change or at least show the public their remorse. I feel I need to do something.

How many of you feel the same?

Before someone jumps in saying that GC isn’t rightwing - this is the company you’re in:

US Republican party ‘ Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is calling on “licensed professionals” and “members of the general public” to report the parents of transgender minors to state authorities if it appears the minors are receiving gender-affirming medical care.’;

Vladimir Putin ‘If someone thinks that women and men are the same thing, then be my guest. But there is common sense.’

"Water is wet" Hitler

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/03/2022 09:37

Sadly for some people on here even ridiculous women still have a vote.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/03/2022 09:52

I'm going to illustrate all the many reasons why I, a former Labour member, will not be voting for them:

Their support of misogynist troll Lily Madigan as "women's officer" and other such characters

Their abuse of all women shortlists to allow males to stand as "women"

MPs joining secret Facebook groups set up to doxx gender critical women, get them suspended from the party and get them sacked, keeping Stasi like lists in breach of Data Protection law

Suspending gender critical women in disciplinary proceedings worthy of O'Brien and Winston Smith

Key MPs signing a pledge to persecute gender critical feminists within the Labour Party

Key MPs saying that they believed MTF transgender sex criminals had the right to go into women's prison

A leader and numerous MPs who can't bring themselves to define the word woman in any coherent way and make themselves and the party a laughing stock

A party that turns a blind eye to the horrific online abuse of gender critical female MP Rosie Duffield, egged on by left wing commentators on social media

A hugely misogynistic culture overall, with a history of telling women their rights can wait until more important things have been achieved.

I've probably forgotten some, but hopefully that gives an idea of why many women will be making the only protest they can, by not voting for them.

MarshaBradyo · 15/03/2022 09:56

@bellinisurge

Liz Truss is an idiot but just about smart enough to a) know what a woman is because she is one; and b) know what will keep votes away from Labour.
It’s so odd when someone stating a biological fact feels like it takes courage.

Sounds like a good start.

@MyKingdomforaNameChange

I will consider voting Labour when they can tell me what a woman is.
Same.

Well, that's a depressing list.

MPs joining secret Facebook groups set up to doxx gender critical women

Do you have proof to back up that allegation and can you please provide a list of them?

HopefulProcrastinator · 15/03/2022 10:14

No chance Labour are getting my vote in the local elections. Aside from their complete refusal as a party to acknowledge that sex based protections need to be retained our local labour led council are so corrupt they make Boris look like an upstanding citizen.

Locally it looks like Plaid can knock them off their perch, however I have substantial issue with Plaid too. I'm going to have to research my independents a bit more because I'd spoil my vote before voting Tory.

There's a post about that somewhere hereabouts. I think it included either screenshots or tweets/posts from members of it referring to to it.

I am trying to remember some key terms that would shorten as search. It was set up by aides, CLP members, Madigan alikes (maybe Madigan personally) and the list of people in it included both male and female MPs.

Anyone else have a better memory than me? I know it was a few years ago, it was part of why I sent my membership card back!

That started to sound like the QAnon conspiracy about the Democrats's secret circle Grin

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie

Are people really fucking stupid enough to think Boris and his evil pals give the slightest toss about you? Or are you all actually Nadine Dorries with multiple names?
Yeah. There's only one of us. But do keep on calling us fucking stupid, it really helps encourage women to vote for your party of choice.
DomesticatedZombie · 15/03/2022 10:19

Wes Streeting was the Labour MP on that facebook list. It's perfectly legit, I'll see if I can find a thread.

You can't see the membership of the Facebook group when you click on the link.

HappydaysArehere · 15/03/2022 10:36

Can’t believe some of these posts. Surely you vote on a number of issues and not just one. The difficulty I have voting in the May council election is that our local Tory Council is good but I would like to demonstrate my anti-Johnson Government stance. However, I will probably have to save that for a general election when, if Keir Starmer continues to furnish his opposition cabinet with serious politicians who have the Country’s best interests as a priority rather than their own I will vote Labour. Thank goodness we now have an alternative.

SamphiretheStickerist · 15/03/2022 10:37

That's because it was taken down, zubbed. It was deemed a tad too enlightening and Madigan (I am glad I remembered that aright) took it down when things started to get a little too real at their end! It was reported so often I think they got told to remove it.

And it was 4+ years ago. It was unlikely to have still been there regardless!

ilovesooty · 15/03/2022 10:43

Well unless I can see a list and there is proof of this activity it's not a statement that can be backed up.

Sadly you are at least 4 years too late! Almost all of the stuff from that time has been deleted. It was happeing at the time, as we read th files

some serious back tracking going on in that evidence folder indeed, names deleted all over the shop

And it was deleted in Jan 18. But some MNers had already sent the files to all members of Labour's National Executive Committee. Do you think that was a lie, all made up?

Read the threads supplied. The screenshots included.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3144285-Labour-Against-Transphobia-Facebook-group

And would you treat all of history like that? Reports of the time not allowed as evidence for something having occurred?

ilovesooty · 15/03/2022 10:58

That's an old thread. I'm looking for evidence of what is going on now.

SamphiretheStickerist · 15/03/2022 11:03

But Ereshkigalangcleg's post was about what has happened that has infomred her choices. Some of those things are 4 years old. Including the thing you won't believe unless you can read it, which the vagaries of SM won't allow, and seem to want it to be popped into a time machine.

What is going on now is a continuation of that, of CLP ousting GC women (which is what that list was for, to name us and get rid of us), and insisting that men can be women - as said out loud by Starmer at the end of last week.
