Last year there was a lovely long running thread about doing one thing a day that you've been putting off, or just to enjoy the cumulative effect of one extra daily 'thing'.
I'd like to start again, if anyone would like to join me.

Today, I have pulled out a drawer of a little used bureau cabinet, got rid of what is junk, and wiped the drawer out and organised what's left a bit more neatly.

Hello everyone. Regular name-changing smugger here.

I’ve been hit by some worrying health stuff and so have done nothing except medical visits. I wrote a lovely and hilarious post to you all last week and got the dreaded refresh just as I was about to hit post and it’s going to sound ridiculous but it really knocked my confidence e on top of all the other shit.

praise Alan for robot hoovers is where I’m at right now.

Sounds fun @SummerLobelia. I enjoy bowling but haven’t been for years. And a bus adventure is always good with children. DS loved going on buses because it was something he did very rarely. We lived overseas when he was a child and travelled back to Ireland and the UK a lot so he was on planes more than buses.

Hope you are ok @BuenoSucia. That’s so frustrating about your post that you lost. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to tip us over the edge. And I’m praising Alan for you for your robot hoover too! I had one years ago but it died and I didn’t replace it.

Posted before I meant to!

I didn’t do the utility room yesterday so that still on my list. Or the ironing. Went to get the bedding I’d taken off DS’s bed on Tuesday to wash yesterday morning and it had disappeared from the laundry basket in the landing. He’d stripped off the new bedding and put the dirty bedding back on because the clean bedding didn’t feel nice. Hmm. So I stripped his bed again, washed and dried the original bedding and put it back on. He is 21 and fussy and I think can do his own bed from now on!

Today’s extra task is to take a lamp and tv off the dining table and move them upstairs. They were in the things DS brought back from uni and DH dumped them on the table a few days ago.

I have a parcel to wrap and post and I need to take the mattress topper from DS’s bed to be cleaned. And a cheque to lodge into the bank. And a supermarket shop to do. Might take my kindle and have a nice coffee somewhere too.

I'm knackered but happy. The folks are out and I'm having a belated lunch and a flop. Next up is a bit of a reset around the place. It's got the busy family household look about it. So much extra stuff!
All the best to all of you ❤

Noticed we're nearly full. Reckon I should start another thread?

Yes please to a new thread @Solosunrise. It definitely helps me keep on track of achieving even one little thing.

sounds like you are having a lovely time with your guests.

I haven’t done my list of things I said I’d do. At least not all of them. Did move the lamp and tv.

This morning we moved a wooden filing cabinet from the living room to a shed which has been in the planning for a while. The living room is my nemesis. But getting the cabinet out and we had new curtains and blinds put up last week has inspired me a bit to start sorting it. It’s going to be a big project and mostly won’t be done until next year but a good declutter will help it look better and help us decide what to do with the room in general.

also this morning DH and I spent time sorting and moving stuff around in the garage. A tip run is booked for Tuesday and we have a pile of things ready to go. Also have moved things around so we can find things. It’s not finished but we made a good start. Then it needs a good clean. Lots of cobwebs and mouse droppings. Ugh.

Yes please to a new thread @Solosunrise !

I've not done much today. Back at work on Monday and so just doing regular things like ironing and washing. I need something lovely to do tomorrow so the thought does not depress me too much!

I'm on a tea break! I've put things in rooms they belong in. I have a wash to hang out and a load to put away from yesterday.
Really, I need to shine my sink and go from there (regular readers know I like the flylady system) I do have shoes on. Nice indoor ones. God I sound old!
I then intend to do an hour with ten min timer for each room. My family (all offspring) have volunteered to help paint a couple of rooms, so I need to clear the decks. That's the hard part!
House needs modernising really but with winter worries looming we need to keep hold of purse strings till we know how it pans out, but a good scrub and a lick of paint will cheer the old place up a bit. DH and I have been putting it off, so are welcoming a bit of youthful enthusiasm!

@SummerLobelia I have PM'd you

@Peridot1 you've done loads, even if not all on your list! I like the idea of a tip run being booked. Can't get out of it then!
@SummerLobelia let us know what you plan for tomorrow! The bowling sounds like a great day out, as does the bus ride.

It's been fun doing days out with the family. We've been to a few places we did when they were children- partly to show our future dil who's not visited the UK before. And partly a trip down memory lane. Days out with adults are such a joy without the bickering, pestering for ice cream and all that goes with kids and days out 😅 And now they have come through the following stage of not wanting to be out with parents too. I can highly recommend!

Any suggestions for naming the next thread? @BuenoSucia if you're feeling well enough I'm certain you can come up with a smug catchy title BrewCake

We are home! 2 weeks away, the dc are already on tech, it's like the beach is a distant memory already.
I am now panicking that it's 2 weeks till school goes back, so much to sort yet.

Welcome home @RunningKatie! Were you in UK or elsewhere?
I'm all of a sweat. I'm attempting one small thing in all departments- not just in the house. So as i have morning off work and no family to do things with just now, I have been out for a 20 min walk. Started this daily but lost mojo during heatwave. I have also done stretches and stood on one leg for 30 secs each leg. I pondered on the daily stoic quote on my walk, and I have completed a memory test reasonably successfully. And watered my geraniums.
Now its half an hour of doing some actual cleaning as yesterday was mainly putting things away.
And then I am going to see my mother, who can be challenging.

I suspect this afternoon will be olympic standard doing not much at all. Though I have work shirts that probably need ironing.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone 😘

I spent the last few mornings digging up some massive bramble roots that had taken hold. Despite all of the rain the ground is really dry.
Today I'm going to sort out some more things to list on ebay.

We were in the Uk @Solosunrise - it was warm but by the coast so not boiling. We had to take ddog and he mostly managed, he's glad to be home though!

Today has been a gardening day, it looked totally neglected so we've mown and cut things back. Dh is fretting that it's preparing for winter, but I think it just looks more welcoming.

Morning!

Today I need to take the Dcs for haircuts when I am on my lunchbreak.

I also plan to update and revise my project 'to do' list. And I need to deadhead roses and geraniums.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning all.

welcome back @RunningKatie.

This morning I’ve washed two blankets that sit on the sofas in the living room. That may be as much as I achieve today as I’m going to get my hair done this afternoon.

New thread! Sadly no clever name, but at least it's done - given that's the theme of this thread 😀
