Another daily project

Last year there was a lovely long running thread about doing one thing a day that you've been putting off, or just to enjoy the cumulative effect of one extra daily 'thing'.
I'd like to start again, if anyone would like to join me.

Today, I have pulled out a drawer of a little used bureau cabinet, got rid of what is junk, and wiped the drawer out and organised what's left a bit more neatly.

Yesterday I cleaned out my entire fridge. Something red/brown had spilled under the bottom veg drawer and stayed there as I'd been convinced for over a year that I couldn't get the drawer out. I finally got it out and it now all looks spotless. So satisfying!

This is a fantastic idea. Can I join? Today I finally took my gas meter reading and submitted it (I hadn't done so for over a year and was terrified about the potential outcome) Turned out it has taken a weight off mind as I am in credit...for now anyway 🙄

I'm going to get dc into bed and then read back through this thread for inspiration.

I remember this thread from last year and it was a great help. I’ve been trying to do a job a day recently and it def helps. Lovely to have company again!

I have a lot to do at home but am currently staying at my Dad’s house. He passed away last July and we are gradually clearing the house. Not in any hurry thankfully. It’s a comfort to be here and to be able to stay. We moved here when I was a baby and there is a lot to clear!

I did a shelf of paperwork yesterday. Found the kindle I had bought dad for his birthday a few years ago unused. Mine is about to give up so I now have a new kindle!

Tomorrow I’ll sort a pile of books that are on the landing. Some are too old and damp to be of use but some will go to the charity shop.

Hello everyone! Quite a team now. @Snozwanger well done with the fridge! Reminds me I have some spillages in my freezer (peas and some frozen herbs etc, from packs not properly sealed)
Might be tomorrow's one thing.

Hello @Peridot1 I remember you from before ( I have name changed but I didn't start the threads) I wonder if @BlueLobelia is still about

I’d love to join if I may! Over the last week my achievements have been - sort the airing cupboard, decluttering and organising DD4’s room, size ordering DD6mo baby grows etc, doing the kitchen one cupboard at a time.
Tomorrow’s big project will be to declutter the horror that is the Welsh dresser - it’s the current dumping ground and home to about 500 plastic bags.

Hi all,

I have a million jobs because we’ve just done a whole house renovation and are now moving back in and trying to finish things the builders haven’t got around to.

Yesterday I put up curtain poles and curtains in the snug. Today I put seals in the French doors and I’m about to put another coat of oil on the wooden worktops.

Crikey @Fernsinthegarden and @User76745333, you two really have your hands full.
I hope this will become a nice little community, as happened on the old thread, where we can inspire each other and be cheerleaders!

This is a good idea for a thread. I finally tided and cleaned the utility room after putting it off for weeks. Sometimes you just need to get started and then the job doesn’t seem too bad at all.

I do love the idea of that @Solosunrise! Thank you for (re)starting the thread. We moved house last year and there’s so much stuff held in storage that I need to bin/find a home for/donate and I’ve made it my mission to get through it all by the end of the summer! Just dealing with what is in the house first and then I’ll have the headspace to start bringing in the rest of the boxes bit by bit.

Today I have summarised the PCC meetings over the last year ready to go into the annual meeting booklet; as well as noting everyone's election status and who is writing group reports.

In time for the Standing Committee meeting! Have sent the others a copy.

Oh I know! I need to put sheet etc back on spare bed (which has been sheetless since last week and I know the cat has been sleeping on the bed Blush )

I sorted out the recycling and put some stuff out in the shed rather than cluttering up the hall.

Hello! I am so excited to see the thread going! I was BlueLobelia who started the other thread then flounced motnhs ago after having a barney on the covid boards. Blush

I am thrilled to see @Solosunrise keeping the thread going. :) I'd love to join in on this thread also. And it is timely because I have re-registered and have agreed with DH a small pot of funds for 2022 that I am allowed to use for projects this year. :) First things first I need to get some curtains fitted.

And yesterday I replanted some of my old pots with pansies.

We managed half of a project for today... Hmm

We picked up a load of stone chippings, after weeks of putting it off, but now it’s raining so we can’t fill the borders.

Helloooo! I too had a bit of a flounce and a name change 😅
I'm so glad you're back Flowers
Congratulations on the curtain negotiations. I think I remember husband having hoarding tendencies.
I loved the threads- so soothing in a troubled world Smile

Can I join in? I was on the very first thread last year then life ran away with me!
Yesterday i wiped down the internal doors downstairs and mended a football top.
Today I'm going to meal plan and write the shopping list, plus try to return a chair to a friend

God yes hoarding. Blush I moan alot about IRL and clearly on MN too.

It's taken me years to get him to agree to me having a list of projects he has no input into. Baby steps... :)

2022 is going to be a good year. :) Thanks

I am great at motivation for big projects, except there's always little bits and pieces left undone that never get finished! So I decided 2022 was my year to finally clear those things. Today I painted a door and a radiator. I also cleaned the kitchen and did my washing!

I have a million small jobs to do, so it would be great to keep this thread going.

Hi @SnowWhiteLobelia! I’m doing well thank you. Lovely to see you! I have blue lobelias in pots on my patio last year in your honour for starting the thread! Glad your DH is more on board.

I’m in the middle of today’s task which is clearing out the medicine cupboard. How many lancets for diabetes testing did one man need and why on Earth do they go out of date?

Lovely to see you too @Peridot1 :)

I am so delighted I found your thread @Solosunrise :) I am really pleased to join and see old faces. I've been grumpily lurking on MN for months telling myself I will not re-register. ;)

I'm thrilled that the thread eventually took off!! It required some persistence as it kept slipping down the board.
Delighted that some previous regulars have found us, and happy to 'meet' some new daily project people
@SnowWhiteLobelia do feel free to take the lead in the next one, as it was your idea x

I would not dream of taking the lead after I flounced without warning or goodbyes the last one. :)

I am very much looking forward to being a part of your thread. As long as I stick to this thread, 'what's for dinner' threads and the feminism chat board I should hopefully be safe from flouncing again. (every now and again i get cross). Grin

My good intentions fell off a cliff so I’m currently crawling toward the finish line where the kids go to bed and I’m left glaring into the bottom of an empty wine glass. Hoping tomorrow is a better day 😂 sounds like others have had a good productive day though so well done!
