WTF just came out of my arse??!!

NOT A POO TROLL!!

Been for a poo, and basically a bit of poo was hanging on something that looked like dental floss. I pulled the rest out EnvyConfused and it was about 25-30cm in length! The consistency of stretchy, stringy dental floss.

Any suggestions? It didn't look segmented so I'm hoping it's not a tapeworm!

No unwormed pets, no foreign travel; yesterday I had soup for lunch and spag Bol for supper - no it wasn't a piece of spaghetti Grin

My friend didn't find hers until a piece came out several years after her trip. She was passing it for quite a few weeks once the tablets took effect...

And with it being quite big it could quite well have been there for a few years and (since you don't mention any movement) just died naturally so came out.

Most cases of parasites from eating food like Sushi or pork originate in countries without the same hygiene standards of Britain/France/Spain etc.

You're unlikely to catch a parasite from YoSushi!

Is it possible you have swallowed some kind of dental floss, maybe string from a joint or something? You'd think you'd notice but it's a nicer thought than a worm.

Have you eaten a pepperami and not taken the condom thing off?

I’ve just spent five minutes trying to think of ways the young folk could be rolling their joints that involved string 😂 you meant a different kind of joint didn’t you?

I have nothing helpful to add expect I recall watching a show where Micheal Mosley got a tapeworm to see what would happen. He then took medicine to kill it. The viewer was shown the resulting worm. It was thicker and longer than I expected.

Did you keep it, op?

It could've well been inside you a long time before it made its way through your intestines( and died?) so not necessarily recent
I'm sure a pharmacist can advise

I know that roundworms are rare, but my daughter had one when she was 2 and we hadn’t been abroad! I was horrified! no idea at all where it came from, but it was a bit like what you have described 😩

Well that’s a relief! Roundworm in pets is common, maybe as your pets are wormed, it isn’t a worm. As a teenager, i had a holiday job as cycle messanger, riding 50miles a day in cold weather Couldn’t stop eating and was losing weight fast Was sure i had worms, took pripsen, but wasjust as hungry!

In retrospect it was all the exercise, but i blamed my boyfriend’s dog who licked plates in n his mums house.

Okay - I've plucked up courage to actually look at the photo I took. I've cropped it as opposed to crapped it so there's only a bit of it (maybe a bit less than half) on a clean toilet pan for those with a delicate disposition.

It does look a bit fibrous but I haven't put anything in my mouth that it could have come from!
