WTF just came out of my arse??!!

NOT A POO TROLL!!

Been for a poo, and basically a bit of poo was hanging on something that looked like dental floss. I pulled the rest out EnvyConfused and it was about 25-30cm in length! The consistency of stretchy, stringy dental floss.

Any suggestions? It didn't look segmented so I'm hoping it's not a tapeworm!

Looks like a vegetable stem

RestingPandaFace · 25/02/2022 14:30

Do you have long hair? That looks too fibrous to be a worm? 🤢

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 25/02/2022 14:30

@Classica

Look around and see if you can find a teeny weeny hat that may also have been ejected at the same time.

I've not had any celery ... surely whatever it's come from would have to be at least the length of whatever it is ... and it was the length of a ruler!

It could have been curled up inside whatever you ate so not necessarily something as long as it?
WutheringHeights66 · 25/02/2022 14:39

sorry should have read the full thread. It does look like celery to me too

Billlius · 25/02/2022 14:42

It’s tapeworm.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 25/02/2022 14:44

Found myself being a bit juvenile after I'd looked at a close up of that picture then had to click on "back to thread" Grin

EBearhug · 25/02/2022 14:46

No, trees come from swallowing apple seeds, not chewing gum.

(Also '70s child. I'm surprised we're here, all the things that were out to kill us.)

Zilla1 · 25/02/2022 14:51

HNRTT but how long do you think a tape worm is? Haven't seen any as thin as dental floss and I think tend to reproduce/come out as smaller segments unless you've taken a treatment to detach them in one piece.

Redpriestandmozart · 25/02/2022 14:51

looks like digested grass that my dogs pass

Zilla1 · 25/02/2022 14:54

And Google says longest human-cycle tapeworm was 82ft long.

That's all I could think of as I was yanking it out! Grass, hair, wool ... GrinShock

Pretty sure that's a worm. There's a Dr Jess Peatross on Instagram and she has some parasite detox programs - I've seen some that look remarkabky similar to this on there!

DrFoxtrot · 25/02/2022 14:59

It looks like vegetable matter to me. I once had a toddler brought to me with something hanging out of their bum that the parents didn't dare pull. I pulled it out and it was very similar to that, not as long though. I don't think it's a worm.

Thanks for the photo Grin

JinglingHellsBells · 25/02/2022 15:01

OP you need to see your GP and take along the item :)

JinglingHellsBells · 25/02/2022 15:02

The only way is to have it analysed.

See your Dr!

DrFoxtrot · 25/02/2022 15:05

I agree take it to the GP, I would love to see this. They'll be able to tell more what it is in real life.

Surely you mean ANAL ysed?
Ugzbugz · 25/02/2022 15:08

There was a thread the same as this not long ago but not sure what tilhe outcome was buy you might be able to find it

RaeRaeKinC · 25/02/2022 15:08

Definitely not threadworms - they’re tiny.
I honestly wouldn’t worry about it unless it happens again or if you have pain/blood in poo/change of BOWEL habits/tiredness/unexplained weight loss - all the usual warning signs for GP intervention.
If it’s a one off I’d just relax & think what my Nana used to say.
Better out than in 😮
(but I totally get you being baffled by it and wanting to know WTF it was? )

Redpriestandmozart · 25/02/2022 15:12

have you thought of putting it in a dish or jar of water and looking closer, if you can see a digestive track it is a worm, if it looks the same all down the length then it's probably vegetation of some sort
