Seriously how much?! Window cleaner

I am in shock but I’m not sure if I have just lost touch with reality. We live in a three bed terrace which is 60s build in zone 6 London. We have three windows at the front and three windows at the back plus sliding doors (one fixed panel and one door) - max 2m wide.

The window cleaner wants to charge £22.

Is that right?

£20 for 12 windows, patio door and back door in SE.

Topseyt · 31/01/2022 17:37

Sounds OK to me. What were you expecting it to be? A £5?

Sunsetsupernova · 31/01/2022 17:37

That’s not too bad. I pay £20 for a 1 bed ground floor flat with 2 doubles windows as one tiny kitchen one in zone 3.
I really need to get ours done actually but I begrudge the money for a 10 minute job!

user1471548941 · 31/01/2022 17:37

£20 for a 1 bed house with glass wall in SE

Frankley · 31/01/2022 17:38

I'm in the south east. I have been paying £22 for a few years now for similar. The window cleaner has not been for nearly a year and l think I'm going to have to find another one, I'm expecting it will be more expensive when l get a new quote.

HollowTalk · 31/01/2022 17:39

It's easier to buy a Karcher thingy with an extension rod!

strawberrrycheeesecake · 31/01/2022 17:40

I pay £5 a fortnight in manchester for a 3 bed semi with a conservatory ShockShockShock

Saz12 · 31/01/2022 17:40

We used to pay £20 for 8 windows, all ground floor. In central Scotland. They weren’t done very well at all, and just the glass, not the (uPVC) frames. I just do them myself now.

Redshoeblueshoe · 31/01/2022 17:41

3 bed semi, with patio doors, 3 windows on side of house. £10 Manchester

MyGirlDaisy · 31/01/2022 17:41

We pay £10 for three windows, he only does the front of our house, two upstairs so ladder work, it’s not the best clean tbh but saves me doing them. SE.

SpicyTinkle · 31/01/2022 17:41

Yikes! I'm in Scotland and pay £7 for a 5-bed.

Saz12 · 31/01/2022 17:41

£5 a fortnight?!?!! That’s extremely cheap!

strawberrrycheeesecake · 31/01/2022 17:42

@Saz12

£5 a fortnight?!?!! That’s extremely cheap!
I know! Im in shock at the prices. He comes once every two weeks so £10 a month.

Conservatory and front porch plus 7 windows.

RubyReigns · 31/01/2022 17:43

I pay £7 for a fortnightly clean. 3 bed semi with all frames wiped too.
I would have been shocked at that price!

QforCucumber · 31/01/2022 17:44

Wow! We are £8 every 4 weeks for our 4 bed detached in the NE, and that’s the standard price quoted by 3 or 4 cleaners!

Russell19 · 31/01/2022 17:44

I pay £8 and he comes once a month, 4 bed house in Cheshire

SophiesMummySaid · 31/01/2022 17:44

£15 14 windows plus 2 sides of a conservatory , once a month (NW)

DSGR · 31/01/2022 17:45

£35 here! South east, 4 bed semi

MrsPear · 31/01/2022 17:45

Right Scotland is cheap but otherwise sounds about right. H is very busy and I hate ladders hence the need for a professional. Oh and my eye sight means it would be a very crap job if I stood on the ground with an extension rod Grin
