Seriously how much?! Window cleaner

I am in shock but I’m not sure if I have just lost touch with reality. We live in a three bed terrace which is 60s build in zone 6 London. We have three windows at the front and three windows at the back plus sliding doors (one fixed panel and one door) - max 2m wide.

The window cleaner wants to charge £22.

Is that right?

@cafedesreves

OMG I just paid £110!!!!! Feeling like a total fool!
My window cleaner raised mine from £80 to £100. My new cleaner uses a brush thing on a pole so doesn't dry them as well but it's only £40. I'd started to seriously resent the cost.

Sorry should add, outside only

MadisonAvenue · 31/01/2022 20:18

I pay £14 every two months. We’re a three full storey semi with a bay window, 13 normal windows, French doors and two normal doors.

13 windows, 2 doors and a conservatory, midlands, £20.

MrsSkylerWhite · 31/01/2022 20:19

Sounds reasonable.

NW, 5 bed detached, large windows and one floor to ceiling, 6x5 m, £30.

clpsmum · 31/01/2022 20:19

I pay £5 for a three bedroom terrace not in London

SeasonFinale · 31/01/2022 20:20

@SamMil

£30 for a 4 bed house in Cambridgeshire! Shock
Phew - same here. Was beginning to think wtf!
Snowiscold · 31/01/2022 20:21

Out of curiosity, I’ve just gone onto a local window cleaner website, and prices for a four-bed are from £85. It’ll be more if access is tricky or house has more than two floors. That is for external windows only. French doors are another tenner. A conservatory is from £45.

ChickenStripper · 31/01/2022 20:22

20 for 9 windows and patio doors in SE not far from London.

BigGrandma · 31/01/2022 20:25

I pay £5 for a 3 bed semi in West Yorkshire.

Curlygirl06 · 31/01/2022 20:25

9 windows, 2 doors, (one glass top and bottom) and double French doors, £18 but it's going up to £20 next time. Mind you, he'll do the guttering and clean them out if I ask but obviously that's extra. South west.

mrsm43s · 31/01/2022 20:27

I had mine done today, I'm on a 3 month cycle. £26 outside only for a 5 bed house ( but it's a 3 bed semi with a loft conversion, so not huge) done with a pole, windows and sills. SE outside of London.

JaninaDuszejko · 31/01/2022 20:32

I pay £15 in the NE for a 4 bed large semi. 3 bay windows, 3 french doors, 10 other assorted windows.

Eggmcmuffin · 31/01/2022 20:34

9 quid 4 bed in Wales!

cherryonthecakes · 31/01/2022 20:37

I pay £17 for a 4 bed detached in Buckinghamshire.

tapdancingmum · 31/01/2022 20:42

14 windows with one being a bay window and two doors for £25.00. I think that's good as it means I don't have to do it.

Socialcarenope · 31/01/2022 20:50

@strawberrrycheeesecake

I pay £5 a fortnight in manchester for a 3 bed semi with a conservatory ShockShockShock
Jesus! Where in Manchester? Also Manchester and it's £10 just for my front.
MotherofPearl · 31/01/2022 20:53

£10 for a 3 bed semi (with extension which involves 3 veluxes and patio doors) in Manchester.

Ours recently put up their prices from £8 to £10 which caused quite a kerfuffle on my street, but reading some of these London prices makes me realise that £10 is a bargain!

SmellyWellyWoo · 31/01/2022 20:54

Can't believe these prices! £8.50 for a large 3 bed semi in the NW

tinkywinkyshandbag · 31/01/2022 20:57

What gets me is that they mostly don't climb ladders and clean with a squeegee any more, it's all these gravity fed poles and it takes them like 5 mins.

Jollyjuly · 31/01/2022 20:58

Gosh, so much money you're all paying. Front and back sone here in NE England - £10

Spectre8 · 31/01/2022 21:24

What thats cheap! Im in zone four and cheapest quote for same as you is £30!

Wigeon · 31/01/2022 21:37

The price difference between north and south is amazing!

£16 every other months Hertfordshire (inside the M25 though, so practically London). 3 bed detached, so he does front and back. Always offer a cuppa if I’m in (work from home) but he always declines!

FoggySpecs · 31/01/2022 21:55

19 windows in London, never had them cleaned in 12 years. I saw the local window cleaner was in the clink recently.

DerAlteMann · 31/01/2022 22:13

Five-bed Victorian semi (not London) is £22.
