Sorry if there's another thread, couldn't see one.

ITV have a video scoop of Allegra Stratton laughing and joking about the party that never happened, but definitely did follow Covid rules despite not happening, filmed a few days after the party date.

How many more times does the PM and half the cabinet need to tell barefaced lies before we can get rid of this bunch of absolute arseholes?

Possibly. But given what happened to him, wouldn’t he have benefited from doing this much sooner? What’s he got to gain from doing it now?

Proximity to Christmas will give it more impact I guess.

Plus I imagine he’s got a huge amount of damaging stuff he can pull out whenever he’s just feeling bored and fancies opening a can of worms and watching the reaction.

We exchanged parents in Mc D carpark with my sis who had cancer at the time but she said we still need to stick by the rules as we have to think about everyone else. She passed away age 38 years and that was our last Xmas together.

I'm in America at the moment and the top 3 headlines on the news this evening were this stupid Christmas party and the UK goat's incompetent and uncaring withdrawal from Afghanistan (along with Biden's call with Putin). I absolutely despise this immoral government and feel ashamed to be British with this lot in power.

It's the drip-drip effect. It's no use letting all the scandals out at once - the govt can survive one big avalanche of muck far easier than it can when it comes out in stages. Ergo, there's more to come yet.

I don’t understand the police saying they will now look into it.
Surely they could just ask the officers who were presumably letting people in/out of Downing Street? What other parties that breached covid laws had police officers stationed at the door? Must be the easiest investigation ever.

What a coincidence, no Ministers turning up this morning doing their normal news rounds. Unless that changes later. They can't defend it, that's why.

I just hope this doesn't go away like all the other lies and subterfuge. I think this is just so hurtful for people and it's hit home. Let's just hope that translates in the by election coming up in Shropshire.

Disgusting. Just absolutely disgusting. I didn't see my 87yo Nana for 18 months to keep her safe. We have been isolated to death, left in fear by a rising death toll. We didn't see any family over Christmas at all (and it looks like that may happen again this year!).

And they are laughing about breaking every rule that THEY THEMSELVES made.

They all want sacking.

I agree.

If all released at once the individual stories get forgotten about under the weight of all the others. I think it's really cunning to wait and drip feed. Especially as boris and the others will know full well there are other stories so are just waiting, wondering when the next one will leak.

This is absolutely the ideal time to leak this story -will certainly mean imposing fresh restrictions this year will be under much more scrutiny than last year.

I'm not sure that's really fair, she didn't arrange the party and it was indefensible so she was laughing at how awkward it would be if she was asked about it.
