Aside from how terrible this all is, the directory in the link shared by Rousette is eye opening at how wasteful they were - toothpaste must be half full, throw open packets away after each stay no matter how much has been used. All lights on every evening. Also the instructions on how to address them.

I don’t think it is insignificant. It gives an insight into their life, their expectations. What they want, they get, people are at their service - in exchange for $$$.

Being wasteful is part of that. They are used to excess. They take what they want and discard what they don’t want anymore.

On a side note I had never heard of the name Ghislaine before.
I hadn't realised the s was silent.
I thought it was pronounced Gislane.

I hate the angle that says the girls were complicit and got 'benefits' such as travel. They were vulnerable children, completely exploited. If it is obvious to a casual observer, me, that Maxwell was committing serious crimes, I hope this is made clear in her trial.

I read the guardian piece then came here. I think she must have known what JE was up. Like a "cool girlfriend" on steroids. I suspect she was prostituting herself in a way, desperate for the rich lifestyle she'd become accustomed to and immune to shame because of her family background.

I'm not sorry for her but it rankles that she is on trial when Andrew who definitely shagged VRG isn't. And the rich powerful men involved in this aren't answering to anyone.

I feel like she is taking heat for the sins of her father and ex boyfriend. If she deserves to be on trial them so do more of the staff and more of the party guests.

Does anyone know who jane is?

Jessica Reed Kraus posted on her Instagram story that she had been contacted by a follower and told who Jane is and that after doing a bit more research everything she read online backed up what she had been told. I think she said it's not someone massively famous but that they would be known by many people.

Thanks to whoever recommend following Jessica Reed Kraus, I didn't know that much about Ghislaine's upbringing but the little bit of backstory she posted yesterday does sort of explain how she could end up getting so involved with JE (not excusing it at all).

The whole case stinks so much.

Just started to watch documentary on Netflix about JE.

Why Maria Farmer’s testimony was not followed up?
She claims herself she received threatening phonecalls from GM years after she got away from them.
The fact that out of court settlement was reached between federal court and JE was a big “fuck you” to all the victims.
Once again the sick wants of a man of power took precedence over hundreds of victims.

GM is guilty like fuck as she took part in grooming the girls to keep her monster happy.
Abusive childhood is not an excuse. Plenty of people come from fucked up background and still manage to turn into decent people.

What they both did was sick. Sick,sick,sick.

As I said above, she was the friendly face of sex trafficking. Would these girls have gone off to these properties with a man? Nope. She gave the cover. She roamed Malls handing out business cards, same at camp, school, trailer park... she gave endless promises of modelling contracts, training courses, acting lessons etc.

One girl helped out at a nursery. She was just 14. GM approached her with offers of a modelling contract with Victoria's Secrets. The girl told her she was more into singing and dancing.
Just revolting. Maxwell was a predator.

Too many big names are involved that’s why they still don’t want them to come up as it will be scandal. Many “pillars of society” holier than thou were involved I expect so it must stay this way 🙁😡

I dont think I'd class her as a predator exactly - she was a procuress. She paid for her high rolling lifestyle (the one that was threatened when daddy died) facilitating Einstein's lifestyle and, in particular, pandering to his (and his friends) taste for vulnerable girls and young women to use, abuse and discard.

Yes, apparently she used to take them clothes shopping, out for lunch, swimming, etc. Like a friendly Aunt. But then she would be asking them if they had a boyfriend, and once she'd gain their trust, she'd get the subject onto sex. They probably felt safe with her.
Which makes it all the more abhorrent
