Fucking dogs!

I am so fucking done with dogs

I am sick of being jumped all over by dogs when I'm out running. I always slow to a walk when a dog approaches, I stand still if they seem aggressive. I have lost count of how many dogs that have jumped up on me and have made me muddy, left scratches from their nails on my arms and thighs
or ripped/pulled my clothing. I'm actually very lucky never to have been bitten.
.
I am so fucking fed up of avoiding piles of dog shit - on some of the routes I run or walk I can count up to a dozen piles just left on the path.

I am so fucking fed up of my neighbour's dogs barking. I can't complain as they are the kind of people who will make my life hell but on the regular occasions they are out they bark CONSTANTLY. Sometimes all night long.

I am fed up of having to pass a neighbour's house where they let their dog shit in the front garden and don't clear out for days and days. I walk past daily and it stinks to high heaven.

I am fucking fed up of dogs in cafes, pubs and restaurants. I, like many people are allergic and it leaves me sneezing for hours and hours. One pub we were in you literally had to clamber over 6 dogs to get to the bar.

Now today on here there are loads of people saying they think it's ok to put their dog shit in someone else's bin.

This is even without the terrible dog attacks that happen.

I know this will rile entitled dog owners but seriously has anyone else just fucking had enough?

(Ps my current username came from a thread where a poster's dinner of cottage pie had been given to the dog where everyone piled on to say dogs can't eat onions. I don't have a dog 🤣)

I purposely moved to a gated community where dogs are totally banned in the flats and the grounds. Some massive twat still bought a stupid sausage dog that barks all the time and annoys everyone.

Feelingofftoday · 17/11/2021 20:57

@Nyxly
From what I could see just an ordinary dog in a check dog coat.

People take dogs in JL?

Apparently JL allow any dog in their stores, as long as they’re on a lead or held. JL do some quite questionable things though, I mean, look at that advert. 😬

BudrosBudrosGalli · 17/11/2021 20:57

@DarlingFell

Oh look, the weekly dog haters thread has appeared.

YABU

Dogs absolutely rock. Mine are utterly awesome.

Hahahaha Love it! And I bet yours really are amazing!
RubyTuesday70 · 17/11/2021 20:57

I adore my two dogs. And never get the hate that dogs get - in fact I feel quite sad for anyone that doesn't have that unconditional love.

However, since lockdown, every bloody house in this village seems to have acquired a dog. The dog mess is horrific, in every field and covering every footpath. Even worse are the "bag it and hang it in a hedge" culprits. They've not trained their dogs so they bound up to mine that on are on leads for a bloody reason - ie one is really nervy. And my coat is covered in paw prints that aren't from my dogs because they jump all over me.

Notdoingthis · 17/11/2021 20:58

There is a pub near us that keeps organising events and selling itself as gastropub. The problem is there are always dogs there and the garden is covered in dogshit. And last time we went a dog took food off our plate. I don't go anymore but every time I see someone recommending them or their events I want to mention the dogshit.
Also an aggressive dog opposite our house who jumps up barking every time we pass.
And all the poo bags full of shit scattered around the paths nearby.
Then every time my kids look a bit apprehensive when they see a dog, the owners seem to scoff, like my kids are the problem.
Some of us just don't really like dogs and their noise and mess.

  • Shudder *[/quote] Oh dear!

I have dogs. I adore them. I also adore shopping without them.

So confused why shops allow them in tbh.

alborana · 17/11/2021 20:59

It's interesting reading the complaints about dog shit. I live in London and almost never see it. People pick it up.

Kikkomam · 17/11/2021 20:59

I love dogs. Are you writing an article OP?

Fomofo · 17/11/2021 21:00

Budros, I'm sure the feeling's mutual

Tal45 · 17/11/2021 21:01

You're misdirecting your anger. Dogs can't pick up their own poo and have no idea that you don't want to be jumped all over by them. It's bad dog owners you should be pissed off at not the dogs themselves.

I wish they would 'round here! Last few years it's got way out of hand.
XenoBitch · 17/11/2021 21:02

YABU
The problem is people, not dogs.

Exactly! I see people like OP and a few others as the kind of people I am glad not to know in real life.

Me too. My dogs aren’t allowed to do any of the stuff listed in the OP. My dogs are never off lead except on our secure land, I pick up their poo, they don’t get the opportunity to jump or anyone, I bring them in if they bark despite not having any neighbours living close by. I don’t personally take my dogs in pubs etc but take that up with the pub or find another pub.

Haters still gonna hate. 🤷🏻‍♀️

icedcoffees · 17/11/2021 21:02

@Nyxly - JL, like many shops, allow dogs in as long as they're well behaved and on leads/being carried.

I'm glad the dog haters of MN don't live here - most of the shops have a shop dog and provide water, free dog biscuits and huge amounts of fuss Wink

Kikkomam · 17/11/2021 21:03

Splitting hairs? No, dogs really can't pick up their own shit.

danadas · 17/11/2021 21:03

I love dogs and ours is cool but completely agree with you.

I think there has been a big fashion in recent years of switching from them being animals with specific species appropriate needs to an extension/replacement of children which has led to many living in unsuitable environments without appropriate enrichment and importantly no/minimal training.

However the vast majority of dog owners are responsible, its just that the ones that aren't are so much more noticeable!

Wineandroses3 · 17/11/2021 21:03

I’m with ya! 💯 sick of ppl treating a dog like it’s a baby 🤮

QuiteQuaint · 17/11/2021 21:04

As usual, it’s humans that are the problem, not animals.

Dogscanteatonions · 17/11/2021 21:04

@userxx

I love dogs and would happily let someone put a bag of dogshit in my bin, better then leaving it on the pavement.
Plenty of people do not feel the same

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/11/2021 21:04

I was running a lot early part of the year with lockdown getting to me. Bloody dogs. They chase, jump and tried to knock me over. Owners oblivious to the carnage.

I started muttering profanities. But with earphones in, I probably wasn’t muttering!

I love dogs, if they are well trained and not being a bother. Dogs loose off leads are a pain.

hotmeatymilk · 17/11/2021 21:04

I’m with you, OP – would happily live in a dog-free world, ban them all, it would be a happier, less disgusting place. But you’ll get 800 pages of frothing from the hound huns about how their special pooch is special and different, and they never do any of the things on your list, except only sometimes.

mumto2teenagers · 17/11/2021 21:04

YANBU about dogs jumping up (should be on a lead unless they have excellent recall).

YANBU about the dog shit (no excuse to not pick up after your dog.

However, I think YABU about dogs in pubs and restaurants. It is up to those businesses whether they will allow dogs. As long as the dogs are well behaved and under control then I don't see the issue.
