@ShirleyPhallus

I like that he’s written “Nike airmax (trainers) (from Nike)” just in case you’re so old that you have no idea what Nike is
I laughed at this too! And the 340cm....very sweet
bagsofbats · 11/11/2021 13:26

"It's a wish list not a shopping list" is a good line when it comes to this sort of thing.

ReginaaPhalange · 11/11/2021 13:26

Love it!! You have to get the teddy and create a thread with live updates during the wrapping haha!!

For the diamond necklace.... you could get this! It does have a real diamond, albeit teeny tiny! But you're meeting the requirements of a real diamond.... DC didn't state carat Wink

This thread is adorable. I wish I had the power to buy MNers everything on their Christmas lists.

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 11/11/2021 13:27

MNers children.

Not MNers. I'm not that generous.

Ekofisk · 11/11/2021 13:28

Youngest DS wanted a set of traffic lights for Christmas when he was 6. And an iron monger catalogue so that he could decide which padlocks were best.
@PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets it’s a good job I’m not the organised type.
She has changed her mind on the “main presents” section and has decided she wants an iPhone 12 MINI in purple.

Same way she wanted to be an “ice cream van lady” one week and a marine biologist the next....
I love her. 😍 and her taste in purple iphones

Don't disappoint her with a goldfish and a Mr Frosty. 😂

Make that 3x 0.5 teeny tiny diamonds! I think you're onto a winner there!!
Cordyceps · 11/11/2021 13:29

Oh god my partner (a middle-aged software developer) is also obsessed with specific mechanical keyboards and the specific little switches that go under each key and he will literally watch an hour of youtube videos on this shit. While I'm over here shaking biscuit crumbs out of this black plastic keyboard I got for a tenner from Asda when the "W" stopped working on my last one.

Anyway your kid sounds great

AnotherFunnyQuote · 11/11/2021 13:32

This has made my day. I love reading Xmas lists

DumplingsAndStew · 11/11/2021 13:32

@idontlikealdi

Brilliant. My 10 year olds is

iPhone 13
Horse
iPad Pro
Horse
Horse
Air Force 1s
Horse
Horse stuff
Pjs
£20 Claire's voucher
Horse
Perfect pet

Fake oodie from primark
Pens and pencils
Pho kit
Cook book

GrinGrin

I just thought I'd mention a PC game called Star Stable which is a safe, online interactive game where you train and look after horses. My 13 yo DD has been playing it for years and has recently gotten me quite into it 😂

There's some free features, but also monthly subscription options, or just now there's a 'lifetime' subscription offer for around £37. It's usually around £50-60, so DD has only ever had the monthly or 3-monthly options. I'm going to treat her to the lifetime sub as she really gets a lot from it.

Tal45 · 11/11/2021 13:33

This child has to be rapper when he grows up - diamond chain, designer hoodie and Nike's he halfway there already.

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 11/11/2021 13:34

I’m pretty sure @catinboots123 isn’t freaking out thinking she actually has to buy everything on that list...

But I do agree, start young with the concept of wish lists. There’s no magic at all in a materialistic ‘shopping list’ mentality about it.

Part of the enjoyment of Christmas/Santa is the room for fantasising that you might actually, possibly, if the stars align and you’ve been ever so good, get that very much wanted absolute dream thing. Whilst actually knowing that it’s most probably not going to happen. You really do steal something important away from children if they automatically just get every single thing their list. Always leave room for a few surprises too, because often children think they know what they really want, but Santa might know better (usually the simpler the item, the better!).

lisaandalan · 11/11/2021 13:37

Just get what you can afford off of the really want list. X

lillylemons · 11/11/2021 13:38

@heyyellowyellow

I love this! My son will be 14 by the time Christmas is here but he would be so disappointed if there wasn’t a teddy of some sorts waiting for him on Christmas morning!
dd 14 is the same Christmas is not Christmas without a new teddy. it's the top item on her list so I don't forget.
muldersspeedos · 11/11/2021 13:40

OP that is the cutest list. You'll have to save it in a memory box for him to look back on when he's older.

Ds only writes his list once I've bought everything he's mentioned/that I know he'd really like. So far there's only two things on it thank goodness and can be from his sisters. I was hoping to say Father Christmas doesn't bring weapons (he wants a nerf gun) but then I remembered the bow and arrow set FC got him when he was 3 or 4 🤦‍♀️

Dd would love a horse but knows it's not going to happen. Disney dad will get her the laptop she's asked for I think. It's totally out of my budget but she knows and understands that. I am time rich but money poor and he's the opposite.

ElephantOfRisk · 11/11/2021 13:40

I used to buy my DC things I thought they'd like when I spotted a good deal/bargain and then manage to get them to put them on their lists. Works until they are nearly teenagers :)

lisaandalan · 11/11/2021 13:41

Also maybe the oversized dressing gown. X

ElephantOfRisk · 11/11/2021 13:42

My DSs are adults now but I got them one of those ugly teddy things they had on sale at the Entertainer.

BogRollBOGOF · 11/11/2021 13:44

I'm glad DS isn't specifying a 340cm teddy... his room is pretty much a 2m cube! He would know if it's wrong too. Grin

DS2 is desperate for a treadmill. We've suggested running around the block Grin

Awww I want to get my baby one of those short armed teddy bears from Jellycat

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 11/11/2021 13:47

DS's list this year is a Lego set, pirate dress up stuff and "Aztec gold"

He did whisper afterwards that he doesn't mind if the Aztec gold is made of cardboard though 😂

Ohmybod · 11/11/2021 13:54

@Whattheschitt

I love how real is circled 😂 just to make sure you know.
Lol, OP must have form for producing cheap knock offs
stingofthebutterfly · 11/11/2021 14:04

At least you can work with that. My 11 year old's list consists solely of socks, pants (yes, she has both of these things...), and a (real) dog. I 100% guarantee the last one isn't happening but I would love something else to go on!

DriftingBlue · 11/11/2021 14:06

I like it.

It’s a wish list, not an order list. It’s ok for a kid to go a little crazy and your kid clearly knows that some wishes are just too extravagant.
