I don't know if I'm in awe or outraged Grin

I'm honestly quite surprised yous lot seem to be suggesting your teenagers DONT have decent smartphones because I don't know any that don't.

Not sure what you class as decent, but both my teenagers have sub £100 Moto phones.

@Inexpertjuggler

Love this! I like how it covers all bases ( just in case there’s a slight chance) I remember DD2 presenting us with her list ‘ there’s only 5 things on there’ she said smiling. THEN we found out each of her dolls and each build a bear had also written a list ( clothes/ accessories/ sports car/ horse & carriage, etc etc etc)
Absolute genius move there.
PoshWatchShitShoes · 12/11/2021 20:18

That's such a sweet list. One to keep forever

Offmyfence · 12/11/2021 20:19

@Granjeanne

He/she really needs a dictionary!
You also need more powers of observation, OP has confirmed it's a DS.

How utterly shoddy of you, to not have ascertained this information.

maddiemookins16mum · 12/11/2021 20:19

Please keep that list for future reference/embarrassment purposes.

Whitefire · 12/11/2021 20:25

My oldest is almost 16, I think the year she was almost 6 she wrote on individual post it notes present ideas, so "I would like...."
A pencil case.
A book to myself.
A cracker I can pull.
A small present with something in it.

Amongst some. The rest were on a similar vein on the whole, we got her everything she asked for that year.

I've kept some of their letters.

DS (2 years younger) did try to get DD to add things to her list that he wanted. Grin

catinboots123 · 12/11/2021 20:50

@AtiaoftheJulii

Now my 23 yr old is giving me hers!

I read my 23 year old this list, and she told me she would like Play Doh for Christmas. "A set, with the rollers and cutters and accoutrements."

I now want to come round on Chribo day and do play-doh with your DD. She sounds brilliant Smile

The joys of marketing to kids 😢

catinboots123 · 12/11/2021 20:53

@WTAFhappened123

I’d red pen the spelling mistakes and advise that the request has been rejected
Nah I used to be a teacher - shouldn't it be green?

Holy crap!! Good luck OP!!!

Tiredalwaystired · 12/11/2021 20:56

I wish mine were this specific about what they wanted!

The only specific on the 13 year olds list is a “rock tumbler”

The 11 year old just wrote “stuff”

HELP ME!

Jacopone · 12/11/2021 21:11

Really, some sweet stories here. Lovely times when dc are small.
I remember we had a recurring item over the years:
A dog
A moving dog
A real walking dog
A real moving walking dog (NOT A TOY!)
A dog like neighbours have

He/she really needs a dictionary!
And you really need to get a fucking life 🤷🏻‍♀️
notoldjustpastyoung · 12/11/2021 21:38

I always understood that lists to things to be chosen from. Not to buy all of them. Yes?

Yes.
notoldjustpastyoung · 12/11/2021 21:39

These two are the best. ~They're not demanding or grasping. ~Theytrust you enough to know what they would like. Love them.

Kateygirl2 · 12/11/2021 22:00

Wow ! 😲😲😲😲

Hugoslavia · 12/11/2021 22:26

My daughter has asked for "a banana with a cake on top and ice-cream on top of that and another banana on top of that!". My son has asked for "a packet of biscuits". You'd think that I never feed them!

Hugoslavia · 12/11/2021 22:28

My friend's four year old has asked for a 'super super super super soft fluffy kitten, a length of rope and a trusty hook!" God knows what he has planned.

Hugoslavia · 12/11/2021 22:43

@NotMyCat

That is just the loveliest story and bought a smile to my face!

hotmeatymilk · 12/11/2021 22:46

@Hugoslavia GrinGrinGrin

Apparently I always used to begin my lists with a little instruction to “Please choose some of the below, this is for ideas!” out of some kind of fear that I want never gets.

Hugoslavia · 12/11/2021 23:16

@hotmeatymilk

My grandfather used to say, "those who ask don't get! And those who don't ask, don't want". We were screwed either way.

GrabTheDayByTheBalls · 12/11/2021 23:23

The last 2 years my pre schooler asked for chocolate biscuits. And was genuinely more excited about them than the proper gifts.

This year. A frog and a rat! ' an actual real frog that actually really jumps and ribbits' and a rat to go in a ball and not a cage.

maybe u need to ask for a toy as santa can't put animals etc in his sleigh they're too scared haha
