I'm home alone today and except for whatsapping my friends have nothing to do with this incandescent rage and hopeless sadness.

Anyone else need to talk? Sad

Yes. Following twitter and hoping it is a whole of life sentence. I cannot even begin to understand what Sarah's family and friends are feeling in these moments.

@SuperStarRose

DD is annoyed with me because I wondered if more witnesses would have come forward sooner and therefore bus CCTV checked sooner etc if the headlines hadn't been dominated by the Oprah 'Meghan and Harry' interview. She thinks I'm being ridiculous.
You are being ridiculous. Using this to have a go at Meghan and Harry is appalling tbh.

He was caught very quickly, but nothing could have saved her. He had already killed her by the time she was reported missing.

ThatCampWitch · 30/09/2021 11:59

It has got to be a full life sentence. It’s a travesty if not. Sadly I won’t be surprised if it isn’t though.

The Nudge is handing him his arse. But the proof will be in the sentencing

If you go to the mylondon website, there’s a live blog direct from the courtroom, relating the judge’s remarks

The judge said: "I would stress therefore that I have adopted the approach that a judge should only pass a whole-life term if he is confronted with a new category of exceptionally seriousness of a case."

He added: "Police are in a unique position that is essentially different to any other public servant. They have powers of coercion and control that are in an exceptional category."

@Nosafeguardingadults

Maybe will happen. He gets whole life.

If happens, is very big message on domestic violence. Is saying is not big problem to murder women as long as you in relationship with them.

Rather than arguing that Sarah's death should get less news coverage and is less important than what people are saying, you could instead be arguing that other women deserve to have as much news coverage. Sarah deserves the news coverage and outrage she is getting, like other women deserve it too... your logic is seriously flawed if you think this man should get off lightly because other men got off lightly?

It's been interesting reading the judges comments. Yes arse on a plate

It may be saying more about Couzens abusing his position as a police officer than about domestic violence. If you commit an offence against a police officer the sentence is far harsher than it would otherwise be, so the opposite has to hold true.

ThatCampWitch · 30/09/2021 12:07

Right sentence

There is much to be said about inequalities in sentencing nosafeguardingadults, but this very much is not the thread to say it.

ThatCampWitch · 30/09/2021 12:07

Whole life order

legosunqueen · 30/09/2021 12:08
