MeatLoaf

No.

Maybe David Bowie at a push.

@WildRosie

When he was actually singing, rather than speaking his songs, Neil Diamond was one of the better live vocalists. I confess Mick Hucknall was good in his prime; I don't know about now.
Ah, Neil Diamond! Dad was a massive fan, (see also Meatloaf), and that was the first concert I ever went to, aged about 14. (A long time ago now!) Seen him a few times since, bloody brilliant.
MiddleEasternMummy · 18/09/2021 01:08

Rod Stewart ❤️

Thanks for all the recommendations.

Pink is amazing

Tom Jones has still got it!

But for new talent don’t miss Josh Kiszka from Greta Van Fleet. The talent is incredible. This live performance of Heat Above on the Jimmy Kimmel show is stunning. Love this band and the lad is only about 22!

SaskiaRembrandt · 18/09/2021 01:17

Chris Cornell.

FlowerArranger · 18/09/2021 01:23

Often imitated - never equaled...

SheldonesqueTheLazyEyedBstard · 18/09/2021 01:26

Thom Yorke.

DarkDarkNight · 18/09/2021 01:32

I agree with Pulp, Jarvis Cocker was amazing live.

My dad always said Roy Orbison. He saw him live and said he sounded just like he did on record.

SheldonesqueTheLazyEyedBstard · 18/09/2021 01:41

Roy Orbison I have not personally seen live but for me, this is a thing of absolute beauty.

Mr Orbison

Justabouthangingthere · 18/09/2021 01:56

Marvin Gaye
Bobby Womack
Teddy Pendergrass
And not for singing but producing Frankie Knuckles

MajorNeville · 18/09/2021 02:13

I saw Roy Orbison live, I can confirm he was excellent. It was a real treat to see him, sadly just before he died.

PinniGig · 18/09/2021 02:19

Lot of musicians I've seen live and been absolutely blown away by over the years. Too many to narrow down.

In this last week I've rediscovered 90's Paula Cole who was superb live. Her career began after she was backing vocalist for Peter Gabriel who is incredible live too.

CatsBooksAndCoffee · 18/09/2021 02:24

Al Jarreau
George Benson
Basia
Shakatak
The Proclaimers
Dexys
The Saints ( Chris Bailey)

All knocked my socks off.

CatsBooksAndCoffee · 18/09/2021 02:29

Forgot to add ( I was 11 when I saw each of these legends)

The Clancy Brothers And Tommy Makem
Men At Work
I'd love to catch Colin Hay on tour too.

Seafog · 18/09/2021 02:32

Celine Dion

CatsBooksAndCoffee · 18/09/2021 02:33

Argh! I knew I was forgetting someone very important!
Tindersticks
Les Negresses Vertes
Shane McGowan

Shallwegoforawalk · 18/09/2021 02:34

Sharlene Spiteri (Texas) - incredible voice, control and range

Peter Gabriel - mesmerising, haunting, emotional

George Michael - pitch perfect as a Pp said and a lot more power than I'd expected from his pop Wham days. Such a talent that was often underrated I think. Seeing him live totally changed me into a fan.

But the best was Pink without a doubt, shes amazing. It's only when you're singing along you realise how bloody hard some of her songs are to sing well!

trappistkepler · 18/09/2021 02:46

well Freddie Mercury of course...

Bono carries a stage

And I have heard the rumours about Pink, would love to see her.

Anordinarymum · 18/09/2021 02:46

@Mandalordeloris

Honestly, the one I have been most impressed and surprised with was Miley Cyrus.
I think she is phenomenal
crowsfeet57 · 18/09/2021 02:47

Freddie Mercury
Bruce Springsteen
Bryan Adams
Andrea Corr

But the MOST talented singer I have ever seen is Adam Lambert

Longdistance · 18/09/2021 03:47

I’m jealous of those that have heard George Michael sing live. I had the opportunity when I lived in Perth WA in about 2012, but he cancelled and they offered me Elton John instead 😫

SimplySteveRedux · 18/09/2021 05:15

Amy Lee

Sharon den Adel

ablutiions · 18/09/2021 06:13

Ray Charles. Oh my god. Amazing.

SapphireSeptember · 18/09/2021 06:23

@SimplySteveRedux

Hell yes!

I'll add Cristina Scabbia/Andrea Ferro, I saw Lacuna Coil in 2019 and they blew me away!

DressBitch · 18/09/2021 06:27

Meatloaf back then was amazing.

But, Meatloaf now struggles to carry the notes a bit. Or he did when I saw him in about 2014.
