Meatloaf was the first ever concert I went to aged 12!! Nothing has ever come close!

GlumyGloomer · 17/10/2021 00:54

More votes for Matt Bellamy and Debbie Harry

Nat6999 · 17/10/2021 01:27

Paul Weller, PP Arnold.

puffylovett · 17/10/2021 01:46

U2 were incredible. I would’ve loved to have seen Fleetwood Mac live.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 17/10/2021 02:08

@CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay

Prince was jaw droppingly good live.

George Michael also incredible. Wish I'd seen him more than once.

All time favourite is Paul Heaton. Incredible range, when he does Let Love Speak Up Itself it's breathtaking- or any of the old Housemartins standards. Jacqui Abbott I her own right has the voice of an angel.

I’m seeing them later this month, I’ve been looking forward to it for 18 months.

I got last minute tickets to a Brid Spa gig of theirs a few years ago. I was having a shitty time of it, and that gig was like therapy. Stunning voices.

Areyouboredyet · 17/10/2021 02:22

UB40 at Stirling Castle were amazing, Usher at the SECC was gorgeous and Ed Sheeran at Hampden Stadium with just his guitar, no backup dancers or band also amazing.

Runforthehillocks · 17/10/2021 02:30

I went with an old boyfriend back in the early 90s I think it was, to see Shania twain who was surprisingly good.

SageRosemary · 17/10/2021 10:35

Barbra Streisand, the purest voice in pop
Imelda May
Nile Rogers (Chic)
Leo Sayer - I've seen him twice in the last 6 years - such a fun stage presence too
Paul Simon and
Art Garfunkel, separately
Neil Diamond was great but did too much talking between songs and not enough singing
Hall & Oates (Daryl Hall)
Tommy Fleming (for the craicnetters)

We've got tickets for Elton John and Ed Sheeran next year, hope they'll be as good - first arena tickets for our teenagers

Chumleymouse · 17/10/2021 10:42

Dave Grohl.... foo fighters..... now that’s a show.

SageRosemary · 17/10/2021 10:48

@puffylovett

U2 were incredible. I would’ve loved to have seen Fleetwood Mac live.
Fleetwood Mac were still touring in 2019 so it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that there may be another tour for the pension pot
paisley256 · 17/10/2021 12:11

Prince

Barbra Streisand

CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay · 17/10/2021 13:15

@IncyWincyGrownUp enjoy! I went last night to see them in Liverpool and it was honestly so joyful, I'm still on a high now

Eggshausted · 17/10/2021 13:19

Freddie Mercury, George Michael and Frank Sinatra.

I have been a big gig goer in my time, slowing down a bit now, it has to be someone I REALLY want to see now it's got so expensive and getting into and out of stadium gigs is such a ball ache.

I saw Fleetwood Mac on that 2019 tour, it was a fantastic gig, hearing Stevie Nicks sing Landslide live was a life goal ticked off. I could have done without Mick Fleetwood's loooong drum solo (and by the amount of people taking the opportunity to go to the loo during it I think a lot of the audience felt the same) My only two criticisms were it felt over rehearsed, I'm sure they said exactly the same things, at the same time, every night of the tour, and of course I didn't get to see Lindsey Buckingham but Neil Finn (ex of Crowded House) was excellent.

I've seen Queen twice, at Live Aid and then at a stand alone gig because they were so amazing at Live Aid. I have to say not being a huge fan the Live Aid set left me wanting more but a whole gig was a bit much, although I appreciate Freddie Mercury was an amazing showman.

Huge Bowie fan so really enjoyed the two concerts of his (in the 80s) I went to, although being huge stadium concerts he was a bit of a dot on the stage. Sadly I didn't go to the c2020 tour thinking there'd be others, and of course there weren't 😭

Was incredibly lucky to get a ticket for the first night of Kate Bush's run in Hammersmith and honestly that concert was incredible, I was half expecting her not to show and the atmosphere was electric. Some dodgy skits and arty shit which I think was her son's input (but hey he was the one who got her back on stage so I'll forgive him) but the singing and stage show was phenomenal.

Damien Rice on a good night at an intimate venue is amazing.

DesdamonasHandkerchief · 20/10/2021 10:58

*c2000 Bowie gig. Even he can't tour when dead Blush

PugInTheHouse · 20/10/2021 12:03

Muse are incredible live, Matt Bellamy is such a huge talent.

We are seeing Adam Lambert next year and I know he'll be amazing.

Saw Ed Sheeran and he is brilliant just him with the loop pedal, obviously not the greatest singer in the world but a very good performer. There are lots of good bands who are brilliant as live performers but not necessarily the best singers.

Lynne1Cat · 20/10/2021 12:06

The singers I found to be excellent:

Tom Jones (yes, he's old and craggy but his voice is great)
Paloma Faith - the range of notes she can hit!
Paul Rogers - still got a fantastic, gravelly, raunchy sound.
