Dream Team - Sky 1 series about a fictional football club. A million times better than Footballers Wives (and was the "original")

deleteasappropriate · 11/09/2021 18:53

The life and loves of a She devil! Mary Fisher really got what was coming to her Grin

CaptainCallisto · 11/09/2021 18:53

There was a BBC (I think) costume drama called Berkeley Square that I loved in the 90's, and one called A Respectable Trade. I'd love to see both of them again!

@munchbunch12

I used to love The Mary Whitehouse Experience when I was young, but am not sure if it'd age very well!
The radio version gets repeated every so often on BBC 4 Extra. I can safely report it hasn't aged well - the homophobic jokes made me very uncomfortable. I do still use "that's you, that is" as a regular insult though!
SaintVal · 11/09/2021 18:57

Knots Landing!

Binglebong · 11/09/2021 19:01

Heartbreak High is on Netflix.

Would love to see The Last Train again. And there was a Christopher Eccelston series called something like Second Coming that I really wanted to see but missed. Haven't been able to track it down

I watched that on YouTube recently - brilliant Remember ‘Bobbo’ ? Yes they were fighting over Dennis Waterman 😂
munchbunch12 · 11/09/2021 19:05

@PiddleOfPuppies yes that's what I was afraid of, but when I was about 13 I found it hilarious!

LibertyLue · 11/09/2021 19:07

I loved Jakes Progress back in the day, me and my best friend used to shout “play with me daddy” at random times to each other. Julie Walters was ace in it.

Binglebong · 11/09/2021 19:08

There's a website justwatch.com which can be quite useful for finding random old shows. Not everything on there but it's not bad.

Ultraopaque, rentaghost was the 1st thing that came into my head too!

Whichcatthatcat · 11/09/2021 19:15

And Flash Fowrqed, but I'd like to see the ending that was not shown cos the series was cancelled

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/09/2021 19:16

The Angelique movies (Indomitable Angelique, Angelique et Le Roi, etc). I would need to watch them in summer, in France, in French, or it wouldn't be the same.

Kerzel · 11/09/2021 19:16

🙌 to Dream Team!

I loved Moll Flanders and Band of Gold when I was a teenager. Would love to watch them again.

RomanMum · 11/09/2021 19:18

No Angels and Teachers. Both C4 I think.

Chickydoo · 11/09/2021 19:18

The original survivors

WestendVBroadway · 11/09/2021 19:19

I am soooo pleased someone mentioned Mother Love. I was desperately trying to remember the name of that series a few weeks ago.

Snowy River - The McGregor saga.
Australian series in the 1990’s, had a young Guy Pearce in it.

I can’t find it online and can’t find a dvd set that would work in the UK, not that we have a Dvd player any more 🙄
Quite a few shows that were cancelled after one or two seasons as well - Almost Human with Karl Urban . Dracula with Johnathon Rhys Myers. Agent Carter with Hayley Atwell.

GenderApostatemk2 · 11/09/2021 19:25

Oh and Timeless, my absolute favourite Scifi show of the last 15 years.

Eyesofdisarray · 11/09/2021 19:27

Oh yes Jake's Progress- DS will occasionally say ' you never play with me mummy'

@Geamhradh ITV3 shows Classic Corrie episodes every weekday. I'm not sure where they are up to but might be worth checking if they are on 1993!
