Seaforth with Linus roache from 1995

I also would love to watch mtv Laguna beach again- total trash tv - I can't find it free anywhere / I used to watch it on maternity leave back in the noughties ...mtv actually had some brilliantly crap but addictive reality shows around then that weren't to problematic or exploitive

EastWestWhosBest · 15/09/2021 22:34

@IglesiasPiggle

I want to re-watch it as I almost feel it wasn't real and I must be exaggerating. However, whilst all of the episodes of No Going Back are available on demand 4, the 2 Nicaragua episodes are unavailable.

According to this review, It doesn't seem like you were exaggerating or imagined it.

Christ almighty. Those poor poor children. They will be adults now, I hope they got away and made a life.

@IglesiasPiggle

What was the programme where a person has to pass off doing something very unlike their own profession or hobby? The one I remember was a classical cellist who had to learn/pretend to be a club DJ? Was a good watch.

That was Faking It. I loved that. They used to have a lot of the episodes on Channel 4's Catchup service. They might still be on there.

The DJ Was sister bliss from Faithless IIRC That episode has stuck in my mind too

Does anyone remember a young Robert Carlyle in a series called Looking out for JoJo? He was a heroin dealer then an addict and installed a marble bath in his high rise flat and had a girlfriend that wanted to be Marilyn Monroe ? I’m sure I’ve not dreamed that !
And Robbie Coltrane comedy series about a Rockabilly band Tutti Frutti

stuffedwithstuff · 16/09/2021 11:06

Thanks for the links @ChequerBoard, @BertieBotts and @IglesiasPiggle it was interesting to find out a bit more about what's happened since.

In a weird way I'm also slightly relieved that at least that I wasn't the only one so troubled and disturbed by it. I've tried to explain it to DH and he doesn't quite understand as he never saw it.

Oh no its Selwyn Froggett. Don't open the cupboard things fall out. More fell out than could have gone in!

MydogWillow · 17/09/2021 06:06

The Educating Yorkshire/Essex etc series. Brilliant insight into how amazing teenagers and teachers are.

All available on the Channel 4 player
FrankGrillosFloof · 17/09/2021 10:44

Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Some on you tube but can be poor quality. The early ones were the best.

Finebretonstripe · 17/09/2021 10:50

The Banana Splits

TrampolineForMrKite · 17/09/2021 10:56

The BBC2 drama/play A Lump in My Throat. It was a one-man play starting Neil Pearson and based on the Edinburgh fringe show performed by Robert Katz. It was written by Victoria Cohen, using the newspaper columns of John Diamond (AKA the first Mr. Nigella Lawson) about his throat cancer. Saw it in 2001 when it aired and it was brilliant. Have never forgotten it and looked for it online a few times in recent years, but never found a copy.

WhiteHartLane · 17/09/2021 11:08

Strange but True - found a few on YouTube but there are lots missing.

Enjoyed re-watching first 3 seasons of Heart Break High recently - hoping some of the original cast join the re-boot scheduled for 2022.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 17/09/2021 11:14

Ahhh Sunset Beach! There used to be a youtube channel with all the episodes but I don't think it's around anymore. I do have a dvd knocking around somewhere with some episodes on.

Rather niche but also 90s, La Femme Nikita. I used to watch it religiously. But then went to uni where I had no tv in halls for the first year so fell out of watching it. So far nowhere is streaming for free but I live in hope!

@user1480340573

Oh never mind😅

mum2jakie · 17/09/2021 23:27

Does anyone remember a series called The Invaders? I think it was sixties/seventies series but was shown early evenings on channel four in the eighties?

mum2jakie · 20/09/2021 12:13

I also loved At Home With the Braithwaites. I wonder if that is available on BritBox or elsewhere? (Just seen the actress who played the chaotic daughter on an episode of Poirot which reminded me of it.)

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 20/09/2021 13:23

@FanGirlFoof

There was a two part drama called Men Only, years ago on BBC. Can't find it anywhere, it was harrowing but I would like to watch it again.
Part two is on you tube but no sign of part one anywhere.
