@Brakebackcyclebot

Tenko - I loved it in my teens. Maybe it would be terribly dated now though
Tenko is on Brit Box. Still fab.
GalaPie · 11/09/2021 17:54

I'd like to see Survivors - both the 1970s one and the more recent.

I'd also like to see Quatermass, the tv series from the 70s. I remember watching it with my mum (she weren't great at enforcing bedtimes for 10 yr olds).

@munchbunch12

I used to love The Mary Whitehouse Experience when I was young, but am not sure if it'd age very well!
It really hasn't aged well. It's on the radio sometimes, which is where it started out, and it was definitely of its time. I loved it first time round though.

@Ultraopaque

I'd like to see Rhentaghost but I suspect the film quality would be poor. Grin

And I continually watch Downtown on Prime. The plot gets more and creaky the more you watch it, but I love the costumes and decor Smile

And I once saw a play on BBC2 years and years ago. It was about an elderly husband visiting his wife in hospital. I know he took great care to being her the things she liked. I can barely remember any detail except for the fact that it was one of the most wonderful pieces of drama I had ever watched; profound, touching and funny. Can't remember the name of it though!

Rentaghost is also on BritBox. I've been watching it with ds2.

@TheHouseIsOnFire apparently Quantum Leap is on Syfy. I'm just trying to work out how i can watch syfy Hmm

Damnyoureyes · 11/09/2021 17:57

Killing Eve
Schitts Creek
Handmaids tale
Friends

Pebbledashery · 11/09/2021 17:58

The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries, watched it in itv when it was on and it was a master piece of depiction.. I can't watch it again as I can't bloody find it anywhere you don't have to pay for it.

BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 17:58

@Poetrypatty

Brookside - would love it if they put it all on again.
There are three ‘classic’ episodes on All4
PurpleParrotfish · 11/09/2021 18:00

@lilmishap we have Misfits on DVD, I expect Peepshow would be too. Or do most people not have DVD players these days? We are pretty behind the culture curve, no Netflix etc!

plixy · 11/09/2021 18:00

I want to watch Neighbours again from the start. I stopped watching many years ago but had always been a fan of the early years!

FionnulaTheCooler · 11/09/2021 18:00

The Big Breakfast was brilliant in its heyday, I wish there was something fun on in the mornings again to raise a smile while getting ready for work, however I suspect if it was rebooted now it would be full of pop culture references I'm too old to get now.

redfairy · 11/09/2021 18:00

The Grimleys. It was a sitcom about a family from Dudley. I loved Brian Conley in it as the bullying PE teacher.

BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 18:01

@CiaoForNiao

BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 18:02

Thank you. Yes I knew that but I don't have sky or now. I found something that said you can get syfy on the fire stick. But you can't Grin

I might have to take a free trial of now and watch it really quickly Grin

Poetrypatty · 11/09/2021 18:04

Thanks BeacoupFish

TottieMarchpane · 11/09/2021 18:05

Soldier, Soldier

I expect it was probably rubbish in retrospect but I loved it back in the day. An updated version would be ace, too.

KrakowDawn · 11/09/2021 18:08

@Bluepinkyellowcakes

River, with Stellan Skarsgard and Nicola Walker, that was a brilliant series
Ooh yes! River was really good. Was it only the one series though?
AnnaBegins · 11/09/2021 18:10

Mine's Pramface too, how strange! Such a good story. And also Prisoner's Wives on BBC from about 10 years ago.

KrakowDawn · 11/09/2021 18:10

@Twitchynose

Think it was a drama on BBC2 called Mother Love, twenty odd years ago. Can’t remember the full plot now but was basically a controlling/abusive mother and mistreated adult daughter. I missed the last episode, and never did find out what happened when she was locked inside the old bomb shelter at the end of the penultimate episode! Not that I recall enough of the plot for the answer to make any sense now, so I need to watch the whole thing again.
Wasn't this with Diana Rigg?? I think I watched it.

For me:
The Bridge (Danish/Swedish version)
Borgen
The Killing
Black Sails
Blackadder Goes Forth [sobs]

CiaoForNiao · 11/09/2021 18:13

Soldier soldier was on the UKTV play app recently and some if it is on... something else. I'll have to look.

I've seen Prisoners Wives some where too recently. Although it might be a newer version I guess.

I'd love to rewatch The Killing. It was so good!

BirdyBee · 11/09/2021 18:13

A show called head over heels, heartbreak high and London burning!

Thethreecs · 11/09/2021 18:14

There a quite a few from my childhood that Sky put back on, they had The love boat, The Equaliser, Quantum leap, Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, T. J Hooker, Bread, Dr. Finlay, all on Sky Drama, Great TV and SYFY. I loved these, looked forward to seeing them but was very disappointed watching them now, I was sitting there thinking, what the hell was I thinking as a child.

BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 18:15

@CiaoForNiao
Yes was going to suggest free trial, when you go to cancel they will offer you a three month deal, like £15 or something
And there is a lot to watch as well

CiaoForNiao · 11/09/2021 18:15

Soldier Soldier and Prisoners Wives are both on Amazon Prime. (Can you tell I'm meant to be doing something useful but am procrastinating Grin)

DroopyClematis · 11/09/2021 18:16

Black Books
Father Ted
Inspector Morse
Dr Who with Jon Pertwee
