100% not a faint. You don't do cpr and administer shocks for a faint, firstly because the patient would wake up during cpr and ask why the fuck are you doing that, and secondly the defib won't allow a shock to be administered unless it a shockable rhythm.

MrsGulDukat · 12/06/2021 18:32

@DeRigueurMortis

I agree.

grapewine · 12/06/2021 18:32

Danish news says he's stable and in hospital. Audience told to stay at the stadium.

randomkey123 · 12/06/2021 18:33

Thank goodness that there are such amazing medical teams at matches.

Truly the difference between life and death.

AramintaArrowsmith · 12/06/2021 18:33

Why should the thread be deleted? How weird. And I'm the first person to be scornful of horrible gossipy threads. This is just ... chat isn't it? About a terrible thing that's happened? No speculating that I can see

just seen this

@fashionablefennel

people complain about others gaping at victims of accidents, but are more than happy to gossip on threads like this. It's disgusting.
Rubbish. I’m alone in self isolation, very distressed to see a medical emergency unfolding on screen, to a young man I have followed for years, paid good money to go and see more than once. I’ve come here for company and support. And I’ve got it. No one is ‘gossiping’. We are shocked and care about him

This has happened before during sporting events and previously saved players and this time too Erikson was brought back using CPR and debib.

Brilliant efforts to all those working to save him.

@MrsBongiovi

I hope this thread gets deleted.
Why? I haven't seen a single post that isn't concerned, sympathetic and respectful. If his family happened to read this (not likely, obviously), all they would see is concern for him, and hope that he will pull through.
TherapistInATabard · 12/06/2021 18:35

Such a relief, I felt sure it wouldn’t be good news. My heart goes out to his wife and teammates

Absolutely. They did a fantastic job, as did his teammates and the referee who alerted them to come over immediately.

The teammates were amazing. Forming a barrier in front of him so the medics could just get on with saving his life.

Exactly. It would be weird if his family and friends thought no-one gave a shit.

I hope this thread gets deleted.
Why?

I was watching it live and so hope he's ok.

Crunchymum · 12/06/2021 18:38

Thankfully I wasn't watching. Am upset even hearing about it second hand (DP was watching)

Lost my mum a few months ago after sudden collapse and unsuccessful CPR (administered by family at first)

I'm hoping the quick access to trained medics and a defibrillator will help his outcome 🙏

Utterly, heartbreakingly awful.

@TheFairyCaravan

I’m complaining to OFCOM about the BBC coverage. I don’t think I’ve been so disgusted in all my life. He was getting CPR and they thought it was a good idea to zoom in on his wife. They’re utterly disgusting.
I don't think it's specifically BBC cameras but the feed for all broadcasting.

They did cut back to the studio and the programme ended.

Pyjamagame · 12/06/2021 18:39

We are an hour ahead in Denmark, so next update is 18:45 UK time.

MrsGulDukat · 12/06/2021 18:39

I'm gonna be cheering on Denmark now.

SallySycamore · 12/06/2021 18:40

There are a surprising amount of otherwise fit and sporty young adults with undiagnosed heart conditions that can cause something like this.

Thank goodness for the medics on standby.

DeRigueurMortis · 12/06/2021 18:40

I can't see anyone gossiping.

Rather a group of people who've watched a distressing incident and are actively rooting for CE's recovery, condemning the coverage and praising both the swift response of the players and medical staff.

June2021 · 12/06/2021 18:41

Fabrice Muamba came through this.
Erickson was conscious as he was stretchered off the pitch. He's alive and now for his recovery.

Best wishes to him, his family and team mates and all the fans

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 12/06/2021 18:41

I suggest we stop replying to goady fuckers. they will go away if not encouraged.

really hope there will be more confirmed good news about his condition soon.
I thought the worst but kept on hoping for the best.
much love to you all

WorraLiberty · 12/06/2021 18:42

I agree with this actually.

Let's not make the thread all about them.
