IMHO the people being disrespectful are the ones critical of this thread.
Undoubtedly. Some truly appalling behavior in this thread.

Thanks god he's okay.

fashionablefennel
I think you might be the worst human being I've encountered on this site. Just stop.

fashionablefennel · 12/06/2021 21:32

How horrible to call out people on their lack of respect and horrible attitude and interest in gossip.

It's embarrassing to read some of the posts.

Bovrilly · 12/06/2021 21:35

It's embarrassing to read some of the posts.

Well this is certainly true.

ViciousJackdaw · 12/06/2021 21:37

It's embarrassing to read some of the posts

Why are you reading them then? All you are doing is winding yourself up and that's a waste of energy. You're hurting nobody but yourself.

If you need something productive to do, why not brush up on your first aid? Everyone should regularly remind themselves and we have been shown why tonight.

WalkersAreNotTheOnlyCrisps · 12/06/2021 21:42

You’re all over the thread like a rash, fashionablefennel, you’re getting yourself into a frenzy.
Maybe exercise some free will and step away from threads that you claim bother you.

It's telling that the same people who claim they have the RIGHT to post everything and anything, and all details of other people's drama are also the first ones to try to shut up anyone who disagree with them.

Can't have it both ways.

Trying to push others to react angrily is not going to work, people have an opinion and will express it.

0None0 · 12/06/2021 21:50

This was a terrible and shocking event. Thank you every body who came for a hand hold and mutual comfort. Let’s hope lots of people sign up to first aid courses as a result. Then something good will come out of it

Unfortunately/Fortunately for rapid treatment (aside from a hospital) a professional football pitch is the place to be.

His team mates were absolutely, outstandingly wonderful.

My thoughts are with Christian, his family and his team mates. The news coming out sounds very promising, and I hope he makes a full recovery. 🤞⚽

ShaneTheThird · 12/06/2021 21:56

It seems fashionablefennel is on any thread about this incident trying to cause drama. Why dont you just wish the man a quick recovery and stop clicking anything with his name?

ladymuck111 · 12/06/2021 21:57

The Euros this year are a big event in my house. Watching today's events unfold were awful. You don't expect when you sit down to watch a match to see that happen. It was one of the most upsetting things I've ever seen happen. I am so relieved he's in a stable condition and hopefully going to pull through.

Only on MN could something like this turn into a slanging match.

oohmethumb · 12/06/2021 21:58

@bitheby

I get how you are feeling And why you turned to a forum to support. It was one of the most shocking things I've seen. I was lucky to be with my partner and I'll admit we wound it back to see what on earth had happened. I was shaky while I watched what was happening. I honestly thought he was dead. I had a cry and now I'm exhausted after that rush of adrenaline.

This is what makes us human beings. We have extreme emotional reactions, curiosity about what happen each other, we care and we want to seek out help. Watching the incident and discussing it for not make us ghouls.

oohmethumb · 12/06/2021 22:01

Sorry typo. 'Does not make us ghouls'

Nutrafin · 12/06/2021 22:06

Glad to see that HQ is starting to delete fashionablefennel 's posts.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 12/06/2021 22:10

It was beautiful to see the Finnish team and the whole stadium applauding as the Danes walked onto the pitch.
So much love.
For those posted in that spirit none of the other garbage matters.❤⚽️

Wishing Christian a full recovery.Flowers

Gosh what a strange, strange thread. Mixture of football, tragedy and yes, some voyeurism. It's why traffic slows every time there's a road accident and then suddenly speeds up again as soon as the site is passed.
The thread should be wound up now, wishing the poor lad a speedy and full recovery.

NeedWineNow · 12/06/2021 22:14

We'd had a lovely birthday lunch out and dropped in our local bar on the way home to see this unfolding on the tv. It was shocking and brought us up short. So glad to hear that he is awake and aware in hospital. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Here's the football thread for anyone wanting to join.

For those who want to take positive steps after watching the match tonight....

  1. Learn CPR
  2. Know where your nearest public access defibrillator is

The figures for surviving an out of hospital cardiac arrest are poor but immediate CPR and early use of a defibrillator give the person the best chance.... as so fortunately demonstrated tonight.

PurpleMustang · 12/06/2021 22:19

@MissLucyEyelesbarrow

Photo looks great in the circumstances - he is conscious and reacting. No reason why he can't make a full recovery, all being well.
Sorry to say it but they need to find the reason it happened else its likely to happen again if it was a Cardiac Arrest. Unfortunately the stats for these are horrific.
PurpleMustang · 12/06/2021 22:23

@SallySycamore

There are a surprising amount of otherwise fit and sporty young adults with undiagnosed heart conditions that can cause something like this.

Thank goodness for the medics on standby.

Unfortunately many people per day of all ages and fitness suffer Cardiac Arrest. And the survival rates are shit. 8% if you are out of hospital at the time. Why all people should learn CPR and from kids in schools upwards
MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 12/06/2021 22:35

Not really (I'm an A&E doctor and GP). I'm not going to speculate on the underlying cause, but there is a good chance in someone of this age group that the problem is one that can be cured. Failing that, an implantable defibrillator can protect him in the event of further episodes.
