Wondering whats actually normal. I shower every 2-3 days in the evenings.

Yes, every morning. Even though I'm long past the menopause I still get night sweats and feel quite 'stale' in the mornings, so a shower's essential.

Jenjenn · 03/05/2021 16:50

Yes, twice a day actually. I feel grotty if I don't shower in the morning and find a hot shower relaxing in the evening. I have quick showers though, 3-4 min max.

isthismylifenow · 03/05/2021 16:50

Yes! At least once a day. But then I live in a hot country so it's a necessity.

Sakura7 · 03/05/2021 16:50

Yes, daily. I wouldn't feel clean otherwise.

It's not bad for your skin to have a shower every day. Some days just use soap on the important bits, that way if you have dry skin on legs, arms, etc, you're giving them a bit of a break while still keeping clean.

TeeBee · 03/05/2021 16:51

Once or twice a day for me. After my workout in the morning and then before bed if my partner is home and I'm feeling lucky 😄 I would feel (and smell) grim otherwise. Don't you exercise?

DottyFlossie · 03/05/2021 16:52

Yes. A bath or shower every day.

GravityFalls · 03/05/2021 16:54

Yes - often twice a day as I got into the habit of showering after work during the height of the pandemic and it’s stuck. It’s not paranoia or germphobia though, I just find it acts as a nice “reset” and a marker of the start of the day or the end of the work day. I do have really quick showers too.

MayGreen · 03/05/2021 16:55

Twice a day for me too, a quick shower wakes me up in the morning and I have a bath to relax and unwind in the evening. I feel horrible if I miss it, like the day hasn't really started and I can't relax in the evening until I've had my bath. My skin is totally fine, not dry and I don't use moisturiser except suncream, I don't have any skin problems.

Lulu1919 · 03/05/2021 16:55

Yes ...well I have a bath every day....evenings...after I've cooked and eaten..can't get into bed all grubby from a days work etc

ItsALovelyDayToday · 03/05/2021 16:57

Nope, every 2 days for me. I definitely don’t smell, I do a job where I have very close contact with members of the public and people are pulled up for being smelly (embarrassing but has to be done).

Usually every day once the weather is warmer and sweating more and it feels nice to cool off in the shower. It does dry out my skin so I have to use a body moisturiser in summer which I don’t need to do if I only shower every 2 days.

Crosstrainer · 03/05/2021 16:57

Yes. Usually have a quick shower in the morning and a bath before I go to bed.

36degrees · 03/05/2021 16:59

Shower every morning, my hair becomes an oil slick overnight and I wouldn't be presentable for work or the outside world otherwise.

itbemay1 · 03/05/2021 16:59

I bath every evening and wash with a flannel every morning. I can't relax if I don't have a bath, and I like to feel clean.

Fontella · 03/05/2021 17:00

I have baths and showers on alternate days normally but I've been doing up my bathroom so resorted to doing basin washes in the downstairs loo!

It's actually far more affective that one might think and reminds me of my childhood when we did only have one bath a week and had to have strip washes with a soapy flannel sticking you'd feet alternatively into the basin to wash your legs etc! 😀

pedalbin · 03/05/2021 17:01

Every single day. If it's a morning shower and I'm washing my hair then I'm probably in there for 4 ish minutes. If I'm not washing my hair then a 90 second shower to wash the day off me before bed.

Allthereindeersaregirls · 03/05/2021 17:06

No, but I do most days.

I get dry skin and showering daily exacerbates it. I don't sweat much unless extreme heat or working out very hard.

DH has to shower daily otherwise he stinks. Some people are definitely more oderous than others so I don't think there's s right or wrong, just personal preference and circumstance.

HappyToPayForAdultSocialCare · 03/05/2021 17:07

Yes. I actually feel fuzzy headed until I've had a shower. A bit like not having my morning coffee. I have a bath every night too- but that's to relax.

Northernsoullover · 03/05/2021 17:08

I could get away with not showering every day but my hair is so greasy I stick all of me in. I didn't yesterday. I lobbed a bit of batiste in my hair though. By the evening I felt grim. I don't smell though. Before anyone jumps on to say 'that's what you think' I don't really sweat unless doing vigorous activity. I tend to smell greasy more than sweaty even then.

Sparklingbrook · 03/05/2021 17:08

Twice a day. Every 2-3 days is not great.

DramaAlpaca · 03/05/2021 17:10

Yes, I shower and wash my hair every morning. I don't feel right unless I do.

Jesusmaryjosephandthecamel · 03/05/2021 17:10

@Bluntness100

Do you wash yourself in between? Do you change your underwear etc daily? You’re not putting clean clothing over an unwashed body?
This. Please tell me you at least bother to wash your pits and pits every day.
Jesusmaryjosephandthecamel · 03/05/2021 17:11

A greasy smell is just as minging as a sweaty smell.

Allthereindeersaregirls · 03/05/2021 17:11

@Sparklingbrook

Twice a day. Every 2-3 days is not great.
For you.

For skin health and hygiene it's actually perfectly fine for the majority of people.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 03/05/2021 17:12

Yes, every single day.

Inclinedtochatter · 03/05/2021 17:12
