Wondering whats actually normal. I shower every 2-3 days in the evenings.

OP posts:
CherryJane · 04/05/2021 21:05

Twice daily. Either first thing or after my early morning workout.
Again in the evening. Either soon after getting home from work or just before bed.

NeverSurrender · 04/05/2021 21:06

Shower every morning and bath every night! Feel unclean if I don't.

PatrickBatemann · 04/05/2021 21:13

@SmiledWithTheRisingSun

Shower & bath here too. But you crack on 🤷🏻‍♀️
Is that aimed at me or in general?
WrongWayApricot · 04/05/2021 21:24

5 times a day; morning, evening and after meals. Anything less than that is criminal.

Grim. If you don't shower after snacks too you must be radioactive.

@Lookingoutside

Yes I shower every morning and often have a bath in the evening too. These threads make me feel sick.
Maybe go see a gp
PomegranateQueen · 04/05/2021 21:40

It takes a few minutes to give yourself a decent pits and bits wash in the shower, why wouldn't you wash? If not for yourself then as a courtesy to those around you. Unless you have a disability or severe financial problems there really is no excuse not to wash every day.

Standrewsschool · 04/05/2021 21:41

Nope, don’t have a shower everyday.

On average, have a bath every other day.

multivac · 04/05/2021 21:43

I get in the shower as soon as I wake up, and only only leave it during waking hours if I need to answer the door; of course, then I I feel filthy until I can get back in and wash off the stench. Ugh.

People around you are not aware you haven't showered for a day. Don't be ridiculous.
Laufeythejust · 04/05/2021 21:46

I shower after exercising so 5 days a week and I bathe on a Sunday so I can shave my legs (well the weird tufts the lumea misses Blush). I’m lazy on Wednesdays- this also coincides with going into work so I don’t have to straighten my hair twice!

Luckyelephant1 · 04/05/2021 21:47

Hygiene aside, having a shower is genuinely one of the most pleasurable feelings. The hot water, the fresh feeling after. For me it's as comforting as a cup of tea with biscuits or that first morning coffee. Why wouldn't you take a 5-10 min shower daily if you have the facilities to do so? Much more refreshing than a sink wash. Each to their own I guess.

PomegranateQueen · 04/05/2021 21:52

This is one thing I really don't miss about working, because in the afternoon in summer it was obvious who the soap dodgers were. They may not be able to smell themselves but others can.

Quirrelsotherface · 04/05/2021 21:52

My DM worked with a woman years ago who dealt with customers every day and had her own, very small, office. DM said the smell from this woman who admitted to not showering each day, was awful. She described it as being like the bottom of the sea. DM was the manager and had to speak with her about it and things improved but I don't think the poor woman had any idea of how she smelt, even though colleagues and customers commented on the smell in her office.

This story is probably one of the reasons I shower twice a day Grin

I don't smell. And I also don't dodge soap because I don't have a shower everyday.
BestOption · 04/05/2021 22:03

@MirandaWest

I shower probably 5 times or so a week. I can’t really get worked up about other peoples showering habits.

We never had a shower when I was growing up (am 45). Wonder when they started to be something nearly everyone has?

I'm 52 and we had a shower from when I was 8, just a bath in our house before that. I'd had showers camping & staying with friends/family.

Every morning & most nights before bed.

CervixHaver · 04/05/2021 22:32

@Alsohuman

If I didn’t shower every day before I get dressed I’d feel like a bag lady.
What a horrible thing to say. Some of us can't shower every single day due to disabilities. How do you think thoughtless, nasty comments like that make us feel?

No, I do not stink. I shower every 2 days as per dermatological advice!

Besides, showering every day is ridiculous and unnecessary unless the weather is hot or you've been sweating excessively. Verging on compulsive behaviour

CervixHaver · 04/05/2021 22:47

@DinosaurDiana

Twice a day.
Don't be so utterly ridiculous! 🤣 That's not normal behaviour... Unless you have OCD
CervixHaver · 04/05/2021 22:49

@Sakura7

Yes, daily. I wouldn't feel clean otherwise.

It's not bad for your skin to have a shower every day. Some days just use soap on the important bits, that way if you have dry skin on legs, arms, etc, you're giving them a bit of a break while still keeping clean.

Every Dermatologist on the planet would fiercely disagree with your declaration that it's not bad for your skin to shower every day Confused
CervixHaver · 04/05/2021 22:51

@Cherrycee

For skin health and hygiene it's actually perfectly fine for the majority of people.

Washing yourself once every three days is most certainly not fine, for anyone. It's especially inconsiderate to the people in close proximity at work, on public transport, etc.

Utter nonsense! If you smell after just 2 days, then you need to see a Doctor
Thatisnotwhatisaid · 04/05/2021 22:54

Yes I do, I’d feel filthy if I didn’t.

CervixHaver · 04/05/2021 22:56

@Tippexy

Yes I shower three or four times a day else I just don’t feel clean.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 As if! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We have a winner, ladies & gentlemen! The 'I shower the most' Award goes to......

@CervixHaver - May I point out that you are literally doing exactly the same to posters who dare to shower every day. Even worse, laughing at them and ridiculing them. Just in case you haven't noticed. OCD is also a mental health condition, not so much a funny one though.

But absolutely well done for following your dermatologists advice, I'm sure your skin thanks you for it 👏🏻

Correction - I am laughing at the blatant virtue signalling from said posters! It's like a competition on these threads. I am NOT laughing because people are showering daily. Not at all.
