Wondering whats actually normal. I shower every 2-3 days in the evenings.

@MintLampShade

How do you think thoughtless, nasty comments like that make us feel?

@CervixHaver - May I point out that you are literally doing exactly the same to posters who dare to shower every day. Even worse, laughing at them and ridiculing them. Just in case you haven't noticed. OCD is also a mental health condition, not so much a funny one though.

But absolutely well done for following your dermatologists advice, I'm sure your skin thanks you for it 👏🏻

Also, I said "unless you have OCD" meaning unless you have a disability such as OCD. In which case it is understandable
CervixHaver · 04/05/2021 23:04

I was NOT laughing at ANYONE having OCD.... Did you not read my comments properly?

Sakura7 · 04/05/2021 23:14

Every Dermatologist on the planet would fiercely disagree with your declaration that it's not bad for your skin to shower every day

Every single one eh? Grin

There aren't many dermatologists that would recommend not washing at all (even a sink wash on the important areas) for three days solid.

If a daily shower is so damaging to everyone's skin, how do the majority of people continue to do it without any issue?

It's clearly a sensitive topic for you, but ranting at people for simply having a daily shower is very silly.

Clearly not. Got shampoo in my eyes after washing my hair for the 2nd time today.

But I didn't actually say you were laughing at people with OCD. I said you were ridiculing and laughing at posters who shower every day. The OCD reference was the next sentence.

Besides, showering every day is ridiculous and unnecessary unless the weather is hot or you've been sweating excessively. Verging on compulsive behaviour

For heaven’s sake, calm down. A daily shower is so far from compulsive behaviour, it’s untrue.

It’s an enjoyable, refreshing daily routine for the vast number of people who do it.

‘Ridiculous’, ‘unnecessary’ and ‘compulsive’ - you clearly need to make yourself feel better about your choices.

Billandben444 · 05/05/2021 07:12

I get in the shower as soon as I wake up, and only only leave it during waking hours if I need to answer the door;

What if it's 2 giggling schoolkids ringing the bell with a psychotic dad ready to let rip? Would you answer the door then?
(Think I'm getting my threads muddled up Confused)

Every morning and then if I’m exercising after work (4/7 days a week) I’ll have a second shower.
I personally would struggle to feel fresh without a morning shower (am only in for a couple of minutes)

dementedpixie · 05/05/2021 07:31

I really couldn't go out without washing at least my pits and it's easier to do that in the shower. I dont know if it's perimenopause or I have a BO issue but I smell in the morning. If I exercise I shower again. I don't wash my hair each time so it's washed 2 or 3 times a week

BadLad · 05/05/2021 08:28

In the morning to help me feel fully awake, and a quick shower at night because I like to feel clean when I get into bed.

SaturdayRocks · 05/05/2021 08:33

I have my daily shower in the morning, albeit sometimes in the evening as well for specific reasons.

But the holy trinity to me is a shower, clean PJs and fresh bed linen at bed time. Bliss.

MommySharkDooDooDooDoo · 05/05/2021 08:39

No! I probably do about 4-5 times a week. We have one functioning shower and it's in my 3yo's room, so I can't have one in the evenings. I can't have one in the mornings he is with me, without him coming in too, which isn't always convenient. He is still in nappies, so I don't always want to get him dressed twice in one morning. I wouldn't go more than one day in between. Maybe once in a blue moon. Occasionally, I'll have two in one day, if I'm doing very sweaty sport or go out for a walk in winter and get soaked and / or covered in mud.

AyyX · 05/05/2021 08:42

I shower at least once a day but usually it’s twice. Hardly ever bath, prefer showers.
