Do you shower every single day?

Wondering whats actually normal. I shower every 2-3 days in the evenings.

@Cherrycee

I wash my hair more frequently than I bathe (wash hair daily, bathe every other day).

Genuine question, why?

It seems like an extra effort to wash hair without washing your body. Doing it in the sink/over the bath is much more of a faff than just doing it in the shower.

I've seen a lot of people say they don't shower every day because they don't want to get their hair wet or frizzy, so it's interesting to see the opposite.

I don't have a shower.
bloodywhitecat · 04/05/2021 14:54

@CandyLeBonBon Sorry, only just seen your question. I use Perspirex but follow the instructions to the letter (at night before bed, on clean, completely dry skin and only two passes on each side) or else my skin gets really sore and itchy. They do a Comfort version now but I find it doesn't work as well for me and I do still need to use a regular roll on on the morning (Mitchum is the only one that stops me smelling of BO)

multivac · 04/05/2021 15:14

@Ladywinesalot

Everyday. I’m a sweaty Betty and if I don’t I’m greasy and smelly. It feels horrid and is bad manners.

I can understand those that have skin issues might not want to shower/bath everyday but otherwise don’t you smell? Doesn’t your arse need a wash after you poo?

Or maybe you just don’t get Care and enjoy your stench? K

Poor you. That must feel so horrid - and I completely understand why it might make you paranoid, with a weird notion of what is 'normal' cleanliness for those of us who aren't 'sweaty Bettys'. It sounds exhausting hugs etc

Sometimes I shower every day. If I've missed showering in the morning, I'll have one late afternoon and skip it in the morning. On the other hand, if I've got hot and bothered at work, gardening, exercising, I sometimes have a second quick shower in the day.

LST · 04/05/2021 16:47

I'm going to jump in the shower now. My last shower was on Sunday. I do not stink and I am not grim. My hair is going up in a shower cap because I really haven't got the energy to wash and brush it.

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2021 17:07

I am going to have my second shower of the day in a bit and I am going to clean it while I am in there. Two birds etc...

NotSoScummyMummy · 04/05/2021 17:10

I shower 2/3 times a day. Wash hair daily.

Once on the AM to wake up and because DH and I have some sort of sex most nights.

If I’ve been to the gym at lunchtime (4/5 times a week) I’ll need one after.

Once in the PM to freshen up and be clean for sex/bed.

Do those of you who only shower a few times a week not have sex?

I've just cleaned mine. I can't get in to clean it properly unless I am in there so I always kill 2 birds as well!
EvilOnion · 04/05/2021 17:22

@NotSoScummyMummy not on a set schedule, no.

I don't shower every hour just incase!

GoldenOmber · 04/05/2021 17:36

Only after I’ve dunked myself in Dettol.

Ugh gross. You should be scouring yourself with wire wool too, you slattern.
Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2021 18:04

Same here @LST, so much easier to get the door really shiny when you are in it rather than reaching around.

SaturdayRocks · 04/05/2021 18:47

Most people are capable of washing without a shower and why would anyone with skin conditions smell less than anyone else because they can't shower as often? That makes no sense...

‘Most’ people?

No - the shower dodgers are (hopefully) capable of washing without a shower. Not ‘most’ people. What a bizarre assertion.

I have zero inclination to wash without a shower, so I wash at least daily - in the shower. More effective - and far more pleasant.

Running water seems to be classed as some kind of luxury for some, but even in my student flatting days, every house I lived in had a shower.

Any need for the derogatory wording really?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record... I don't have a shower. I live in a council flat and none of the flats where I live have them. None of our local council houses do, either, unless they're adapted. They cost too much for the council to maintain apparently, even though we pay market rent.
EvilOnion · 04/05/2021 20:17

@SaturdayRocks the question asked specifically about showers - not bathing or washing with other methods.

Are you REALLY saying that if you didn't have access to a shower you couldn't find any other method to wash?

That most people genuinely cannot use water from a sink without flooding their bathroom?

If you'd bothered to actually read my posts in context to the previous poster you would have seen that I was stating that most people could do if they had too not that most people use the sink to wash. Also before referring to me as a "shower Dodger" please see my previous posts instead of picking out the bits that you wish to turn into a playground argument.

Some people on here have so much pent up anger recently 🤣

Pheebs2021 · 04/05/2021 20:20

If I've had a bath the night before and I am running late or it's a really early going to the airport at 3am type of day then I'll skip it otherwise 99% of the time I shower every morning.

EvilOnion · 04/05/2021 20:21

@TheVampiresWife, I'm also in social housing where showers are seen as a luxury in some areas not a necessity.

The ignorance of some posters is baffling.

It's typical MN though, isn't it. 'If I can do XYZ, there's no reason why everyone can't do XYZ also'.

Some people have no clue how the world works.

LudoBear · 04/05/2021 20:43

You will be pleased to know I have just had a shower. I last showered 26 hours ago.

There is literally no need to have a shower and bath in one day to be clean.

Also, don't open these sort of threads if it causes you THAT much distress Hmm

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 04/05/2021 21:03

Shower & bath here too.
But you crack on 🤷🏻‍♀️
