Let me lead with the Waitrose pecorino and back dip. They've discontinued it and I have no idea why. I have been whingeing about it for two years now why would you discontinue such a popular product ?

I am just hoping the pork and iberico chorizo sausage rolls, also from waitrose, don't go the same way. It's been ages since I've seen them on the shelves.

Not only is it lockdown with nowt eke to think about but for, but I'm on a calorie controlled diet atm trying to get back in my dinner clothes before the weather warns up! All I can think about is eating.

What foods do you miss? Have they been discontinued? Can you only get them in a location you can't access? Are you trying to lose the lockdown lbs? Please make me feel better about being an obsessive foodie by joining me!

Swiss pies from M&S- like a pork pie but with a layer of pâté between the meat and jelly. Really crispy pastry too.

Cadbury Snowflakes- white chocolate flakes covered in dairy milk. Loved those, the little bit of milk chocolate meant they weren’t too cloying.

Montezuma also used to do a white chocolate with black pepper where the fiery bite of the pepper cut the sweet creaminess of the chocolate beautifully.

Hot fudge sundaes from Radars Cafe in Aberdeen. The stuff of local legend.

Genius gluten free croissants.

@Sueelleker
Yes, I did mean germaline, no idea who Geraldine is!
I don't think is was the chewing gum you mentioned though, it had fake tattoos in and came in separate bits, like in10p mix, rather than a packet.

ThatOtherPoster · 31/03/2021 16:59

@IHaveBrilloHair - your chewing gum post reminded me of Dentine! Haven’t seen that for decades. I thought that was the one you meant, only I think it was more of a cinnamon flavour than poor chewy Geraldine.

Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Macademia ice cream.
It's listed in their 'graveyard' section, so I know it's not coming back.

Ikeatears · 31/03/2021 17:26

Sainsbury's used to do a Rendang sauce that was the nicest of any curries I've ever had. They discontinued it about 8 years ago and DH and I still miss it!

misskatamari · 31/03/2021 19:04

Morrison's used to do a frozen garlic bread that was made with brown seedy baguette. Omg it was AMAZING! so flavourful. They used to do a tomato garlic bread pizza thing even longer ago too, which was gorgeous. No cheese, just tomatoey garlickly gorgeousness. Aldi use to do breaded goats cheese which was lovely (the still do the Camembert but no goats cheese sob) and they did lovely lemony fish cakes until recently, which have vanished and been replaced with katsu flavour (which is okay but not as nice)

misskatamari · 31/03/2021 19:07

Oooh and cauldron used to do a spinach pate that I loved

GirlofInkandStars · 31/03/2021 19:11

BBQ flavour pretzels - now you can only get sour cream (loads of lactose) or salted (no bloody flavour)

IHaveBrilloHair · 31/03/2021 19:39

These!

@SmellsLikeAHamsterCage

Birds Eye Crispy Potato Fritters. They tasted so good dipped in salad cream.

3D Doritos, paprika flavour.

Bird's Eye Inspirations frozen stir fry rice and Thai chicken meal.

Oh my god yes to the birds eye rice thing that was my OH favourite dinner and as a bonus was dead easy to cook whilst giving a blow job. 🤣🤣
worriedwithhindsight · 31/03/2021 21:35

Chesswood creamed mushrooms. I miss them!

Gotthetshirt23 · 31/03/2021 22:25

@worriedwithhindsight I remember those ! Often in vol au vents Grin

I remember my mum being addicted to them!
IHaveBrilloHair · 31/03/2021 23:16

Talking of vol au vents, why can't you get those anymore?
Even at Christmas they're hard to find.

hoxtonbabe · 31/03/2021 23:32

Sports biscuits. They keep coming and going! After years of not finding them, about 2 years ago whilst in Glasgow I saw them so stocked up, a year later they started reselling in Iceland, but yet again they are no longer stocking them In Iceland or any supermarkets in London.

The other is Green and Blacks cocoa dusted Almonds, they stopped making them a good 15 years ago, I lived off them (probably best they did stop production then) especially when left in the fridge to get nice, cold and extra crunchy.

Vol au vents are hard to find but I did get some in Sainsbury’s before Christmas. You can fill them with so many tasty fillings. My children love them and make a change from a sandwich!
Icancelledthecheque · 01/04/2021 21:11

Thornton’s strawberry jelly spiders, they were the best!

Baskin Robbins did a limited edition valentines flavour... dairy ice cream with swirls of raspberry sauce, but they had little dark chocolate cups with raspberry sauce in mixed into the ice cream

M&S meatball pasta bake, was family sized and great to shove in the oven after work for an easy family meal

M&S salads... beetroot and goats cheese, and ham hock and egg with mustard dressing... also agree with the PP about the chicken pesto on tomato bread!

M&S cream of vegetable soup (damn you M&S discontinuing all the nice food)

Mumtaz lamb karahi... takeaway style slow cooked lamb curry at a fraction of the calories, I ate them weekly and I really miss them! I’ve only seen chicken since and they’re rubbish in comparison.

ConkerBonkers · 01/04/2021 21:13

Aldi did a really great vanilla and passion fruit cheesecake. I also miss spira chocolate bars.

Sunbird24 · 01/04/2021 22:01

M&S also used to do a lovely chicken, bacon & avocado sandwich

SuperintendentHastings · 01/04/2021 22:55

Mint Cracknell. My sister and I used to get it from the sweet shop on the corner and we LOVED it. I'll never get over the loss ...

DixieLandReject · 01/04/2021 23:00

McVities Riva Bar

Prettybubblesintheair · 02/04/2021 10:00

Definitely Cadbury snowflake. But for some reason I remember it being just white chocolate, not coated in milk as a pp said? I might be misremembering though.

Niknaks cream flavour. Coconut ice. Coconut flavour yoghurt with fat and sugar. Muller corner yoghurt with granola. And I just looked on the Ben and Jerry’s graveyard and am lamenting the loss of the creme brûlée and chocolate coconut one even though I never tried them! Also the peanut cracknell in quality street.

Prettybubblesintheair · 02/04/2021 10:01

I’ve just googled snowflake and I’m definitely wrong, it was coated in chocolate!

bendmeoverbackwards · 02/04/2021 10:20

@megletthesecond

M&S caramelised goats cheese. So good in salads. I still sadly scan the shelves for it.

And M&S chocochino muffins. My dc's loved them after swimming lessons and they vanished.

Chicochino muffins are gone??? 🥲🥲🥲
bendmeoverbackwards · 02/04/2021 10:22

I used to love chocolate coated peanut brittle bought by weight from one of those old fashioned sweet shops.

And Ovaltine chocolate bars.
