The latest royal family drama

It's like a TV show. How embarrassing!

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/royal-aides-reveal-meghan-bullying-claim-before-oprah-interview-7sxfvd2c3

The latest is that Meghan is accused of bullying staff. Harry and Meghan then responded that Buckingham Palace was using the Times to peddle false stories/a smear campaign. So presumably the "leak" comes from Buckingham Palace/the Queen.

It's all so childish. Why can't they all just be grateful for the extremely cushy life that they have!

I'll be watching the Oprah interview. I think the royals never come across well in these kind of things. Like Andrew's awful interview...he's just so out of touch with reality. And I think that's a characteristic that Harry unfortunately shares with him.

OP posts:
TheKeatingFive · 04/03/2021 13:56

In other words the people who quit etc.

So the same staff members leaked that story too?

Again, do we know that?

pinpong · 04/03/2021 13:56

I have feeling a lot more is going to come out soon starting from her past (uni years in particular), employment as an actress and then onto the Royal engagements Australia in particular and of course her aides.

Somehow, some of the things were silenced when she was part of the family as the RF don't want to be associated with such behaviour from their new DIL (??) but now she no longer has that protection and has made a mission to use her voice to discredit the RF. The RF are all experienced and tactical too. They've managed thrones for centuries. Meghan is a piece of cake but the tricky part is there's social media and she's able to use all sources of medium but also the firm know how to use these mediums too for their advantages.

This is going to get very very nasty for her not that I will feel sorry for her if all the allegations come out as true because I would want a bully, a nasty person to feel humiliation and face consequences of her actions. I wish she just thought about her marriage, her toddler and unborn child before poking the hornets nest. She is 40, educated and is a mother but it seems to me her priorities have always been about her and her goddam stupid voice.

He said, "unlike Oprah or meghans mum who are black" he tried not to br racist but it came out like diarrhoea.

It's been heavily hinted with all the clarification that her team always knew who had given her the earrings.

TheKeatingFive · 04/03/2021 14:00

There’s an awful lot of speculation. I’m interested in what can be established as fact.

M&H seemed to think the leak had come from BP in their response. The fact that Knauf is the only named party would also suggest that. But I’d like to know.

I’d also like to know if a formal complaint was actually lodged against her. What I read suggested not. But again, nothing but obfuscation.

RubyViolet · 04/03/2021 14:01

That guy has no self awareness whatever. I found his statement completely offensive.
VinylDetective · 04/03/2021 14:04

He’s not. Samantha Cohen and Melissa Touabti are also named.

debbrianna · 04/03/2021 14:05

@VinylDetective

If you are for women’s emowerment does that mean you have to get along with all women in the workplace? You cannot find any woman insubordinate, incompetent or dishonest?

Amazing coincidence that all the people making the allegations are female. As well as the one the journalist witnessed in tears after being publicly abused on the African tour and the person who had tea thrown at them. That’s six people, not a man amongst them.

How has it hone from fiji tour to African tour?

TheKeatingFive · 04/03/2021 14:06

Samantha Cohen and Melissa Touabti are also named.

In what context?

CoronaIsShit · 04/03/2021 14:07

How exactly was the Palace supposed to deal with Meghan bullying her aides? Issue her with a written warning? Fire her?

It has been reported she was spoken to by Kate. I bet that went down well! She accused Kate of being unfriendly in her book didn’t she.

I think it speaks volumes for that these bullying incidents started before the wedding and an official complaint was made only 6 months after she officially became part of the family.

Someone did explain how royal jewellery works on this thread.

Being bullied, is that not what we’re discussing?

Sorry @debbrianna, I may have got the location wrong.

pinpong · 04/03/2021 14:10

@CoronaIsShit they can't deal with it without facing the racism, discrimination and unwelcoming card. I've said this before, it wouldn't be easy to pull her up for it. They would just sweep it under the carpet than confront her.

TheSparkleJar · 04/03/2021 14:10

Something that's different about this versus what Diana had to cope with is that Harry and Meghan can do everything on their own terms.

They're not having to deal directly with the UK system, everything being filtered through the media. Yes, everything they say will get warped and twisted a dozen ways in the British tabloids, but that's only being swallowed by the domestic audience, in particular the ones who open up and wait for their chosen tabloid to spoonfeed them their latest opinions.

Diana had no choice but to use the same tactics, so it was all on the same petty level - columnists sniping at each other, insinuations, upstaging each others interviews. Harry and Meghan can occupy higher ground. And yes, if someone wants to go there, Oprah is higher ground than Piers Morgan and Dan Wootton's spiteful little columns. But then what isn't?

PurpleCrocuses · 04/03/2021 14:10

Of course the leak comes from the Royal Family. Don't be so naive. We know exactly who released the bullying story to the media because screencaps of the email are online and journalists have confirmed it.

The bullying story was leaked by Jason Knauf, the same person who made the initial bullying allegations without permission from the alleged victims. The same Jason Knauf who was Thomas Markle's handler and completely screwed up, who gave the Thomas Markle letter to the press, and is best friends with Dan Wootton since they were at university in New Zealand together. All this is confirmed.

The same Jason Knauf who was never punished for his actions in betraying his boss and leaking to the press, surely a fireable offence unless he was acting at the RF's command?

WHY did the RF appoint Dan Wootton's best friend a known tabloid leaker to take care of Meghan, if they weren't trying to set her up and control her and use her as a whipping boy to throw to the wolves in the press any time Andrew or William needed a press distraction?

Why did the RF not fire Jason when he fucked up his Thomas Markle job?

Why did the RF not fire Jason when it came out he was leaking stories about his boss to the tabloids?

Why did William and Kate hire a person with limited experience and a terrible work record and history of leaking to the media to be their CEO?

Why have the numerous bullying allegations made about Andrew not been investigated? Or the charges of staff being made to work in unsafe conditions in Buckingham Palace? Or the tabloid articles about Kate being a nightmare to work for and the reason such a huge number of Cambridge staffers had quit, which came out in the early years of their marriage? Why is Meghan sending emails at 5am worse than all those stories?

The two staffers who were allegedly bullied reportedly asked for the bullying allegations to be rescinded.

Has anyone come out and said "Meghan bullied me", because it seems to me that it's all known bullies with an agenda to attack Meghan making allegations of bullying on other people's behalf. Not just Jason but now one of the worst and most racist royal reporters trying to weaponise White Woman Tears. Someone cried so it's all Meghan's fault.

I wonder why they're so terrified of what Meghan will reveal in her interview, that they feel the need to launch a coordinated hate campaign against her like this.

TheCatWithTheFluffyTail · 04/03/2021 14:10

you know if Megan announced another child right now itd be teems of people saying how insensitive it is given Phillips health.

If Meghan gives birth now then it’s hardly something she has control over.

randomer · 04/03/2021 14:11

@Serenster,thank you.I am genuinely interested in this.'upsetting someone 'is a very big umbrella. I felt upset as a volunteer this week when I worked very hard, other people didnt and left early. Was I bullied? No.

TheCatWithTheFluffyTail · 04/03/2021 14:12

is having a strong/American style work ethic now an issue?

Jason Knauf is American so I would assume he has the same work ethic...

Mummy195 · 04/03/2021 14:13

Strangely, so many ppl are ready to jump on the MM bully story. I guess why not, if they believe that she is princess pushy.

With Weinstein, Epstein, Andrew, Saville etc. we had the victims come out and state what happened to them. We could see in their faces and hear their talk and they also provided timelines, and lots of witnesses who had nothing to gain or any axe to grind came out. This way we were satisfied that the abuses took place.

Why is it that no victim has come out, and an ex employee made an accusation, but some posters are taking that as true gospel. We have not even seen JK on tv, coming out saying his timelines and laying everything out at all, let alone the victims themselves.

VinylDetective · 04/03/2021 14:14

Of course the leak comes from the Royal Family

Well, The Times, to which it was leaked, say it wasn’t. 🤷‍♀️

Are you sure you’re not a scriptwriter for The Crown @PurpleCrocuses? Your apparent knowledge is encyclopaedic.

PurpleCrocuses · 04/03/2021 14:15

It's a man who leaked the "bullying allegation" and the royal reporter who was on the Fiji (not Africa!) tour only said she witnessed Meghan "hissing" at a staffer, after she (Meghan) was surrounded by a mob. The crying was later on and it's more likely the staffer was crying because she fucked up her job, or due to homesickness, than because she was "hissed at."

VinylDetective please explain why you've decided to rephrase "hissed at" as "publicly abused"? You should be a screenwriter yourself!

All of this Well said
ChardonnaysPetDragon · 04/03/2021 14:16

I don’t think the leak comes from the palace. It’s damaging for them as well.

You can’t take action against someone who is whistleblowing and you don’t need permission to report bullying or concerns in the workplace. Furthermore, The Times have said that it’s not true about one of the people named in his email not wanting their complaint known.

The palace has said they are investigating bullying in its workplace, especially as the email suggests nothing is done about it. That should mean it’s investigated across the board.

It’s because people like you believe those in power/authority that the little under people get treated like this and it becomes normalised.
