How long into your relationship did you get engaged?

Just that really! Interested to see when people decided to put a ring on it. I know no two relationships are the same but I am intrigued having a baby and coming up to our second year anniversary makes the question play in my mind more so as to when things like this follow?

Moved in after 3mo. Engaged 3yrs later. Married 6mo after that. Been married 18yrs. Worked for us.

He proposed after 6 weeks. I said I need a week to think about it. I was 17, he was 23 & we have been married 30 years this year.

3 months

Met August 1999, engaged October 1999, found out I was pregnant December 1999. We got married in 2001 and were still disgustingly in love when he died in 2019. We may have rushed things a bit but it paid off for us.

Most of my friends are married but I can't think of any who got engaged at all, including me. It's not something I heard of anyone doing or wanted to do.

2.5 months, but we'd known each other years. For logistical reasons we lived 4 hours drive away from each other for 14 months after getting engaged. All rather odd. We sort of did things in reverse. Had a wonderful time getting to know each other properly after we got engaged though. Lots of lengthy phonecalls and weekend fun.
Lived together properly for just 7 months before getting hitched.
Still here 10 years later.

We are old now, but we had our first date Feb 89, dh proposed June 90 and we announced our engagement Xmas 90 when all plans were made. Married first week in July 91.

I shall add we met shortly before Xmas 89. We both tingled and he ended a five year relationship before asking me out. We have barely been apart since our second date.

It was and has been incredible and I love him more now than 30 odd years ago.

7 years.

Neither married before though.

Both age 50, two youngish kids under 13.

Three and a half years. Getting married later this year 😀

Third child after 12 years of marriage.

My friend was with her partner for 15 years (3 children) decided to get Married, 1year later they divorced.

We were together 3 years, from about 2 years we were seriously discussing marriage and when/where. By the third year we were planning how to pay and when to book, got married after 4 years.

No engagement as such, seemed a bit stupid after we'd already discussed that we were going to get married!

10 years

We got engaged a year after meeting and got married the following year. Its our 10 year wedding anniversary next month.

Well, it was ages ago and I'm not with him anymore but I think it was about 2.5 years

Got engaged 2 weeks after we started going out...we waited 6 months to get married. 21 years later still happy.

Engaged after 9 years (living together in a joint mortgaged house by then) married after another 8. We said we'd only marry if we ever went to Las Vegas. We stuck to our word.

We didn't.
We moved in together after 2 years, had 2 dc within temhe following 2.5 years and then just decided to get married and went to book it that day. 3 months later, we were married at the register office. That was nearly 8 years ago now.

Proposed to and accepted 4 months. Didn't get around to the ring until 8 months and got engaged approx at 1 year and married at 2 years.

Engaged after 6 months.
Married after 18 months
First DC almost 2 years after the wedding.

2 weeks from meeting to engagement and married 6 months after meeting - love him to the moon and stars and back.
